I've always listened to Kanye West here and there, but starting a few weeks ago I went through his entire discography and actually listened to his albums. I think he's my new favorite artist.

THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zusak is an amazing book that will have you feeling both empty inside and kindled with a spark of hope

My problem with Khaled Hosseini's "And the Mountains Echoed" is that I believe that books should inspire hope, but this one's just--as a character states--"a thousand tragedies per square mile."

Going to sleep with the knowledge that you had a productive day is bliss. I love it so much when at the end of the day I can reflect and think "I got shizzle done today."

Tiger, if you liked American Gods then definitely check out Anansi Boys!! It takes place in the same world he created in American Gods but is much more lighthearted and funny. I loved it. :D
Yeah Tabt, it's called "The Ocean at the End of the Lane," is getting rave advance reviews, and comes out in June.

Just discovered Streetlight Manifesto. Can someone point me in the direction of similar bands? They satisfy a musical craving I never knew I had.

My school's decisions for its chapter of the National Honor Society came out today. Amongst those rejected: the president of the student body, the president of the drama club, the hockey team captain, the kid who got 200+ volunteer hours at the local hospital...

So remember that girl who I asked out on a date? Well it's not happening. Her mom does not want her daughter to be romantically involved with someone whose family is 50% muslim. This is a frustrating situation.

I'm not sure guys. Her family are bigoted idiots sure, but they *are* her family. However if they are willing to give you a chance then you'll surely change their minds, you are such a lovely chap. Its a horrendous situation that nobody should ever have to experience but I wish you all the best with it. I hope she's worth it!
