  1. Seeing your username immediately triggered a flood of recollections relating to my time here in the 2000s (my username was Lord Nadson), and I was astounded to see the forum tracker indicating that your last visit was only six hours prior.

We didn't interact much, but I hope you're doing well. It seems like most of the others I recall have long since disappeared.

  2. I don't understand this line of reasoning at all.
  3. I get ads for kitchen remodeling. What the heck are you guys searching for??
  4. It doesn't change much, just makes it look nicer also might be more appealing to people who come here if they 1 aren't bombarded with forums and 2 those forums are inactive and they run away...Also we'd need an administrator to help.......LILSHU WAKE UP MATE. Oh no no no. I'm not falling for this trap again. I already murdered the role playing folks.

I've heard there's a trick where you rub the base of your neck and it goes away almost instantly (people who have had tinnitus heard silence for the first time in years). I can't find it, but you do something like put pressure under your ears with your thumbs and use the rest of your fingers to massage your traps.

  7. Business. I don't mean running a mom-and-pop shop, I mean running a major corporation. You have to know and understand politics, economics, business, foreign relations, foreign cultures, and etiquette at a bare minimum. Isn't that true for most times when you're at the top of your field?
  8. I think the ability to invent increasingly advanced technological innovation is an evolutionary benefit that is constantly improving.
  9. I can't think of any advanced degree that requires innate intellect, which is why I don't think it should be a valid metric. I haven't ever been a tutor btw. I've just taught/trained a spread (a hundred or so) of premed folks over the past years who were unfortunate enough to have me assigning their grades.
  10. I disagree. If you polled doctors and asked if vaccines cause autism, you'd get a no answer somewhere in the upper 90%. Carson is either one of the few who believes vaccines (may?) cause autism or he's playing to his audience. I'm not sure lilshu is referring to vaccines and autism specifically--I think we all know that the amount of doctors who believe that vaccines cause autism is incalculably low--but that Ben Carson isn't necessarily intelligent in general because he's a doctor, which is exemplified by his political endeavors. Yeah- I've mentored a handful of folks who are about to get their MD's. Dumb as a sack of bricks but very dedicated to their careers.
