One thing that concerns me greatly with the upcoming Agility rework, is the possibility that the skill cape may lose its prestige. As in Jagex making the cape easier to earn, via faster XP and more afkable methods. What do you think are the possibilities of this happening? Id hate to spend 200 hours of clicking earning my Agility cape, only for it to become so much easier. Thoughts? Thanks guys.

Hey guys, I am looking for your total honest opinion. I am currently going for my first 99, and basically I want it to be special. What I am looking for is a respected and reasonably difficult skill cape (minus 120 Dung). I have multiple parts in this post that I'm looking for your answer. Firstly, Divination. This is one of the skills I am considering. How respected do you believe 99 Divination is, and how common do you think it will become in the future? I find XP rates quite slow, so it leads me to believe this is quite a decent skill cape and a reasonable choice. Your opinion? And secondly, being more general, the other skills I am considering are Slayer, Agility and Mining. How respected is Slayer now after EoC compared with other skills? And with Agility and Mining, I have concerns the upcoming reworks may make these capes more common? Basically I'm asking what would you suggest out of these skills + div for my first 99? Or is there another skill? P.S Im not looking for a buyable one. Thoughts? Thanks guys.

'Or Eat Pies' Old School Log Lacking Pies I am in need of a banner, so if you are good at such things and interested in making one please let me know! ~~~Table of Contents~~~ 01. Introduction 02. What's Current 03. My Goals 04. Questing! 05. Combat and Slayer 01. Introduction Welcome one and all, fellow 'Scapers and Slammers, to my humble log no longer involving too many Pies. This is the boring part where I talk a little about myself and my Runescape self for all those interested. For all those not interested, I would like to direct you to the "What's Current" section of my log. A lot of you reading this log probably joined this forum after I went inactive (which happened a lot in my career, but for our purposes here I mean the final time when I went inactive for four years) and have absolutely no idea who I am. Also, a lot of you probably did use the forum but still didn't know who I was because I mostly never left this sub-forum. :P But hopefully as I come back to the world of Runescape and Sal's Forum's I will see at least a few familiar faces. If you don't care to find out who's being the computer screen on this end then don't read this section. My real name is Nathan, or Nate, I'm okay with indulging that bit of information because my username on Sal's was actually 'Nate' for a very long time. I attend school full time currently at a university but I live at home with my parents and commute to class/take online classes. So I get to miss out on all the fun parts of college, but we do those anyway our own way. I also work two jobs while going to school, 40 hours a week combined, and still somehow barely have money. Aside from all that fun stuff, and this game, I also enjoy a lot of outdoor activities; longboarding, skateboarding, I'm going to start freeboarding, disc golfing, golfing, camping, hiking, road trips, and I plan on running a Tough Mudder this summer. I also love reading, but not when it's for class. I am set to leave halfway through this summer for Air Force Basic Military Training, I'm going in for Security Forces, and I really hope to see the world. My Runescape career started when I was pretty young. I began playing in 2005, I believe, on an account no longer ranked on the hi-scores (in fact, none of my old accounts are now, can anybody tell me why this is?) named either Armyboy_1818 or Armydude_1818. I played on this account for a while, noobing out and getting the feel for the game. I made several accounts while playing on this one that I never really got into. But probably around 2007 and 2008 I started really getting into pures. I made so many I can't even remember the names of all of them, sometimes they'll randomly come to me. But I never really got successful at PKing. I started a few Level 3 Skillers as well because I had so much respect for them when I saw them. You might be wondering why Pies are all over the beginning and title of my log, besides the fact that my Username is 'Pies.' Well back around this time I was in Sal's clan chat, where I used to be a regular, and Fractangle, a few others and I were talking about the Evil Chicken. I'm not sure exactly how it happened now, but I'm pretty sure Fractangle and joked about the Chicken saying "Begone, Or Eat Pies!" and I thought it was a great idea, logged out, and BAM, 'Or_Eat_Pies' was born. That is the name that any of my old friends will remember me as. From that day forward I always got a laugh from Random Events, and Fractangle and I remained friends for a few years after until I went inactive. A few weeks ago I heard that Old School was coming back from a friend at work. I went home, bought the $2 membership, and then I was sucked right back into the crack-like addiction that is Runescape. Unfortunately I was not able to figure out the details for that account or any other account, so I made a new account, 'Toufer,' pronounced (Two-fur). And I'm ready to get back into the game, and hopefully reconnect with some old friends! Enjoy my log! Please leave a comment Any and all criticism is encouraged Any and all advise is welcomed Any and all support is awesome! 02. What's Current In this section I will post my current bank, my current quest points, my current skill levels, and maybe some more if I think of anything else... Current Quest Points: 8 (Expect this to be rising, as I am working on quests currently Current Cash Pile: 32K Current Total Level: 527 This bank is out-dated, I will get a current one up soon. My Old School Tracker: http://www.07tracker.com/track/toufer 03. My Goals My Long-term Goals are... Attack [ 40 / 70 ] Strength [ 32 / 70 ] Defence [ 32 / 70 Hitpoints [ 34 / XX ] - No real goal for Hitpoints; whatever happens, happens. Ranged [ 21 / 70 ] Mage [ 1 / 60 ] Prayer [ 16 / 56 ] Fishing [ 61 / 80 ] Cooking [ 57 / 80 ] Woodcutting [ 57 / 80 ] Firemaking [50 / 80 ] Fletching [ 19 / 80 ] Mining [ 19 / 60 ] Smithing [ 30 / 60 ] Crafting [ 1 / 60 ] Farming [ 1 / 50 ] Herblore [ 1 /50 ] Thieving [ 27 / 60 ] Agility [ 1 / 60 ] Slayer [ 22 / XX ] - Slayer will be my main means of raising Combat, no exact long-term goal for Slayer at the moment. Hunter [ 1 / 80 ] Construction [ 1 / 50 ] Completing all of these in 4 months while be near impossible. Maybe for some players it would be easy, but my Runescape background is mainly pures and Level 3 Skillers who are pretty limited in their training areas. It will be nice to use more of Runescape's features though. My current, short-term goals are... Attack [ 40 / 60 ] Strength [ 32 / 60 ] Defence [ 32 / 60 ] Hitpoints [ 34 / XX ] Ranged [ 21 / 70 ] Magic [ 1 / 60 ] Prayer [ 16 / 43 ] Fishing [ 61 / 70] Cooking [ 57 / 70 ] Woodcutting [ 57 / 70 ] Mining [ 18 / 40 ] Smithing [ 30 / 40 ] Slayer [ 22 / 50 ] Big Goal! Other Goals... Total Level [ 445 / 1000 ] Quest Points [ 8 / 100 ] Cash Pile [ 135K / 5M ] These will definitely be doable in that 4 months. I will achieve all of these short-term and miscellaneous goals. My Old School Tracker: http://www.07tracker.com/track/toufer 04. Questing This is the section where I will post all of questing information, achievements, maybe tips if I come up with them, and the what not. Also, I might ask some questing questions here, so if you can answer them for me then please do! Quest points goal [ 9 / 100 ] Got an Ice Warriors Slayer Assignment recently so I completed the Quest Knight's Sword! Got me 30 Smithing, I've been the lazy the past few days so no pictures. Just completed Tree Gnome Village, with the generous help of a friend who sat and blocked the Level 112 for me while I shot 500 Arrows at him to kill him. I have never before done this quest in my career, could anyone advise me on the spirit trees? Are they even useful? I couldn't find a guide about them. I completed Witch's House for a little Hitpoints experience to offset the experience from Waterfall, which I forgot to take a picture of. I also completed Waterfall and Cook's Assistant when I first started the account. 05. Combat and Slayer I was originally going to make my account a pure, but that's always limited my playing of the game. So I decided to hell with that, I'm going to play parts of the game I never got to before now. Attack [ 40 / 60 / 70 ] I competed Tree Gnome Village for 36 Attack recently, shooting for 40 first, then some Strength, and then I'll shoot for 60 and do some more Questing! Strength [ 32 / 60 / 70 ] I plan on keeping Strength even, if not a bit higher, than my Attack. In the past I've usually kept Strength a lot higher, but I'm going to keep a balanced player. Defence [ 32 / 60 / 70 ] I plan on keeping Defenced balanced as well, and I really need to start training it soon! Hitpoints [ 34 / XX / XX ] Hitpoints I won't worry about, it will be what it is. Ranged [ 21 / 70 ] I believe I almost reached 70 Ranged on 'Or_Eat_Pies,' but I didn't quite make it. I would love to get this achievement for once. Magic [ 1 / 60 / 80 ] I definitely need to get 45 soon for teleports. It's either a pain or a money-hole to train though. Prayer [ 16 / 44 / 70 ] I will just bury all the bones I get from combat as well as those I see laying around. I don't plan to buy any unless I don't get to my goal as planned. Hitpoints [ 34 / XX / XX ] I have no plans to specifically go for Hitpoints through combat, or not to. What happens, happens. Slayer [ 22 / 50 / XX ] I plan on raising Slayer as high as I can as early as I can, it's always a skill I've loved, even if I haven't done much of it. NOTE: There will be more coming soon, this much took me long enough. :P Oh and we happened to be friends add me in-game and send me a message! Username is 'Toufer' Shout out too... I am starting up a clan, but unfortunately I do not have anyone to start it up with. I am looking for one or two other people who would like to help me make this happen. The main focus of the clan would be Skilling, but it would include some combat events and social gatherings (House Parties, Giveaways, Ect). I'm not going to be too specific when it comes to requirements for a leader, but here's what I'm looking for: -1,000+ Skill Level (Not very high) -Friendly to other players -Frequently active on RS -Above average knowledge of RS, preferably in Skills -Live in the U.S. (For communication reasons) As you can see, the requirements aren't too high. Even if you don't meet one, if you seem like a cool guy I can definitely look past them. I'm not trying to create a clan that will compete with the Top 10 Clans on RS. All I am looking for in this clan is to form a group of pretty cool people who can chill out and skill together. I've been a part of multiple clans in the past, and I find the most fun ones to be relaxed ones, versus clans who are super serious. Recruitment, though, will be in a sense serious, because I'd rather not have a bunch of nine year-olds being annoying and trying to "Troll". One last thing is I do not currently have a name for the clan (I'm not a very creative person), so I am 100% open to suggestions. Even if you are reading this and don't want to be a part of the clan, I am still open to suggestions on what to call it. Please PM me in game if you are interested. I have my Private chat set to Friends (To avoid spamming from random people) so if you would like to be a part of this clan, make sure to post a reply including your RSN. Thanks, and have a nice day :D

Hey guys, so skill guides aren't my strong point but we should get this EOC stuff done. This is a very rough guide and will need lots of help and additions will be made by me and hopefully you too over the course of this guide's progress. Attack Written by: TakerMayFire (Twist of Fate) Original guide by: Skandal Special thanks to: Sobend, Hunter, Wartoc1 Attack is an important aspect of combat, as it determines how accurate your hits will be on your opponents. As your Attack level increases, you'll be able to wield stronger weapons. Table of Contents Attack types Attack classes Weapons Temporary bonuses Attack type Melee attack types involves slash, crush, and stab. Each weapon has one style of attack, a different strength, and each monster or other player has a weakness to them. For example, instead of selecting your attack style for each weapon, an abyssal whip is exclusively a slash weapon and you can choose what skill to gain experience in if you click on the combat interface (the two crossed swords to the top left of your inventory). When you use a certain weapon, you'll be able to choose where you gain experience when you cause damage to an enemy through the combat menu. You will always earn experience in Constitution. You can earn experience in attack, defense, or strength depending on what you select from the menu. Selecting "Attack, strength, and defense" will reward you shared experience in those three skills. You will also notice the Auto Retaliate button. Auto Retaliate basically tells your character what to do when you are attacked by another force. If you have this option on, then your character will instantly start fighting back. If this option is off, then your character will stand and do nothing, until you right click on the force and select the option to "Attack". Attack classes If you select the helmet icon (in the above picture), you'll see the equipment you are wearing. At the bottom of the body menu, you should find a button labeled "Show Equipment Stats". Clicking that button will pop up a box showing what you're wearing, an enlarged picture of yourself, and your stats. For now, we'll only discuss the Attack Bonuses, but you'll also see a number of other bonuses as well as stats for offhand weapons and armor. Damage decides how high damage per hit is. The base damage is the bonus in the selected attack type skill. Accuracy shows the frequency of your damage. You also have a chance of making critical hits which is shown as a percentage. The type shows the weapon's attack type. Speed displays the rate of attack. The speeds are either average, fast, or fastest. Here are the different types of attacks as well as strengths and weaknesses. Stab - a penetrating attack, common with Daggers. Effective against chainmail. Slash - a very common "swiping" attack. Effective against light armor like robes or Dragonhide. Crush - a common attack with Maces, Hammers and Mauls. It's very effective against heavy armor like platemail. Magic - often negated by armor and weapons, but can be increased with staffs. Allows you to hit harder with Magic. Ranged - Often negated by full helmets and armor. It allows you to hit harder with ranged equipment. Strength - This effects how hard you hit. Better metals will give higher strength bonuses. Weapons Stab Weapons Training Short Sword In Lumbridge, you'll come across an Attack Tutor, who will give you a free Training Short Sword. This item (like all other Training items) can't be dropped or traded to other players. Types: Training Advantage: Speed Attack Styles: Stab (Accurate) Lunge (Aggressive) Slash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Styles: Stab Daggers The dagger is the most basic weapon in the game and is pretty fast. Its speed will give you an advantage over low Defence monsters and players. It is one handed. Types: Daggers come in all metal. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: Speed and the ability to be poisoned. Attack Styles: Stab (Accurate) Lunge (Aggressive) Slash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Stab Short Swords The short sword is a fast weapon mainly used for stabbing. They deal a little more damage than daggers, but they're not quite as good as a Long Sword. Best to stick with Long Swords if you can afford them. 1 Handed. Types: Short swords come in all metals except for dragon. (Bronze-Rune) Advantage: Speed Attack Styles: Stab (Accurate) Lunge (Aggressive) Slash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Long Swords Long swords are another popular weapon in the game. They too have a good compromise between speed and strength. A weapon popular with members the long sword is usually the choice of weapon to go in the wilderness while in a Members world. It is one handed. Types: Long Swords come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: Moderate speed & Moderate strength. Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Slash (Aggressive) Lunge (Controlled) Block (Defensive) Hatchets Hatchets are fast but weak, as they are made for Woodcutting. They have lower bonuses than regular items or the sort. 1 Handed. Types: Hatchets come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: High Speed, Cuts wood Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Hack (Aggressive) Smash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Chop Spears Spears are rarely used in the game. The spear is both slow and weak but has all styles of attack. It is members only and is 2 handed, except for the Bone Spear. They are the only weapon classes that can be poisoned with Karambwan Poison (KP). Types: Spears come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: All attack styles. Attack Styles: Lunge (Controlled) Swipe (Controlled) Pound (Controlled) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Lunge Slash Weapons 2-Handed Swords Questionably the most powerful weapon in RuneScape, but not the most widely used. Due to their size, you must hold a 2 Handed sword with, yes, both hands, so you cannot use a shield. Despite this, the 2 Handed sword was considered by most to be the "Best" weapon in RuneScape Classic, due to its general power. This changed when the newer RuneScape was launched, and the speed of the 2 handed sword became a problem. Always a good weapon to use when showing off your Maximum Hit, but now rather neglected otherwise. Also, when a 2-Handed Sword is equipped and the character is wearing a cape, the bottom of the cape moves back and forth. Types: 2 handed swords come in all metals, from Bronze to Dragon. Advantage: Very high damage. Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Slash (Aggressive) Smash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Any, against platemail. Scimitars The scimitar is a weapon most used throughout the F2P worlds. A good compromise between speed and strength the scimitar proves to be a very popular weapon with most players. This weapon will give you an advantage over low Defence monsters and players. It is one handed. Types: Scimitars come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: Fast speed & Moderate strength. Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Slash (Aggressive) Lunge (Controlled) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Slash Halberds Slow but strong, the halberd is one of the more popular weapons. Despite it being slow many players use it as it has a great advantage of being able to attack two square distances away and even over some obstacles. They are Members-Only, hard to obtain and 2 Handed. Types: Halberds come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: High damage, Attack from 2 Squares Attack Styles: Jab (Controlled) Swipe (Aggressive) Fend (Defensive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Swipe Claws Claws are nearly the same as daggers, and they are just as fast as them. They cannot be poisoned. They are 2 Handed and Members only. You must complete theDeath Plateau Quest to make them. Types: Claws come in all metals, from Bronze to Dragon. Advantage: Speed Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Slash (Aggressive) Lunge (Controlled) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Slash Abyssal Whip The Abyssal Whip is most probably the best weapon in the game. The abyssal whip is both fast and strong. It is a one handed weapon and is the weapon of choice for all those who can afford it. It can be obtained by slaying Abyssal Demons. It requires 70 attack to wield and is called a whip for short. Advantage: Deals high damage and fast. Attack Styles: Flick (Accurate) Lash (Controlled) Deflect (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Slash The only real disadvantage of the Abyssal Whip is the fact that you can't train Strength with it, unless you use the "Controlled" style which also trains your other combat stats. Crush Weapons Pickaxes Pickaxes are very weak and are not considered good weapon, as they are slow and cumbersome... they are 1 handed. They're general purpose is Mining, not combat Types: Pickaxes come in all metals, except black and dragon. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: Mining, Smashing Attack Attack Styles: Spike (Accurate) Impale (Aggressive) Smash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Impale Or Smash Maces The mace is a crushing weapon used mainly by monks or prayer beasts due to its slight prayer bonus. Rarely used because of it's low max hit, which makes them relatively cheap. This weapon is good against platemail. It is one handed. Types: Maces come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: Slight prayer bonus & good against platemail. Attack Styles: Pound (Accurate) Pummel (Aggressive) Spike (Controlled) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Spike Battle Axes Battle axes are slow but strong. They are used commonly in the game and acts as way of dealing high damage without compromising your Defence by removing your shield. They are good against high and low Defence monsters and players because of its attack styles. 1 Handed. Types: Battle axes come in all metals. (Bronze-Dragon) Advantage: High damage without compromising Defence Attack Styles: Chop (Accurate) Hack (Aggressive) Smash (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Smash on platemail, Hack on robes and dragon hide. Warhammers These bulky weapons are newer to the runescape world. They boast a very high strength, but have quite a slow attack speed. Some think their power overcomes this disadvantage. 1 Handed. Types: Warhammers come in all metal except for dragon. (Bronze-Rune) Advantage: Very high damage. Attack Styles: Pound (Accurate) Pummel (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Any, against platemail. Blackjacks & Clubs Clubs have strong smashing bonus (Bone Clubs), Blackjacks can stun. They are one handed. Bone Clubs can be found in Lost Tribe Mines, and blackjacks in The Feud Quest. Types: Bone Club/Oak & Willow Blackjacks Advantage: Stun (Blackjacks) Attack Styles: Pound (Accurate) Pummel (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Pound Granite Maul The granite maul deals more damage than a whip but is much slower and is two-handed. It can be obtained by slaying Nechryaels and Gargoyles. Advantage: Deals high damage. Attack Styles: Pound (Accurate) Pummel (Aggressive) Block (Defensive) Recommended Attack Style: Crush Other Staves Not very fast, and not really made for melee combat, these provide users additional magical focusing for attacking. You can set attacking spells to autocast, and some allow you to use some spells that you cannot use without the appropriate staff. More about staffs can be found in the Magic Guide. Types: Plain, All elementals, Battlestaffs, Mystical Staffs, God Staffs, Slayer Staff Advantage: Autocasting Spells, Elemental staffs stops you from wasting runes of a kind. Attack Styles: Bash(Accurate) Pound (Aggressive) Focus - Block (Defensive) Attack With - (Choose Spell) Recommended Attack Style: Attack With Spell Also, the best style while casting an offensive spell and at the same time carry a staff with you is to choose focus-block, as it gives exp to Defence as well. So in whole, you will receive Magic, Constitution and Defence experience. Barrows Weapons See: Barrows Guide There are several different kinds of Barrows weapons that belong to the brothers. Introduction: Have you been interested in being more than just a member in a clan? Have you been a member but have never been recognized for all you achieved? Have you always been interested in being a founder and leading a clan to greatness? I am currently looking for four talented, friendly, and energetic founders who are willing to take the time to not only start a clan and lead it to greatness, but to help those in need, rather they be clan member or stranger. The Clan: This clan would be focusing on Skills and Questing. How is this clan going to be different from any other clan? Simple. The members. We were all new to this game once. Do you remember how hard it was to figure out how to play? How frustrating it was to find shops, quest items, and good places to fish and mine? This is because there wasn’t a clan to give us a hand and help us out. Until now. We will be focusing on skills and quests while helping those who are need, member or stranger; beginner to expert. Requirements to be a founder: 1. Be active 2. Mature 3. Friendly 4. Have the same ideals as covered above 5. Be able to help plan/hold events 6. Have ideas to help bring the clan to greatness Interested? Add me as a friend on runescape: Daskatza Or post here. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or get to know me first.
