Connecting a Wiimote to my PC via Bluetooth
Blingking502 posted a topic in Technology: Discussion and Help
I'm having the worst time trying to get this to work. I feel like I've read every tutorial online and it just doesn't seem to connect. So, I go through the general setup, Add Device, and all that and that part works just fine. Nintendo-RVL-CNT-01 shows up in my devices. The lights continue to flash on the Wiimote (is that good or bad? I really don't know) but I get no sort of recognition from it in WiinRemote or GlovePIE. Along with that, once I add the device, if I turn my Wiimote off (pop a battery out quick) and then try and reconnect pressing 1 and 2, the lights blink for a while then go dark. Any ideas on how to get this running? I've tried updating all my drivers, restarting my computer in just about every way, I just don't know. -
Transferring iTunes Library to a New Computer
Blingking502 posted a topic in Technology: Discussion and Help
I'm about to get a new laptop for school and I have to tackle the issue of transferring music to it. The music is the simple part, I have an external hard drive, all of it is backed up there and well organized and put together. What I'm more curious about is how I'd get all the information that I currently have in iTunes for it (album art, playlists, apps) to my new computer. I read through Apple's how to guide (Here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527) but they use iTune's consolidation to create that single package to move. That's not an option for me because of how small the hard drive my current laptop has, so the idea of creating a duplicate of all my music is out of the question. So what's my alternative? Is there a certain folder in the program files that I can just copy to retain it all? Or can I consolidate it directly on to the external hard drive? -
Is my laptop going to be powerful enough?

I've even switched again and I'm close to settling on an Alienware M14x, which I know will run whatever I need CAD wise, and I figure I might as well have a decent gaming machine. Here's specs at $1577: PROCESSOR 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM (6MB Cache, up to 3.3GHz w/ Turbo Boost 2.0) OPERATING SYSTEM Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit STUDENT-ONLY OFFER Promotional Xbox 360 - $199.99 discount applied to your PC + Xbox bundle MEMORY 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz HARD DRIVE 500GB 7,200 RPM SATA + 32GB mSATA Caching SSD VIDEO CARD 2 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M with Optimus™ LCD PANEL 14.0" High Def+ (900p/1600x900) with WLED backlight WIRELESS CARDS Killer Wireless-N 1202 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO for Gaming & Video and Bluetooth 4.0 INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVE Slot Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) Also, is the 32GB mSATA Caching SSD a worthy investment for the additional $75? -

How hard/expensive/logical would it be to get something else in the future if it isn't enough? Edit: Okay now I just realized that I can choose Ultrabooks and still get my student discount/Dell offer, I thought I was limited before. Does an NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 630M with 1GB GDDR5 VRAM along with the i7 sound better? -

These are the specs for the laptop I'm looking at getting right now for college next year. What I need to know is if you guys think it's going to be good enough to get me through a degree in Computer Aided Drafting. I don't really know anything about video cards or much about processing, so I came here. I believe I'm going to be using Solid Edge for most of the modeling. -

For any fans of The Wave (La Dispute, Touche Amore, Defeater), Pianos Become The Teeth's new album is really incredible.

Always has been a favorite.

Yeah there good. I saw them live last month, great gig one of the best ones I've been too. I prefer Touché Amoré though. Them and Touché Amoré are basically tied for my top two favorite bands. Touché was here this summer, but I was camping and couldn't go. Not only did I miss out on an amazing show from them, but since it was in Grand Rapids, La Dispute was there to watch.

Too many people are completely outraged about his lyrical content and attitude about stuff without realizing how it's all a big joke to him. Swearing isn't a big deal to me at all, and to a lot of people it isn't. That's just Tyler. If you follow him on Twitter, that's pretty obvious.

Anyone here a La Dispute fan? They're honestly probably my favorite band. Their new album comes out Oct 4th.

Yeah, it's Amir hah That was beautiful man.

Gears of War and Minecraft. It's not that I dislike Minecraft, it's just not a game that my mind supports. I don't have that creative spirit to create things out of nothing. Not my thing.

And guess where? Burger King. It was destiny hahah I hope someone else appreciates this.

Well lately I've been noticing that the display on my dad's laptop is getting weird and it seems to be getting worse making me think it wasn't something he screwed up, but maybe it's just my eyes. It seems like the brightness and contrast on it are super high, yet adjusting those through the Personalize>Display route doesn't seem to help anything. Most of the colors look fine and it seems decent, but the whites are blindingly bright. I don't know if it's a setting that just got screwed up some how or if it's actually a physical issue with the screen. It's a fairly new laptop. What things should I try and how can I do a sort of factory default reset on the display? It's an HP and I'm running Windows 7.
