My Time with Guild Wars 2
I must say I've finally reached the point where I just don't see the point in playing much more. After getting 40 level 80s, the general open world stuff has lost it's appeal. They haven't released a new permanent dungeon since fractals, and in general I don't find sPvP that entertaining. WvW is ok from time to time, but it isn't enough to play the game solely for. And don't get me started on how the new achievement system has destroyed the balance of Badges of Honor.
ArenaNet had a great run for early-game and release, but has since done a horrid job at promoting endgame and new content. Yeah, they're pumping out a good amount of content every couple weeks now, but I find it isn't much more than a couple hours worth, unless you want to go for every achievement, which I also find there isn't much incentive for. Having a cosmetic-based endgame seemed like a good idea at first, but really I've reached a point where I'm saying "What's the point?" I have more skins now than I know what to do with, and my bank is completely full of them. Legendaries only look marginally nicer than some of the new skins they're pumping out, and have seemed to loose their specialness and appeal now that a hefty number of people have them.
Overall, I still think Guild Wars 2 is an amazing game, but it isn't a long-term game to play like other MMORPGs like Runescape or WoW. I still think it was well worth my money, but ArenaNet just hasn't produced the endgame content to keep me playing. That being said, it was a well done game for leveling 1-80 and a bit after. I'll probably pop in and check out the updates every month or so, and will probably play an expansion campaign if they make one, but overall my time as Guild Wars 2 being my main game is over.
