Probably just me being overly concerned with some recency bias.
The only thing that really concerns me is that with the SSL certificate, when you load a site, it goes to HTTP first and then moves to HTTPS to secure.
And despite ending up on the right page, you are getting linked to another website. Which sounds awfully familiar to an SSL stripping attack.

This could be as malicious as somebody sitting as a middle man sitting in on the connection stealing data like passwords.
Which is why I'm a little bit terrified.
Edit: Ohh it's the ads. Well that's a relief.
