Skill Training Guides 2
I'm still working on updating the skill training guides. Doing fishing now. The problem I noticed with these guides, which became very clear while updating them, is probably how they were accepted. Many seem to have an exorbitant amount of information, which really is not necessary while training a skill.
So because of this I will probably end up doing straight rewrites from now on. The thing is that I can't really update a guide to 2014 without making massive changes and additions/deletions to what is on there now. So this sort of begs the philosophical question how much can you change something before it no longer is what is used to be. If I end up having to change 75% of the guide it really is not the same guide anymore. Also, working around someone's writing structure can be a bit of a pain.
Anyway, I am admittedly not the XP GAINS MASTA or anything of the sort, so if you are up to the task you can rewrite a guide yourself! You're probably better than me :P . Army of One is rewriting agility and hunter I know, but I do not know of anyone else.
Personally I will probably do woodcutting next. Our current guide for training woodcutting was published on December 19 2006... a bit outdated. It was written by Lilshu though. :P I hope I can get it done by the end of this month, although that is optimistic.
Speaking about optimistic predictions, I thought we could make a serious dent into the skill training guides by the end of this year, but it's been a bit slow. Mainly I thought we'd just be adding new training methods and not restructuring guides. Woops! So it likely won't be done by the end of this year, unless we get an outpouring of help. Your help will really speed things along. I'm up for redoing everything myself, but it will take an extended period of time if I do it alone. I try to work on this 30 mins/day, but I'm very busy and it's hard to find the time every day.
Before leaving, I'd like to thank the Sals CC for help with finding training methods and experience rates. Saves me time.
