It started showing up yesterday, I'm wondering if we've been hijacked or there's some malicious advertising thing happening.

Thinking about it, perhaps the domain provider / ssl provider was attacked and they've managed to edit peoples certificates.

It has happened before, so I doubt we have been hijacked, but it would not surprise me if it is related to adverts or something similar.

      Edit:
Looking closer at the error, it is from the ads, yes.

Probably just me being overly concerned with some recency bias.

The only thing that really concerns me is that with the SSL certificate, when you load a site, it goes to HTTP first and then moves to HTTPS to secure.

And despite ending up on the right page, you are getting linked to another website. Which sounds awfully familiar to an SSL stripping attack.

This could be as malicious as somebody sitting as a middle man sitting in on the connection stealing data like passwords.

Which is why I'm a little bit terrified.

Edit: Ohh it's the ads. Well that's a relief.
