  1. With the new video they revealed dual wielding weapons and sheathing weapons/ shields. I believe I remember a certain topic about sheathing in rs suggestions some time ago. I guess what I'm trying to do here is be immature and say "first". :P
  2. areBot apparently has come up with an injection client. Still sounds like it's pretty high risk and unstable, but it is injection; you can tell because of the advanced object recognition that the scripts are using. No links here just to show that this isn't an advert. I'm sure you are all smart enough to use google.
  3. If you grabbed a player from 2003 and put them in 2k12 RS, they'd shizzle bricks. In a good way. The only thing that has gone down hill is the community. Pking is terrible, thanks to CI, #lemon, DDOSing, ect, and skilling is still recovering from having the :( botted out of it. The updates have been fantastic, though. Jagex has shown real innovation with Cluster flutter, and I have to say, while a Java based game will never have impeccable graphics, Runescape's have improved dramatically over the past two years. In addition to this, bosses are getting much better, no longer do you have the "just pray melee and mass it" strategy that was so common with gwd and corp. Quests are also improving, with reasonable puzzles, actual story line, and fewer nominal tasks and running around. However, to get everyone back into Runescape, I'd say we need a new skill.

    Explaining The Bots...

Woah, you're pretty far off there. Injection and reflection are actually pretty similar, as they both involve modifications to the source. RSBuddy's client, which was by far the most stable and efficient, was primarily injection based. By implementing cluster flutter Jagex thwarts both methods. As for Jacmob, you're right about the bot that they made (although I doubt they would bother to change from their old injection platform, so it would be mostly injection based), although the maintenance makes it completely impractical. There is no mystery surrounding Jacmob though, he is employed by Jagex. That much has been known since about a week after the nuke. Honestly, nothing you've said here is news. As for Jacmob's purpose, it would be less about stopping the 2% of bots, as they are pretty easy to identify, and Jagex's algorithms can already detect them, but more about keeping the 98% away, as the system will require maintenance to keep it from getting cracked. As for RSBuddy's client, no one knows what's happening with that, because they have to implement services in it exclusive to their VIPs, and, quite frankly, I can't imagine what on earth those will be for a Jagex sponsored client. They've hinted that it will be volumes better than SwiftKit, which is believable considering their bot client was more stable then the RS client, but I am excited to see what else they're keeping hidden.

    Sals View On Bridding

Honestly, I like hybriding, and I'm not bad; I can pull back to back 6 ways on a good day with a good mouse and setup, but I really don't have an account with appropriate stats or bank to do it. Because of that I brid on Legacy mostly, as you can get basic in about 3 seconds on that server. Hybriding is starting to die, but that is expected, because so many brids were really cheating the game by botting, hosting dicing and phishing their money, and with the shutdown of allot of those issues, people have run out of money to hybrid with. I think you'll always be able to find people bridding in basic in the right worlds, and theres always some people in ahrims. If I had to complain about one aspect that ruined hybriding, it would be spirit shields. Arcane SS is very overpowered, because with that and ahrims you can tank the vast majority of attacks; it really makes those people next to impossible to kill. Your only hope is a lucky claw or ags spec, and because of the way people eat these days, that spec has to be 700+ usually; not fun to try and do.

    Runescape Toolkit?

Jacmob is a legit programmer, regardless of his questionable past. I'd wait for his client.

    Just Got Hacked!

Yea, through 256 bit encryption and 5 login attempts every 5 minutes... dictionary attacks are woefully outdated; no one would even think of using one. My one question is this: have you watched any livestreams, played any private servers, downloaded any runescape related 3rd party software, or clicked allow on any applet having to do with runescape within the past month? Given how bad your account is, you didn't get recovered; too much effort for 5m. That only leaves RATs and keyloggers.

    Is Its Safe?

what's your point? W/e come back economy fudged but hey "Fudged"?... not really. More like slowly returning to pre bot prices.
  10. There you have it, from the horse's mouth. Botting is dead. Jacmob is a very adept coder, seeing as he is responsible for the best, most stable bot client of all time. I'd take this post very seriously.

I need help with Kamil, I have the ice trolls killed, but there is no way I can get to Kamil on my own. I have 15 prayer and 3 defense, I was planning on using fire wave and a cannon to kill him, but I need someone to tank the wolves. Thanks.

No ban, no reset, no items taken from me. Guess botting paid off.

RSbuddy uses injection, same thing really. The nuke will hit them, too.

    Frost Dragon Update

I think it might be more difficult then you think. The good clients display the object and animation numbers, and scripts use those numbers to determine what to do given the situation. The issue is, this is a particle based animation, which will not show up as an animation from client side, as it is done post model. This means that scripters can't determine when its coming.

    Could The War Be Over?

Lol rsbuddy is still running. Half the people on rsBuddy are 24/7ing their bots, the other half are laying low. Arbiter, a developer at RSbuddy, has given some suggestion that the reflection part of rsbuddy can be changed easily, but he seemed to shut up when it was mentioned that reflection based bots would get owned, too. That forum is empty because the client is very stable. I tested out bots, they still work fine. shizzle might go down on Tuesday, we'll see. There are still plenty of bots in game right now, though.

    Bot-busting And Bonuses For All

Hmm... time to see if I get banned. If they do actually get rid of bots, I will stop botting, too. I just believe in a level playing field.
  18. I didn't see this in updates or announcements, so I decided to put it here for people to talk about. Dear RuneScape Community, I would like to take a moment of your time to address the highly emotive issue that we face as a community – bots. At the beginning of the year, when we brought Free Trade and the Wilderness back, we promised that we would couple that with programmes that would combat the inevitable botting that would result from that decision. Over the last few months we have initiated a number of programmes to do this, some of which we have already mentioned to you, some of which we haven’t because of legal reasons and some because we do not want to warn gold farmers and bot makers about our counter measures. The challenge for us is that despite all of our programmes and best intentions the problem is still huge and, most annoyingly, still adversely impacting parts of our game. We are continuing to battle bots on all fronts. In an effort to be more open and transparent we wish to share a couple of measures and initiatives we are about to release/have released recently: We have recently improved our internal systems to be able to spot spam from the chat window and instantly mute the offender preventing the constant flow of communication from the gold farmers which are impacting the game experience. Your reports are very helpful to us here! Continuing our ongoing legal cases against bot developers. Mandatory email validation for new accounts will add extra account security and impair the mass account creation that gold farmers use. There are several other initiatives and actions that we plan to implement over the next few months and we will share these with you as often and in much detail as we can. The most significant of these is to come soon. Also, we recognise that we have not been the best at communicating what we are doing and that changes today. While we are winning small battles by spending significant money and resources in trying to combat this problem, the war is not going in our favour as we are struggling to keep up with companies whose only business 24 hours a day 7 days a week is to find ways to get bots into the game. As a result, one thing has become really clear to us despite our ongoing efforts. We cannot win this battle alone. We need your help. So how can you help? First, we would like to hear from you in a more coordinated way regarding your thoughts about how to fight the bots problem. We will be developing surveys to help us understand more about bots directly from you... we would love to hear your response. We would like to set up a special forum where we can have targeted Q&A’s and get formal feedback from you about specific initiatives. We will let you know when this forum is set up and invite you to join us. We hope that you will engage with and encourage your friends to use any tools that we provide to you that will help us identify and ban the bots like the Spam Filter feature. And finally, we would ask that you refrain from using bots or supporting gold farmers. If there is not a market, then bots will not exist. As was so eloquently put in a recent post on Tip.it “Standing up to Jagex [by voicing one’s opinion on the botting issue], one might argue, requires a certain amount of courage, but much more is required to stand up to one’s friends”. The player went on to say, “The community needs to stand up for itself by following the rules and shunning those who do not. Lacking customers, the websites that set up the bots will close, and the only botter will be the isolated real player. Ultimately, following the three pillars of the code of conduct that Jagex set up-“Honour,” “Respect,” and “Security” are a responsibility of the players and the community as much as they are of Jagex.” We are committed to ridding our game of bots. We are committed to providing a more open discussion with you about the real challenges that we face as a result of our efforts. We are committed to involving you more in this war so we can win this fight together. Most importantly, we are committed to continuing our investment in evolving and making RuneScape a great game to play and an amazing community to be a part of. Thanks, Daniel Clough Chief Operating Officer & Vice President of RuneScape

    Fire Blast Glitch?

Recently, say the last two days, I have found that my fire blast isn't hitting its normal max hit; in fact it isn't hitting anywhere close. I am level 86 magic, casting fire blast with a fire staff, in dungeeneering. Normally my max is 160, which is bad enough, but as of two days ago, I haven't hit over 146. Also, the one time I did hit a 146, it indicated it was my max hit. I also had one time where I supposedly maxed with a 126. If someone could confirm this glitch by trying out a F2P dungeon using fire blast it'd be great. I'm pretty sure that the other blast spells function just fine; I was hitting much better with air blast (go figure). I just want to make sure its not just me before I go complain to Jagex.

    Handy New Spell

Also, this would be next to useless for pking, as most people are in ancients or lunars. I guess people with the Storm of Armadyl spell might be able to use it, but that seems unlikely. Honestly, there are enough ways to bank your stuff right now, I'm happy.

    Ritual Of The Mahjarrat

I watched Sosolid2k's video of the boss fight, it looks pretty epic, but also pretty easy. Glad to see that Lucine gets it.

Holy s-omething! I am pumped, even though I'm f2p. Should add a whole new level of awesome to the game. Questing- the one thing bots can't do.

    In Hours Pl0x?

That 5:5 bonus is a really useful thing. It seems like a shame to just ignore it. I would 1:1 or 2:2 small rush the first 3rd of your floors. Then go public and take what you can get, you'd be surprised how easy it is to get all your floors. Remember you just need the floor theme, not the specific level.

The fact that Runescape is browser based is one of the biggest reasons for its popularity. This will never happen.
