  1. I've been playing my own game whenever I listen to music or podcasts for like the last month. I racked up about 100 hours of work and my computer just crashed and lost it all
  2. I was thinking exactly the same thing.
  3. I tried out SMNC and it was a little weird. I only played a round, but I get the feeling it's not for me.
  4. That sounds like a reasonable option for people who really have no choice other than to play it offline. The game could make you set up a character for offline play and once that setting is picked it could lock that character out of anything that could break the game. If anyone has a pass they're willing to send my way that'd be very much appreciated. I'd like to see how it ran on my comp.
  5. Borderlands box art... classy as always.
  6. I really want to buy this game, but it looks like I'll have to wait a few weeks :( I wish it had a trial to give it a go while I wait. How's the story?
  7. As you progress, you'll become frustrated with the cloned areas and the way they handled the story in such a poor way. Add that in with a disappointing ending and there is a lot of DA2 hate. That said, DA2 had some great ideas and I liked the combat mechanics more than in Origins, but overall it was a major let-down for me personally. Perhaps you will think otherwise. Either way, it is worth a playthrough, but anything beyond that.... I am not so sure. :P Yeah I have noticed I've run through a few dungeons three times each. Seems really lazy when you think of the scope of the first. I like having the Mass Effect conversation wheel, but they ruined what made Dragon Age so great to me. In two they made the distinction between good and bad decisions. Everything in the first felt like it had shades of gray and it was the first time a game let me choose without some penalty for not being a perfect hero. There weren't any "right" choices like there are in the second. I'm also getting annoyed with the reinforcement mechanic of EVERY single battle. It seems like every encounter another wave of enemies sweeps in just as you kill the first. Seems like they're just trying to draw things out. I still prefer the combat in the first game, though I can totally see why people would like the second more. The first felt slow and methodical like a tactical game while this feels more like an action rpg. It's quite different for looking so similar.
  8. Bought Dragon Age 2. While the first one was definitely way better, all the hate was a little much. Though I'm only 12 hours in so maybe things get dragged out.
  9. Time to get the conversation going again. (Yes I'm rising from the grave along with this thread). How is Tribes? I've never played the original, but it seems like it's really hard to get into. I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon for college. Anyone have a suggestion for a gaming one? I want atleast a 1.5gb graphics card. Tribes is amazing. It's free to play, though I've dropped 20 bucks for some goodies. Have like 45 hours logged. Such a fun game, easy to get into and high replayability. I might give it a try this week if I'm not too busy. It sounds really good, but I feel like I'm going to get wrecked for the first ten hours or so. Not really. The matchmaking puts pretty much all the people under level 6 together, so you won't get completely annihilated. I'll have to try it then. It looks a lot like Quake or UT.
  10. Yes and no. I feel like among rpg fans they all know and love it, but among gamers as a whole they do not. To be fair, gamers as a whole know nothing other then FPS or those Wii Sports games, casuals that they are. Aside from the few games that break through that, like Skyrim and Mass Effect, it's sadly true.
  11. If Microsoft announce whatever Durango truly is consolewise at E3 this year, and then say it's going to release before 2012 is out.....No. It just isn't going to happen. 2013. And a probably 2014 for PS4/Orbis My guess is that we won't see the new Xbox until next E3 and it will come out early 2014. Well Microsoft has essentially confirmed no Durango at E3 2012. Of course, they've said that about other things before.... Yeah those comments really need to be taken with a grain of salt. Though I am inclined to believe them since they would've probably just said, "Microsoft does not comment on rumors and speculation" otherwise.

MSI makes some good gaming laptops, if you have a budget that would help I'm looking to spend arround $1500. Time to get the conversation going again. 14. Going way back to a game none of you probably heard of, I loved loccomotion on pc. It was a tycoon game all about transportation and building up cities through it. More recently, I feel like Dragon Age: Origins, while still popular, is really under appreciated since it was basically a PC only game.
