So I was bored and seeing how the place is dead, I decided that this is the perfect time for an RP. This is a relatively basic RP with a simple premise and story so people wouldn't feel too overwhelmed.
Malmstrom Air Force Base
Cascade County
Montana
0800 Hours
Major General Rodney Erickson strode into the briefing room, causing the soldiers previously chattering excitedly amongst themselves to stand sharply to attention. The Major General motioned for them to sit as he nodded at the technicians working the projector at the back of the room. Receiving the signal, the technicians quickly pressed several buttons and turned several knobs on several different complicated-looking machines around them before the projector ejected a beam of light onto the white board. Almost as if on cue, the lights in the room dimmed.
"Good morning ladies and gentlemen," began the Major General. "I think it's safe to say all of you are wondering why I've called each of you to this meeting. The reason is because you are one of the best, and also discreet. Whatever is said in this room... may never leave the walls."
With that, the room erupted into quiet whispers and erratic murmurings.
"Now, I'm gonna hand the briefing over to Special Agent Johnny Church."
A man in a black suit, previously unnoticed by everyone in the room, quietly stood up from the rows of seats in the briefing room and took the Major General's place who promptly took a seat alongside the soldiers.
"At 1800 hours yesterday evening, a top secret underground government research facility here in Montana went dark after a distress signal was sent out. A perimeter was set up an hour later and a team sent in to assess the situation. Problem is, they never came back."
The projector displayed a map of the entrance to the facility, disguised as an old abandoned saw mill.
"That's where you come in. Get inside, find out what happened and report back topside. Remember, this mission is strictly confidential. Any mention of this outside these walls will see the offender punished severely. Everything is on a need to know basis. The less you know, the better."
