Question about Word and letters

King Mic

391 views

Need an answer to this asap!!

Basically I need a letter delivered, kinda important so I need to make sure everything is up to high standard.

So basically what's the ideal font, letter size, spacing and all that yadda yadda from people who are used to having to deliver letters, essays etc whatever.

Honestly I don't know what the default setting of Word are, but mine are awful.

I'm googling this as I'm typing this entry, but I figured it'd be worth asking here first.

Depends on what this is for.

Times New Roman 12 point font and double spaced is always safe for things.

Well it's not for a job interview or anything of the sort;

It's a personal letter but I don't know the person that well & it's somewhat serious rather than casual so I didn't want to make it look like no effort was put into it

My handwritting is attrocious lmao. :P

Thanks for the suggesting though, I went with Arial and size 11 or 12. Can't remember. Does the trick.

Helvetica 12, always, at all times, high tide and low tide, war and peace, Helvetica is supreme

(I use it at work to send letters to people along the line of "you must pay your insurance premium or bad things will happen to you and your family")

Arial is good too. Sans-serif fonts for teh winz0r!

I always go with font size 16 Arial whenever I send a letter to my grandmother with 1.5 spacing. If the person you know will receive it has a decent eye sight, you should probably go down to 14, or even 12.

Ask yourself this: Is this a letter that you want someone to focus a lot on, to the point of it being challenging to read? Or is it more of a more relaxing and casual letter?

When I was in high school, I was infamous amongst teacher because I would often print out various crap in computer lab and read it in class - often completely unrelated to the class itself. 6pt Arial to keep note size to a minimum, and woooo
