We're all growing up. I'm very happy to see life is treating another old member of the community so well. We've never really talked much I believe, but I remember you and seeing you post here feels very nostalgic. Don't feel scared of interacting with Sal's Realm members in real life. I still keep contact with plenty on Facebook. I've grew to view them as more than just old community friends, but actual real life friends too.

You give me too much credit Zooey. But it's nice to be remembered as more than just an asshat. It's true we didn't interact as much as we could have, but I definitely remember you as being cool too and the person to go to when it came to chill and quality graphics. And of course I have it! Loved these little underbanners. I showed it to my girlfriend to brag about my nerdy achievements too. Hahaha. I also remember you serving as some sort of neutral ground between the staff here and the Benno group back during that drama mess. Mainly the only person we could reason with. Actually fun fact about Benno; years after I quit here I had another brief run at Old School RuneScape. I wasn't active at all, was just in it to join Damage Inc and PvP whenever possible. By then Sal's had already died down so much that I joined RuneScape Community for the Clan Section. I found out Benno had became a junior moderator of sorts there, and he wrote to me. We got talking about the old drama times, and how bad the whole situation had been. It was really nice to see how he grew up and became a rather cool guy, and helpful member of the RuneScape Community forums before they closed down. I also know I earned MoTM there and the Exclusive rank because he and PkPete pulled their strings of influence to get people to vote for me. I miss both of these guys. I never thought I'd say I'd miss Benn0 after all the trouble he caused us. But yeah, it would be really awesome if we could find a way to save everything. These are precious memories. Sal's Realm was part of my childhood and young adulthood far more than RuneScape itself ever was. I owe a lot of what I am today to the experiences and the people here. And some of you guys influenced me more than you possibly imagine. Especially Yuanrang. In a way I was one of his students, even if I never attended any of his classes.

Sorry to the people I was unable to give a like to! It seems there's a daily limit or something.

After all these years you are still the same insufferable, annoying and yet lovable all the same Guitarguy who can't get my name right. God damnit! Omg Sobend my dude! How's everything! You are by far one of the people I missed the most. Good times! And who are you, the proud lord said Leo! So nice to see you're still around! The person who took over my position as the top PvPer here. I missed all the fun stuff we used to do and talk about! Hope you're still kicking butt in the Wilderness. Howdy Chaoss! It's amazing you're still around too. I feel you've been here since forever. Part of the furniture! Oh my gosh this dude! How's family life going Eggy? I bet the kid's a young man (or woman, I forgot. Sorry!) now. You gotta tell me how everything's progressing. Soon enough I'll be having a family of my own and any tips would be amazing! Howdy Flames. Nice to see you popping back for a visit too. Oh please, like you weren't the moderator who liked me the most and even one of the people around with the most patience with me. Hahaha! Miss you a lot Yuan! You were like a mentor to me here, even if you never took the role. All I wanted was to be a good role model like you were.

Ah! I am forever stuck with a signature bragging about my petty achievements.

... but men do, through the roads they walk." - Me just now, blatantly stealing from Fallout And my road changed, and took me away from this place I spent so much time in as a teen and a young man. How long as it been? Probably half a decade only, and yet it feels it's been so much longer. I came here out of nostalgia, answering a question my future fiancé asked me about how I learned my English. I immediately thought of RuneScape, but more specifically of Sal's and the good times I spent here. The fun people, the drama, the competitions. Man I did miss this place. I wonder who's still around or even remembers me? I used to be cool I think. At least that's how I prefer to remember my times here. But I can easily admit looking back without bias that I was also tremendously cringe at some points, and immature beyond words. I prefer to believe I had a positive impact in this community though, the same way the community impacted me. Hope you're all faring well, and remain safe in this time of crisis. With the pandemic and all. Stay well friends. Miss you.

Forum Software Upgrade Due to Compromise

Honestly I'm happy with anything that's not white/bright. -
What happened to the value of my rare(s)??
Micael Fatia replied to As's question in RuneScape Questions
They made an event in which Party Hats, Santa Hats and H'ween masks would appear randomly in parts of the wilderness if I remember it right. People just hoarded them knowing they'd become 'rares' but because there's so many around now they have no real value. -

We'll agree to disagree then. I didn't come visit here to get into a pointless argument over something that won't impact me in the long run, so I don't get why my opinion and the manner I worded my dislike for the current skin matters. It's a matter of opinion in the end, and the bright skin does make it more difficult for me to deal with the site. Especially taking into account I have 12K posts, that should give you a fair idea of the time I spent here and how used I got to the old simple interface in which I > always < used dark skins. If I felt it was a minor thing, I wouldn't have brought it up to begin with. Anyway, how've you been? Long time no see. -

And I'm struggling to understand why it doesn't make sense. The skin itself makes it harder to navigate, purely because of the sore it is to the eyes. When you use DI's everything appears immediately neatly organized and super simple to interact with, and here it does the opposite effect. It truly drained me the first time I logged in trying to find the forums I was looking for and I'm used to look for in a heart beat after years and years using them. How can you 'counter' with something I acknowledged in my own posts and present it as a counter-argument? That's the only thing not making sense. I pointed out it was difficult to navigate, that it used the same software as the DI forums and the skin was most likely what was making it so difficult - in my own personal opinion - for me to come to terms with the new interface. And you replied with " don't agree, the Damage Inc forum is the exact same version and when I just visited it I had no trouble understand it. Sure this is different from the last Sal's version, but it only takes 2 seconds to learn the new layout. In any case it's not going to change so complaining won't solve anything." To which I'd like to point out the following - 1) I stated it used the same software as the DI forums 2) I pointed out after Fatalysm commented that I too thought the skin was likely the main problem that was making it so difficult to me 3) I shared my opinion, didn't make any demands for changes to be made to forums I don't intend to get back to using regularly; so suggesting I should take "2 seconds to learn the new layout" and that I should stop complaining because I voiced my opinion is quite uncalled for. -
osrs Damage Incorporated: A New Era
Micael Fatia replied to Micael Fatia's topic in Clan Events & Discussion
I am. For now at least, unless I get terribly bored or something happens irl draining all my time and motivation to play. Yes I am. I've been accepted as an applicant recently. Looking to have some fun, but got involved in beef already. Geez. Seems some moronic DK leader wants to crash me because I may have... 'slightly' embarrassed him in a dumb argument he started. And now he's in full obsession state. And Damage Inc just got into a crash war versus RoT. Or rather, RoT declared a dumb crash war over stupid reasons. All in all, a great first week. If you meet the requirements it'd be neat to have you! Though there's so much crashing shizzle in the clan world nowadays that I'm not sure you'd find it enjoyable. Yeah, and we all consider the clan world is pretty much dead now. Imagine this times 100 and you'd get an idea of what clanning was like some years ago.- 4 replies

Forum Software Upgrade Due to Compromise
Micael Fatia replied to Salmoneus's topic in Website and Forum Announcements
Uh, what lol. So you don't agree... by agreeing with exactly what I said? :P As I pointed out the Damage Inc forums are the exact same, and much easier to navigate/bear most likely because of the bright skin here. DI's is so much better it makes it appear both forums are using different software. -

Micael Fatia replied to Salmoneus's topic in Website and Forum Announcements
Trust me, it's incredibly difficult to navigate. It must be the skin, because I'm having a hard time finding things and just adapting to it's overall look. The Damage Inc forums have the same software, and they're nowhere near as hard to navigate. I'm guessing the Sal's forums haven't been tinkered around with yet, or have been too much because there's definitely something... wrong. -

Micael Fatia replied to As's question in RuneScape Questions
The OSRS ones are extremely cheap because there's a bajillion of them around. You could literally PK with Santa hats and lose like 20K doing so. -
Been playing OSRS but don't really use the Sal's forums anymore. There just isn't enough activity here to justify having a regular presence. Mostly use RSC and DI forums nowadays.

My gosh, I absolutely hate the new interface. It's so much harder to navigate and the super bright white forum skin is incredibly annoying. -
If anyone decides to give Digimon Masters Online (it's on Steam now) let me know!

Hello there Sal's. Just thought about dropping by to ask you ladies, gentlemen and Sobend a question that I've been wondering about ever since I stumbled upon this quote by the great Aristotles. What do you think he meant when he said 'A friend to all is a friend to none'? I guess the most basic interpretation, and the one I personally believe to be the correct one (Occam's razor), is that a person who is friends with everyone isn't capable of creating meaningful and complex relationships. If you're friends with everyone and can't pick a few people to stand out in your life, then nobody is truly special to you, and I feel that makes you lose some important parts of the experience that being a human being is. I guess that's why we feel jealous when others get too close to our best friends/loved ones sometimes, and can't help but feel a little salty/upset. Like we fear losing our importance to the people we see being friendly with others, whom we fear may replace us in a sense. Too much isn't healthy, as it becomes obsession, but it's a very unique and special feeling knowing we're loved and have a select few who count with us and cherish our presence in their lives a bit (or even a lot) above all rest. It can give a sense of purpose to some people. I suppose what Aristotle meant by that, is that we create the strongest connections and friendships with a select few that we choose to cater to and treat in a special manner. Just like others sometimes do for us. And if we treat everyone the same manner in this aspect, having too many "close" friends, the way you treat your special ones stops being... special. How can your best friend see that you think of them as a best friend, if you interact the same manner with them as you interact with everyone else, share the same experiences and secrets? So, in your opinion what is the meaning in that famous quote of Aristotle? Do you agree with a view similar to my own, or perhaps that he simply meant a person who acts friendly with everyone is usually a false person who merely seeks to integrate and please, not by being themselves but simply by catering to the apparent needs of all others, often entering the realm of contradictions? Or do you believe the old philosopher merely had had too much wine and was spouting nonsense at the time, and someone decided to record it for the lols in some sort of classical times phone video equivalent? Discuss! (Or, well, just say what you think the manner you want)

It's been a while since anyone posted here. I guess I'll just gloat at the fact Benfica won 3 leagues in a round and is well placed to win the fourth. :P Also Ronaldo is #1 again. Yay!

I voted for Dark chocolate too. The poll options aren't very specific so it's tough to decide. :P Seeing as we seem to be choosing only the most basic chocolate types, I'm not sure in what category the likes of Raffaello and Guylian fall in. Edit: Also friggin' mint chocolate is delicious.
