  4. Twist of Fate

    Recap

Hi everyone! Been getting back into RS lately. I may even decide to start over with a new account. Anyways, I've been feeling real nostalgic from the good ol' days with ya'll, as I'm turning 30 in a couple months. Strange to look back at all the history and memories we made here through our computer screens. It's safe to say RS was more than a game for us. I mean, we're here on a help site, formed a clan, had events, celebrated achievements together, kept each other entertained for hours and days and years! I was always fortunate to have a good amount of IRL friends, but you all were as much a part of my life as them as well. We basically grew up together from all corners of the globe and I appreciate looking back at all the good times. Also it didn't take a psychologist to figure this one out, but yes I am on the autism spectrum and that explains why I was the way I was on here and in chat lol. I didn't even know until last year, I thought I was just a little weird. It's kinda been a journey through self-acceptance after going nearly 30 years not knowing why you are the way you are, but it's also validating. I know there are so many people just like me in the world, some of you too even. At the end of the day, it's just traits. Whether we have autism or not, there's always going to be people who like us or dislike us for our traits. Some of you really disliked me and I sure af don't blame you lmao. I didn't like myself either. I always knew something was wrong but I didn't know what. Like, "why am I like this? why can't I simply not be who am?". But it doesn't work that way, of course. I'm just glad I matured into someone I like. I have spent years playing in a band, getting on a buncha cool shows. I've visited 46/50 states, got my master's degree in sustainability, became a university professor, and more. After spending so many years in my youth not thinking I'd amount to anything, not understanding my disability or knowing I had one, I'm pretty happy about where I am in life. I'd like to hear what ya'll have been up to as well, so please do comment with a life update! We've come a long way since I joined this site 15 years ago. I feel like nobody truly quits RS forever lol. I saw how many people are still playing and those who are coming back, so I guess it was never goodbye, just brb. Take care, and see you around. -Taker (Twist of Fate) (Anthony) (Tony) (T-bone)

  6. Update: I have now visited 39 states. One of them was New Mexico. I was in the desert for days. In an RV. That is all you need to know at this time.

Sofee, it's so weird how we've all watched each other grow up from over the internet throughout Sal's existence. Can relate to the drinking. Not knowing what's gonna happen later in life. Though I was worse when I was a sophomore in high school in 2009 and drunk Runescaping lmao. Anyway, I hope and know that it's gonna all work out for you.
  10. Hey Y'all! As you guys know, I'm frequenting this place and the game from time to time. It's more economically efficient for me to buy membership on break so I'll see you in December/January in-game. Other than that, you may know I'm in a band. So we've recently released a new single called "October Skyline". It was written about 4 years ago before I even joined and I never heard our singer play it again until 2015. It was my favorite thing he's written. Anyway, we actually decided to use it and make a full-band version for our next album. If you'd like to check it out, send us a like on YouTube, share, subscribe, whatever, or just listen, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot, dudes and ladies. See you in December for some hangs. Let's skill or something.
  11. Things have changed here. I logged on to say hi to everyone. Strange to see how we all grew up together over a game and many are still here. Hope to catch you in-game before Christmas.

Thank you all! And Yeah Mikey Idk why. I think I was just pissed at the time because I've dealt with a lot of real-life harassment over having long hair at the time so that comment was kind of a trigger. I'll send you a req if you want it.

  13. Hey all, I'm back from PNW adventures in Portland and Seattle. My buddy lives out there so I thought I'd visit and see if I ever wanted to move out there as well. I'm sure natives would have a different perspective on the city, but I really enjoyed it. It's not like here in New York where the atmosphere is basically toxic and there's trash piling up in the streets. It's literally a concrete jungle. Seattle's pretty urban, but there are more suburban areas. It's quiet, save for some sea planes landing in Lake Union across the street. You could walk to the University of Washington and get a great view of Mount Rainier on a less cloudy day. I've found there's no point in going up the Space Needle because, well, you can't see the Space Needle from the Space Needle so what else is there? The public transit system isn't perfect, but it got me where I needed to go quick and easy. There is a lot to think about if I were to make this move, but I left the city with a positive opinion.
  14. Heading to Seattle in 15 days for some weird times. You won't find me @ the Space Needle or a Starbucks

    1. Guitarguy

      Guitarguy

But I thought Seattle was one giant Starbucks.

  19. Oo! Oo! You can make your vote useful despite the fact that you live in a solidly blue state! https://en.wikipedia...ki/Vote_pairing I love #FeelTheJohnson. Why choose the left nut or the right nut when you can have the Johnson? And yeah I've heard of vote sharing before and also the idea that popular vote doesn't matter for major parties, but it's absolutely everything for third party candidates. My third party vote can be useful after all!
  20. If we start a write-in campaign for Sal in Massachusetts and he wins, it splits the electoral vote and Paul Ryan can just make Sal president.

  21. As a former Bernie guy, voting for Gary was tantalizing until you realize that he doesn't align with your views at all and has also demonstrated two giant mess ups on mainstream media outlets in a very short amount of time. If his goal was to take votes away from Trump, knowing that he literally won't win, I get that. However, he also doesn't care if he takes votes from Hillary and gives Trump the win. Overall, he is just happy about being an alternative option. I respect that, but it's up to the American people to decide if he is worth protest voting over. I despise the two party system and would love to protest vote. I think that most of this country is actually sickened by the two choices we have this year. Well, I live in a solid blue state so I guess I'd be alright if I threw Gary or Jill a ballot or wrote in Harambe, but they haven't won my vote (sry Harambe rip). I think it's freaking rad that Gary climbed the tallest mountain on all 7 continents tho.
  22. The ads on this site used to be sexy. Like really sexy. Admittedly, I've been on this site for about 10 years, that's a whole decade. And most of the time I came on for the adverts and stayed for the banter.
  23. I'd drive it. 9/10
  24. I mean I'm at least I'm thinking it's at Lambeau. Green Bay isn't very huge lmao. But congrats! Best of luck on the Doctorate.
