IVP has also taken the action of censoring their company's name (the text "insight venture partners" won't display or will appear as multiple asterisks in the forum's dialogue boxes) on the Runescape forums, indicating that they are fully aware of the community's general unrest and protest to their company and the microtransactions.

 

I know it comes from Wikipedia, but can any one confirm this is true?

Yes, it's very true that "Insight Venture Partners" is censored on the RSOF. As to who did it, I dunno.

Seems logical for either IVP or Jagex to do so, since IVP is American and Jagex probably doesn't like what they're doing to Runescape.

I got rid of my account a few months ago. I still check your blog sometimes though.

 

I guess it was a good decision seeing I'd be unhappy in it. Haven't played any mmorpgs since. Kinda sad I may never be able to enjoy one again. Mostly playing FPSs once in a while now.

Try popping a [citation needed] there and see if anyone adds one.

 

Also, do they verify you're an employee before you post a review on glassdoor?

 

EDIT: FAQ says they do it over email. Whatever. Those reviews are a bit depressing. I hope management gets better.
