I've just spent the last few hours writing my first article in a few months. For the first time this article is not on the subject of professional wrestling, but is on the Tudor Dynasty on the Throne of England.
So, in a bit of shameless self advertisement, I thought I'd post the link here, and, if anyone is curious enough to read it, try and get some feedback. Mainly because writing is not my strong point, and since it's something I actually enjoy doing from time to time, would like tips!
It's my favourite event of the WWE calendar, and I'm surprised I haven't blogged about it before now. Because it's coming up in just four days, this Sunday!
For me, it's always been the most exciting event of the year, even moreso than Wrestlemania, because every year there's always a number of surprises in terms of entries, exciting spots in a match and they usually throw a curve ball for the winner. Usually.
So I'm going to use this blog as my means of predicting a few things:
First of all, surprise entries:
1. Christian (returning from injury)
2. Mankind (Mick Foley is in this year's rumble, and we haven't seen him as Mankind for years)
3. JBL
Second, the winner:
- Chris Jericho
1st entry is already confirmed to be the Miz. My prediction for the 30th entry is John Cena.
I think this year Kane will get at least 5 eliminations, making him the guy with the most eliminations in history.
For anyone interested, this is the promotional video for the event this Sunday, it's 4 and a half minutes long but it's a brilliant video.
Well, technically, I finished all my Christmas shopping last weekend, but the entire house (all 7 of us) took the days off work and school respectively, and went into Belfast at midday to spend a day shopping in Belfast and an evening at the Belfast Christmas Continental Market.
The market comes every year and it's truly wonderful, it's set up for a month over the Christmas period outside the city hall, and has stands with foods from all over the world. Yet, naturally, any time I go there I fail to buy anything other than Hog Roast straight from Wales
There's also a huge beer hall set up, and stalls with various shiny bits and bobs trying to lure in those who are obsessed with buying tat that won't last the journey home (like me!).
And to top it off, when I woke up this morning, the whole world had a three foot blanket of snow! Christmas! (as much as I hate the snow, it was a nice concept, going to the Christmas market amidst a snowstorm).
We spent a good 6 hours in the middle of Belfast shopping too, where I bought myself an new coat, a keyring with an ice scraper on it for the car, and an angry birds hat!
Weekend is obviously off to a great start when the first thing that happens when you get home, is to read a letter that states:
"Dear Customer *************
We are writing to inform you that due to highly suspicious activity on your card we have blocked certain transactions and temporarily disabled your online account, please telephone us to confirm these activities are not fraudulent and your account can be restored."
Then I checked my e-mails, and the company who I ordered some DVDs off on Amazon have replied saying the courier lost my parcel, and I have now been re-funded, and the item I wanted is no longer being sold.
This is undoubtedly the most excited I've ever gotten over a video game - and this video is the reason why:
Now can you dig that - Suckaaaaaaaaaaaa?
Also - I bought myself a card holding binder, a starter pack and ten more packets of WWE trading cards today -I am now an official collector of WWE Slam Attax ^_^
I've been watching clips of Charmed all morning on Youtube, and I have to say, I really miss it.
That, along with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel really made up my TV viewing for a good few years.
So, I left N.I on Thursday and went to England by boat, we went straight from the docks to my cousin's house where I met my new baby cousin for the first time, (if I can get a hold of one of the pictures I'll upload it later)
He's absolutely tiny and didn't wake up once despite being passed around like ticking time bomb :)
My Grandma and Grandad's Golden Wedding Anniversary was last night, and we had a party with around 100 people (mostly old) in attendance, and it was nice seeing people I haven't seen for a good 8-9 years now since I live in Northern Ireland rather than England.
I'll be on and off for the next two weeks now, in England at Wales before going home on the 6th of July :)
The upper sixth at my school finish forever tomorrow.
It's quite a sad day for me, because not only am I great friends with a whole host of them, I won't get to see of them very much /at all/ from tomorrow onwards.
A lot of them are moving out of the country for university, and it's quite a shame.
Particularly the 10-20 people I made good friends with on the recent school trip to USA, I don't feel I got to spend enough time with them!
I'm really looking forward to next year though when it's my turn to leave, it's madness!
At lunch teachers were sitting with pupils, pupils were sitting in teacher's tables, water balloons were flying and fire alarms were ringing!
We have to watch a pile of performances and videos by the leaving year tomorrow morning for 2 hours, and say goodbye to them.
I'll be an emotional wreck
As it turns out, Fatal Four Way was the one-or-two PPVs a year that we got for free in the UK :)
Not that they'll read this... But I felt bad slagging them off now :P
Currently got about 100 minutes of it left to watch and loving it so far :)
Stay tuned for my thoughts on it :)
