Please note that this series of four entries about Slayer, of which this is the third, happened between the 18th and 26th of February, so mentioned item prices may be slightly out of date With Dagannoths as my Slayer task and a feeling that I wasn't going to be able to complete it in a reasonable time at the Dagannoth Kings, I decided to do it the 'proper' way - with a Cannon in the room under the Lighthouse. I headed off to the Grand Exchange and put in an offer for a Cannon at max. It took a couple of hours for the offer to fill, but that wasn't a problem. I then started an offer to buy some Cannonballs. For as long as I can remember, these had a value of 200gp or 180gp if you were buying in huge quantities, so it was a massive shock to see that they'd set me back 400gp each - twice what I was expecting. Oh well, money is easy to come by, so I bought 5k of them. Off to the Lighthouse I headed, then hopped worlds a couple of times to find an empty one. I set up the Cannon and off it fired. Pwning Dagannoths with a Cannon Fairly quickly, I noticed that they drop huge numbers of valuable Herb Seeds - Lantadyme, Dwarf Weed, Snapdragon. The only problem with these is that they're tiny and with the Dagannoths dying so rapidly, it's easy to miss one that's dropped. It was with a strange grin on my face that I right-clicked on a Snapdragon Seed, clicked to pick it up, ran over and found that it had disappeared. Maybe I can make money too easily on RS if I can let 100k disappear with little more than a 'meh'. The task ended quickly, then I was off to fetch another one. This time it was Black Demons - those big things that take ages to kill and are horribly boring. Of course, I had my Cannon, so felt a need to use it. Looking around, it appears that all their locations outside the Chaos Tunnels are in single combat. The Cannon would still be speeding up kills, so that's a good thing. I headed off to Taverley Dungeon and set myself up. It's still horribly tedious and I hate the task, but the kills are faster so the boredom doesn't last as long. Over the course of the task, I averaged about 10 Cannonballs per kill, not cheap, but I'd say it was worth it. The Cannon speeds up Black Demon tasks significantly, even though it's a single combat area A couple of tasks later and I was assigned Bloodvelds. For this, there was an option of heading to an overcrowded Slayer Tower or traversing the Meiyerditch Tunnels and finding the Mutated version to kill with a Cannon. Clearly, the latter was favourable. It's a long trek to get there, but the tunnels look great, so it isn't a problem. Once there, I managed about 3/4 of my task before running out of Prayer Potions, so had to tele out. Because of the long walk to head back, I used the Slayer Tower to finish off the task. After a gap of a few days, I was given another task to kill 210 Bloodvelds. This time, I was determined that I wouldn't run out of supplies, so over-stocked on everything and headed in. An hour later, the task was finished. 40k Melee, 60k Range and 40k Slayer xp in a hour. Amazing speed and well worth the cost of 3k Cannonballs! Cannoning Mutated Bloodvelds is extremely fast experience The ammo may cost a fortune, but it is a truly amazing weapon. I love my Cannon.

Please note that this series of four entries about Slayer, of which this is the second, happened between the 18th and 26th of February, so mentioned item prices may be slightly out of date Having failed at killing Jad, Josh decided that it was a good time to drag me off to kill some proper bosses - the Dagannoth Kings. We'd been there once in the past, where I'm told that we obtained a split on a Dragon Med Helm. We met up in Edgeville bank, along with zvi, and discussed equipment and inventory setups, deciding on something involving lots of Sara Brews / Super Restores, along with the Balmung and some Broad Bolts to range with. A final check was made to ensure that I was wearing my Chompy Hat, then we telegrouped to Waterbirth. Into the Dungeon and my run energy was dropping at a crazy speed, so probably found myself sitting down in a couple of silly places, with the wrong Prayer above my head. Eventually, we reached where the Blood Runs Deep escort mission appears, then it wasn't much further until we reached the safe spot at the bottom of the penultimate ladder. A final check that we all had Coinshare enabled, then the final run to their lair. As expected, it was total chaos, with my health dropping in a way comparable to Nomad in Berserk mode. Somehow, in all this chaos, zvi had lured away Rex and Supreme died under the power of our Balmungs. At this point, with only Prime to worry about, it became much more relaxed as it was simply a case of following Josh and doing what he did. Ranging Prime from a relatively safe location A couple of kills passed and the others were celebrating a couple of great drops - a Dragon Axe and a Seers' Ring. We were all in the same Clan Chat, we all had Coinshare enabled, but none of those two million coins had appeared for me to pick up. I checked the settings again while under attack, yes, definitely enabled. A couple of kills later and Josh suggested heading upstairs to check the settings while not under attack. Up the ladder I went. Open up the Clan Chat pane. Click on 'Clan Setup'. Look at the option at the bottom of the rank settings... CoinShare ON. I headed back down, utterly perplexed as to why it wasn't working, but managed to score myself some loot from a single kill... 3k coins. After not much longer, supplies ran out, House Tablets were broken and we made our ways to safety, meeting up in Edgeville bank again having decided that we wanted to do another trip. Before heading off, however, we had to work out what was wrong with my Coinshare. I described exactly what I had done and it became clear to the others what my mistake had been... The button to enable Coinshare is the money bag at the top of the list of people in the chat. It has nothing to do with the 'Clan Setup' window. With this problem sorted, we headed back to Waterbirth, triple checked that I had Coinshare enabled and made our way to the Kings. This went much more smoothly, with Sara Brews lasting longer and everything happening as it should rather than as a complete mess. Because of Coinshare working, I found myself leaving with a third of a Seers' Ring split as well as a 67 Water Talisman drop. :D The next day, I went to find myself another Slayer task and was assigned Dagannoths, so was clearly dragged back down for a third trip. This time, however, there was only me and Josh to do the killing so some slightly different tactics were required. These sounded like 'stand by the Seaweed to kill Prime, otherwise run around in circles and if you find Supreme attacking you, scream as loud as you can'. Standing next to the Seaweed We didn't manage a huge number of kills (I ticked off three towards the Slayer task) and left with no special loot, but the constant need to think on your feet made it great fun and much more exciting than when there were three people around. ^_^

Managing Miscellania, something which can be used to bring in a few extra pennies for relatively little effort. With it being such an easy source of income and useful items, what resources do you set your workers to gather and do you keep a log of everything they collect?

Please note that this series of four entries about Slayer, of which this is the first, happened between the 18th and 26th of February, so mentioned item prices may be slightly out of date Having been given Jad as a Slayer task, I was slightly worried about what was going to happen. I'd attempted to make my way to him twice in the past, reaching him on neither attempt. This time, I had much higher levels as well as the Enchanted Excalibur for lots of extra healing, plus the existence of Sara Brews, hotkeys and more money to spend on supplies. Eventually, I found myself with a few hours free and decided that it was time to have a go. I got all my gear ready, did some final reading of strategies and inventory setups to make sure I was doing it right and headed in. The first few waves were fine - the 22s that drain Prayer were dying first hit and the Enchanted Excalibur showed really is amazing and was easily healing all the damage I was taking. Last time I was here was ages back and since then all of the monsters have had their looks changed. The level 180s look nothing like their old monk-like versions I reached wave 31 fine, having not had to sip any of my Brews and only a single dose of PPot. The first couple of 360s went down fine, with me finding that the attacks that they make are a lot harder to tell than previously - only their tail moves rather than their whole body. I then had a problem where I ran too far south and got Meleed for a ~40 before quickly dashing out of the way again. On wave 35, the 360 was trapped to the south of the 'Italy Rock', with me to the north. I ran round the corner and turned on Protect from Mage slightly too late, getting hit for something in the low 30s, so headed back round north and waited for my special bar to go from 80-100%, heal from that and take a sip of Brew to get back towards full health. I did this, it died and I went back to my spot to the north of the Italy Rock. Because I'm a cheapskate and didn't want to waste Prayer Pots encase I ran out, I had Protect from Mage switched off. This was a mistake as the 360 must have spawned in the middle and an attack came in my direction from beyond my field of vision. As soon as I saw this, I switched on Protect from Mage, it hit and dealt ~40 damage. Fine, Protect from Mage was on, so I was safe. It appears that this wasn't the case and, for some unknown reason, the damage these attacks cause is calculated when it's released rather than when it hits. ~3 seconds after turning on Protect from Mage, the second attack arrived and hit enough to kill me. :D Even though the spell isn't flying towards you, the damage it will cause has already been calculated Appearing outside, I killed one of the TzHaar in the area and it dropped an Obby Maul. I then killed a further ~60 of the TzHaar outside the minigame, thinking that they'd count towards my Slayer task because Kura offered to 'upgrade' me from TzHaar to Jad. It turns out that this wasn't the case and all that I'd done in that time was gain a load of Obby Charms and some Tokkul, so I headed back into the Fight Caves twice with no supplies, killing ~70 monsters each time. I may have done better with a stupid setup while doing the Karamja AD, but oh well, it's an experience that felt fitting considering the controversy surrounding the Strykewyrm requirement.

Having gone On an Adventure to make some Cleaning Cloth, we were left there standing around wondering what to do. A couple of people left, the remaining three of us had a quick discussion about money making, then the third person left, leaving me and Josh. At this point, I mentioned that I had to go afk for a couple of secs, so Josh ran around the bar counter and sat down between the bar stools. Upon my return, he was insistent that I couldn't see him because he was a stool. Oh, what glorious flashbacks I had to the Polar Bear on the desert island. ^_^ Having persuaded him that I could see him, we wandered into the Banana plantation to the north. Heading out of the west gate, somebody came up to us and asked if either of us knew how to play Barbarian Assault (Josh was wearing full Penance and I the skirt). Of course we didn't, neither of us had ever been there and it was infact the pixies playing tricks on him, merely giving the illusion that we'd ever been to BA. Those pixies are everywhere, hiding where you can't see, causing mayhem all the time and generally being all like pixies. They're evil, beware! :o After the pixies had scared the person who'd come up to us away, Josh decided to attack some of the Monkeys and show off all the hawt Curses that he can use at his Prayer level. While watching some of these fantastic looking Prayers activating, I started wanting to see the Mysterious Spinning Thing when it wasn't bugged and heading slowly across the Soul Wars graveyard. A bit of playing around showed that it wouldn't reliably activate on Monkeys, so we headed to the Duel Arena to do some testing. Here, we had a few battles with Josh activating various Curses against me until we determined that the Mysterious Spinning Thing was Leech Defence, not Leech Mage as I'd been told. Having done this, we decided to have some 'proper' battles to determine who (and which Prayer book) is the greatest, despite him having combat stats in the high 90s while mine are still mainly in the low 80s, him on Curses myself on the 'normal' Prayer book. We had various fights involving a range of different settings. Although you may have expected that I'd have been pwnt every time, that certainly wasn't the case. When we were Ranging each other, about half of the battles were close to the very end, with the survivor having under 10HP left, while the other half involved Josh getting a couple of high hits in early on (before I turned on Protect from Range ) and the result being as expected with me losing. When we made things more interesting and used both Range and Melee weapons, it was significantly closer, with me winning a few battles by a fair margin, Josh winning a few by a fair margin and several being down to the line. It may be that I was slightly quicker at weapon / Prayer switching or Josh was simply letting me win (it didn't seem like it :)), but from this experience in the Duel Arena I'd say that Curses aren't the best choice for 1v1 combat PvP when neither of you have food. They do, however, look amazing. :)

Having completed my Penguin Hunting and Circus on Wednesday, Josh asked if I wanted to come to BA. Of course, I did and hopped over to world 6 to meet him. I made my way to wave 6 as a Collector, reaching 499 Collector points before switching to Attack for the final few waves. This meant that I had enough points to buy one of the pieces of Penance Armour! I was slightly hesitant about buying any since "storing Penance in your Costume Room isn't important" according to Jagex, which means it'll be sitting there filling up my already overflowing bank. In the end, Josh persuaded me to buy a Skirt. Having done this, there was a call to 'follow me' from Josh, so I did. There were also other people following him, and from the conversation that I overheard, there was somebody with a painted Whip who wanted to change it's colour who Josh was determined to teach the proper method. I wasn't, however, sure if this really was the point of the trip, but tagged along anyway. We started walking south, then the train took a wrong turn, heading to the foot of the Baxtorian Falls rather than the bridge at the top! As soon as I saw this, I made the mistake known, clearly not admitting that I only knew about it because I'd taken the same wrong turn when penguin hunting in the area a couple of hours before. :) Continuing south, we reached some Warrior Women who had their pockets picked for all the money within to pay for 'boat fares' for the group of us. At this point, I was told to lead. ;) I had no idea where we were heading, but had a feeling Brimhaven had something to do with Cleaning Cloth, so checked with Josh that I was right. I was. We continued south and made our way into Ardougne. Entering the marketplace, I was informed that we should stop off at the Silk stall and steal some of the material before continuing. The respawn timer on it was a lot quicker than I was expecting, so we were on our way to the docks fairly quickly. Catching the boat to Karamja, we lost a couple of people, so having waited for all but Josh to reappear, I headed over to the Spirit Tree patch where I'd replanted my tree a couple of weeks back. I checked the health, was given lots of Farming xp and was almost instantly whisked away by the Sandwich Lady! ;) Upon reappearing, Josh had arrived and I forced him to take us the final leg of the journey. Inevitably, he ran on while I was walking, so got stuck behind a tree and he had to come back to fetch me and another person who'd decided that I was a safer bet than Josh. Once that was sorted, we continued over to the Bar in Musa Point which was the 'final' destination for the journey and were told to 'buy Karamja Rum' with the coins leftover from the boat ride, then use it with the Silk that we'd stolen. Silk + Karamja Rum = Cleaning Cloth! :) Of course, the person who wanted to clean their Whip had bought the wrong beverage and needed to be handed more coins to purchase the correct one, but eventually it was sorted and this stage of the adventure was over...

Having unlocked Everywhere, I decided to spend a few minutes hanging around the area listening to it (yes, it really does mean that much! ;)). To start with, I simply stood around at the coast, watching people run past. One of these was the lowest level with a quest cape that I've seen post-Nomad at 109 combat, with 76 Range, 81 Defence, 67 Summoning and 81 Hitpoints. After the track had played through once, I did a bit of wandering around, gazing at the walls of Prifddinas. Knowing what is revealed at the end of Within the Light, standing around next to the walls of this once great city is a surreal experience. Yes, I love the lore of the world and everything about the history of Gielinor slightly more than most, but I would highly recommend that after completing Within the Light, you head over and spend a few minutes around Prifddinas' walls. Amazing. ;) While standing around here, a couple of people arrived with an Orb of Oculus, presumably to look within the walls of the city with more control than a Macaw. This made me slightly irritated that I'd banked mine when heading to the Wilderness Penguin, but heh, it's simply another reason to head back at a later stage. An ' ;) ' was uttered upon spotting me, followed by a 'ty for writing all those quest guides on rhq'... 'sals'. I'll take this moment to say a big all-inclusive 'tyvm <3' to everybody who's seen me in-game at Barbarian Assault, Yanille, near the walls of Prifddinas or anywhere else and said ty for writing various quest guides. As enjoyable as writing the guides is (very), some of the comments people have made are simply the icing on the cake, so a huge tyvm to all. ;) Although you can't see the city in all it's glory, I love the aura that Prifddinas exhibits and will be heading back in the near future. :(

While doing The Temple at Senntisten, I killed one of the Waterfiends and it dropped a Clue Scroll, so headed off to do it today. First, to the Lumber Yard and search a crate. Then into the Wilderness, fight a nub mage that I remember being much more vicious (I've not done a clue scroll in ages) and pick up Chest with another clue in. This led me to Oziach, who gave me a Puzzle Box. >.< I thought I'd completed it, but had somehow managed to get two pieces the wrong way round, so had to swap them, which was easy enough. Talk to Oziach again and he gives me a clue... Thou shalt return to the Lumber Yard because I've given you a replica of the first clue you did in this trail. Fine, I've had the same clue come up twice before in the same trail and this will be slightly easier to get to than 'next to where a Black Knight spawns in deep wilderness' (a previous repeater, when the only way to deep Wilderness was the Ardougne lever or running). *search the crate* "You have found a clue scroll." *look at clue scroll* *close it* *open again* *rub eyes to check they're working properly* Yes, it was exactly the same clue twice in a row, the third time in the trail! :D *click on the crate again* I already had two Guthix Platebodies as placeholers for when I was freeplay, so headed straight to the GE to see what it's worth. 900k for about 30 minutes of work, not bad. :D

I've spent the time since the BA update on World 6 pwning Penance and developing a love for the Defender role. In doing this, I've slowly been creeping up the highscores and am currently ranked higher in this than any other thing in the past on Runescape. :D I know there are other Slammers with higher ranks in other roles, but I started lower (rank ~15k) and will be slowly working towards the top 21 in among earning myself full Penance.

I played that one game as a requirement for Nomad's Requiem and hated it. 600 people crammed into one place, with totally uneven teams and nobody doing what the tutorial made it clear was the most important thing in the world -burying bones. Having completed the quest, I'm determined that I'll experience enough of this game to bring me in another 30 points, so my total is 100 and I am given some bonus xp when they're cashed in. Heading back into battle, I decided that I shouldn't try to take it at all seriously, instead accepting it for what it is - a complete joke that's made stupid by the sheer number of people, many of whom are doing nothing other than standing around spamming "join Iii Cc Iii for 3 zeal per game". I was playing one game where there were about 400 people crowded around the obelisk in the middle, so I'm sure you can imagine the lag it created. It was, however, the most balanced game of the half dozen I've experienced, without either of the Avatars being killed until about 2 minutes were left. That's another strange thing about it - the laggier it is, the more fun it is because it shows that both teams think they can take control of the obelisk and it isn't heavily unbalanced by those in CCs. I love the start of games - head in, pick up 28 bandages, run to the obelisk and kill off 10-15 people who are attacking me until I finally run out of bandages and die. I'm fairly sure that what I'm doing is useless in the grand scheme of things, but it's great fun and made for an interesting conversation with a couple of people IRL today who are determined that training defence is a bad thing and 'pures' are the only way to go. :P Coming to the end of a 'long' tanking session at the start of one game After the start, it's 15 minutes of dying, coming back, activating my 'Quick Select' Prayers (Piety and Protect from Melee), dropping down to 20hp, switching to Retribution, then giggling as my death causes 3 or 4 others to fall down dead. Totally stupid, but a great laugh. Feel my wrath! >.< All in all, Soul Wars is like High School Musical - a complete joke that's fantastic fun if you don't take it at all seriously. :P

After yesterday, I decided that I had to head back to the King Black Dragon today with the new-found knowledge that wearing Proselyte wouldn't mean the firebreath hits more and that it doesn't matter if you die with the Holy Wrench since you can get it back for free. Wearing full Proselyte and my inventory packed with Sharks and Potions, the obelisk was kind enough to zap me directly to level 44 wilderness, so I ran over towards the KBD's lair and entered. It wasn't quite as much as a shock as the first time yesterday since I'd now had the experience of three previous entrances, so the DDS specs were unleashed followed by a few smacks of my Whip and it was dead within about 40 Prayer Points and 3 Sharks. :D The world was less busy at this time of day, so the spawn took longer to appear, but when it did I was ready to kill it: 0-0-0-0-0-0 went the DDS specs. :D This kill wasn't anywhere near as fast as the first, requiring about 120 PPoints to kill, though it thankfully wasn't hitting very often. When it finally did die, there was a nice surprise sitting on the floor... Kill #11. The next kill on the trip went fine and left me with just enough supplies to attempt a 4th kill. As it's hitpoints slowly faded away, so did my supplies until I was left with 20 PPoints and a single Shark with the big, scary dragon, whose heads I had in my inventory, still on about 1/4 health. I thought I could make it as a couple of big hits came from my Whip, redbarring the KBD as my Prayer ran out, my last Shark eaten. But was it dead? No - a tiny sliver of green reappeared on the health bar. 0-0-0-0 I hit as my health reduced from 67 to 53 to 42. Should I try and teleport out to save the heads or try and kill it and reap the rewards - it has a fairly low max hit, right? I chose the latter as I noticed my health orb turn green. In a panic, I drank a sip of Antipoison and saw a red splat appear on the KBD. It was dead and I had 25hp left. Phew! I picked up the drops and teleported out before the next spawn appeared. It was a close battle and certainly a relief to be safe in Edgeville bank. :D Despite the free healing from the Monks around the corner, I nommed a couple of Lobsters to be on the safe side encase I'd missed the fact that I was poisoned or something before heading to the Monastery to be given free health and Prayer Points. I then did a few more trips which went fairly well - one with a scraped 5 kills, another with a comfortable 5 and a couple with 4 kills. Getting there either went really well (a single obelisk) or felt like it took forever - there must be something wrong when it takes 12 obelisks to reach the one you want to be at. The last trip should have been fairly normal, except I got distracted by the chat in Canting, so wasn't really paying attention to the KBD. On the first kill, I looked away from my health, typed something, looked back up and saw I was on 20hp! I quickly gobbled down several Sharks to bring myself to a more comfortable health level and carried on the kill in a panicky mood. Before the next spawn, I totally failed to drink any of the Potions, so when it came there was a rush of drinking half a dozen different concoctions to save myself - Antifire, Antipoison, Attack, Strength. Oh no, my Prayer had run out! *slurps a couple of doses of Prayer Potion and reactivates the prayers* All that time, I'd forgotten about healing, so my health was uncomfortably low and once again I panic ate to heal myself. Once that was done, it was slightly more comfortable and the kill eventually came. I calmed myself down for a third kill, making sure I'd done all the prep I needed and was ready when it appeared. When the KBD was at about 3/4 health, somebody else came into the room and started attacking the dragon. Although it was one of those people who seems determined to steal your dragon and take it for themselves, I was grateful for the extra help and teleported out with the drop since my supplies were low. This brings my total KBD kills to 31. :D

Following the party yesterday, I have a month's membership, so what better way to use it than to try something new? :D Since I'm totally unimaginative in this respect and have read all of Merch's tales of fighting off the King Black Dragon, I decided it sounded like a bit of fun - I only recall entering the KBD's lair once before to unlock the music. With this starting knowledge of nothing at all, I did a quick search and found this which gives a basic rundown on what to take for a basic run. Helm, Glory, Top, Skirt, Cape, Dagger, Whip, Gloves, Shield and Potions were all happily sitting in my bank, although the rest I was slightly less sure about. Equipping the Dragon Boots showed that if I died, they'd be lost and with a shoddy internet connection that likes to go down with no notice, that's not good, so I stuck them back into the back and withdrew some Climbing Boots because they're cheap. Then the Bracelet, fine, 2.5k on the GE - no problem. And Sharks - I've never used them properly in the past, so clearly had none in the bank and they cost a lot more than the 1k I was expecting, but I wasn't going to complain about something I don't want to catch myself and bought 1000 of them. Then was the Ring of Life which would be helpful to have - 15k! :D I didn't want to pay that much, so took some Diamonds and Gold Bars out of the bank, Gloried to Al Kharid and made 9 of them all by myself. A rub of a Games Necklace whisked me off to the Wilderness Volcano where I summoned a Spirit Terrorbird and spent 5 minutes working out how to hand it some Sharks to carry. With that sorted out, I made my way to an obelisk and after 5 teles, I was in level 44 Wilderness as Merch noted that I should be. I ran over to the cage, potting up as I ran - Super Attack, Strength, Defence, Antipoison - all drunk, so I was ready to climb down the ladder. Among the Spiders it took me a good 10 seconds to find the lever which brought me into the KBD's lair. I was expecting to need to be on my toes, but it didn't help that the KBD was attacking me before I'd even arrived, so over I ran, swiping it with four DDS specs. I remembered a point that Merch made about kills going faster if you don't switch to the Whip until you're sure it's poisoned, so I waited and waited, but it was down to about 2/3 health and not poisoned, so I gave up and switched. At this point I realised that I was taking more damage than I was expecting and had eaten about 1/4 of the Sharks already... so I quickly put on Protect from Melee and recalled something Josh said about Piety being extremely useful, so turned that on too. Strangely, damage was still coming in fast. At that point I looked at the chatbox. Ohhhhhhhhh, I'd not drunk any of the Antifire Potion, so a sip of that reduced incoming damage. Killing was still slow, so I switched back to the DDS to see if it would make a difference - first hit and the KBD was poisoned, so back to the Whip to finish of a kill that took about 15 Sharks and dropped some Fire Runes. Not a good start. Between spawns, I worked out how the Quick-Select Prayers work, so enabled them and picked up the Sapphire spawn sitting in the middle of the room to try and reduce losses. This time, I was ready with Prayers and killed it slightly quicker, but it still took ~10 Sharks to finish off, so I had to tele out with two kills under my belt. Towards the end of the kill, the health thing had changed from red to green without me noticing, so having teled out, I found myself with a bit of a shock looking and noticing myself with 23hp. Closing the bank and watching a splat of poison appear showed what the problem was, so a sip of Antipoison solved that and I headed off to the Monastery for free healing and prayer points. Restocked, with 12 doses of Prayer Potion rather than 8, I attempted to head off via the obelisks. Appearing in level 55 Wilderness, I was attacked by a bunch of Revs with Auto-retaliate on, so ran away from the obelisk when it decided to do the teleing and had to try again while under attack. Arriving in level 44 Wilderness this time, I had to eat 4 Sharks and drink some more Antipoison to cure myself, so was low on stocks to begin with. I ran over, went down the ladder, switched to the Barrows gloves and tried to tele. Eeks, I'd been teleblocked! Thankfully, I'd got the Forinthry Bracelet with me, so switching back to that allowed me into the KBD's lair. This trip went better, with four whole kills before I was out of PPots and Sharks. It was going so well that I was brave enough to take a screenshot without fear of dying! :D A drop of 100 Yew Logs along with a couple of other smaller drops also meant that I don't think I was in the red for this run. Third trip, I arrived fine, but then attacking there was 0 after 0 after 0. On the first kill, the Special Attack bar was back up to 90% by the time the KDB died and on the second it had reached 100% despite five DDS specs having been cast with it. It really didn't feel like things were going well, but I had a few Sharks and a couple of doses of PPot left, so decided to have a shot at a third kill. This went... strangely. First, I wasn't watching my Prayer, so managed to let it drop to 0. I then noticed I was going to run out of Prayer Points before the KBD was dead, so turned off Piety to conserve a few points. Eventually, it died, the three kills requiring 12 doses of PPot and 28 Sharks but... My first Dragon Drop! :yay: I picked it up, teled out and can say that I'll probably be back there at some point, although clearly have room to improve - DHide Chaps instead of DSkirt and Holy Wrench to use less PPoints seem like obvious places to start, but if anybody has any other suggestions to get more kills in (80 Atk / Strength, 92 Def), I'd love to hear them. :D

Please Ensure Content Is Broken Before Release - Halloween Event
Neo Avatars posted a blog entry in Neo Avatars' Blog
I finally got round to hopping in-game and doing the Halloween event. It filled half an hour in an entertaining way, so that's good. I didn't fail any of the obstacles which probably helped (the upper level ones are hawt ), but there were a couple of problems... When clicking to move in the Herald's room (to the other side), there's a large lag before you actually start to move - as if it's having a problem finding a path around that giant spider. If you can run half way round a floor of a house to some stairs without lag, why does having a single spider in the way cause problems? Secondly, Muncher. I was trying to complete that as if it was made poorly (broken) - having to re-talk to him each time you choose an option. This meant that even when Entertaining him, then showing Eek, it failed to work until I bothered clicking on 'Click here to continue'. Seriously, I'm so used to the text closing part-way through a conversation when choosing the options that I naturally choose to talk to the NPC again rather than 'Clicking here to continue'. Dear Jagex, Please make sure the game works both properly and as if it was broken when releasing new content (or fix everything to make it consistently good, brainwashing those that are used to the bad version so they forget how it worked). Tyvm Neo ...and when he decides to 'kill' you, teleporting you to the entrance, why does Eek have to tell you that you have x cobwebs left to spin in that room? I DON'T CARE - I want to be in the room over THERE! *points* >.< As for the rewards, who cares if the cape's ugly (having solely a web rather than the background too would be hawt) and you're given a spider that tries to be a yo-yo? IT'S A HOLIDAY EVENT! - something to fill an ~hour (which it does), be fun (which it is) and give a random piece of clothing to add to your costume collection (which it does). I also recall that the transition into the dark of Rimmington last year was significantly smoother than the two sudden jumps that appear around the portal this time. Oh well, as I said, it's something fun to fill an ~hour, so thank-you Mod John A and those who helped him create it. :D -

Hey all, To clear up any confusion, 1dolfinsfan is quoting a post made by Mod Hohbein, they are not actually Mod Hohbein themselves. :P Sorry to disappoint you but Swift Kit is not allowed. I realise there has been some confusion over this with some people saying yes its okay to use but Jagex is very firm about this and it is not. Don't worry I won't be scouring the thread for those who have admitted having it but I highly recommend you remove it as soon as possible while I go and hide your posts. :) Thanks. -Se7en- Hi guys, I'm sorry if some interpreted the message of mine which was copied from another thread as confirmation that some 3rd party software is allowed. This is not the case. The rules state that 3rd party software should not be used and as the program in question is indeed 3rd party software it is not accepted by Jagex for you to use this program. The only software you should use to access RuneScape would be a regular web browser and anything available on the RuneScape website. Remember that whilst a piece of software may not offer any tremendous benefit for playing the game it can still offer several security risks to your computer and your account. My advice, if it doesn't have Jagex's approval then you should avoid using it. - Mod Crow - Page 2 / 8 QFC: 14-15-786-58916870 :P EDIT: Page 13... Our policy is that use of third party software is against the rules. This has always been to prevent unfair advantage in game and to ensure the security of accounts. The only software that Jagex recognises as 'legal' is the content available on our website. However, I appreciate the confusion and concern regarding this issue. In order to help matters I will forward this along and see if we can get an official policy statement regarding this issue. Please bear in mind that this may take some time as we will need to carefully review this before a full response can be given. - Mod Crow - Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had a Slayer task to kill ~130 Basilisks and got bored after 100 of them, finding out they hit no damage, so having huge amounts too much food... and I've been assigned to kill 130 more. :P What sort of annoying person decided to make the change so you could get the same task twice in a row? :P 35k Slayer xp today, so not too bad for 3 assignments. :P

Following my story, it appears that Fencefry's transcript isn't good enough and the original is needed, so... :glasses:
