This is all very pretty. I've been insanely busy these past couple of days, so I haven't had chance to have a good look around. I did nip in to reinstate this blog, after the SOPA protest (which happily we won for now, though ACTA is brewing - love the Polish for what they're up to at the moment!), but then didn't do much else. Apologies for that. It appears that the update went and messed up all of the formatting on the sidebar here. I've just fixed all of that. I'm going to have to stick this picture here for a moment though for safekeeping. It's the one that used to be in the sidebar, but it's too wide to be there now. I'm sure there's a way to fix that too, but the editing function won't save. :( You're all several days ahead of me on all of the pretties. What have you found absolutely wonderful on the new Sal's forums, that I really need to go and look at?

Plus a reminder to log into Runescape at least once a day, from now until January 5th, so that you get your 500 bonus loyalty points each day! From what I can gather, you literally just need to log on and off for that to happen. <3 Merci beaucoup, Fred, for the banner!

People are calling glitch. I'm calling right and proper! All pics taken in Sal's Realm citadel (and if you think I've photoshopped, then you're seriously over-estimating my skillz!) And finally a couple from the Sal's Xmas party, where Zach and I are in attendance representing the new owners of this citadel - Canting Away! Merci beaucoup, Fred, for the banner!

It's been a bit of a busy week, so I haven't been in Runescape much. However, I did have two levels very close to happening, so they just popped up. I didn't go out of my way to train them. It was just their time. I was quite pleased with 91 Thieving. I think it means that I can do the entire Pyramid now. I rarely go up there, unless it's to use the teleport, as I did too much of it at lower levels. Practically as soon as I could get into Pyramid Plunder, I was using it for thieving xp. It got to the point where I couldn't stand the minigame at all. I guess it's time to see if it's as bad as I recall or if it was just a case of temporary pyramid fatigue. This one just happened as I was cooking some sharks that I'd caught for personal Slayer use. I had a little smile, but didn't get too over-excited. I thought that the main benefit would be the effigy thing. I've just read it again and spotted the rocktails. Is that really good to the point where I shouldn't be going anywhere near shark cuisine? Merci beaucoup, Fred, for the banner!

The Canting Away citadel might be delapidated. It might have dropped a tier, because hardly anyone is helping us maintain it. But in the immortal words of Billy Bragg, it's still suitable for miners. Merci beaucoup, Fred, for the banner!

This has been loitering close to a level for ages. It still took me by surprise, when I randomly levelled in the circus earlier. Look at all the pretty things that I can do now: You would have got a picture of the actual level up notice. It would have been wonderful, as the circus spectators were all cheering and going 'cowabunga' in the background. There would have been dramatic tension, as the circus master strode towards me, with the ground shaking like a Tyrannosaurus Rex was after me. It would have felt so real and vital and fantastic, that you could almost hear that bizarre 'ooooh!' sound, which I think is supposed to be the circus-master on his megaphone. Unfortunately, you have none of this. The leap to level 90 Mage temporarily decreased my Ability to Properly Press Printscreen level to zero. *sigh*

Lots Of Smithing And Firemaking Xp In The Canting Citadel
Merch Gwyar posted a blog entry in Merch Gwyar's Blog
Kicker Gwyar and I get smithing for the good of Canting. Other than doing my Tears and penguins, all I've done recently is hang out in the Canting citadel. Usually I only make it in there the day before the tick, so I'm left with whatever everyone else didn't want to do. This week, I'm early. I tried out the charcoal and bars areas, which provided unreal firemaking and smithing XP. Is this now the fastest smithing in the game? I ended up with over 100k firemaking XP, free of charge as no logs were required, and nearly 70k smithing XP too. I'm really wishing that I didn't have a 1400 resource cap. I could live in there all week, racking up that sort of XP! -
This is for those in Canting right now. Rest of you, please move along. No unidentified ghost thingie to see here. >.>

The Canting/Sal's IRL meet up happened over the weekend. Everyone has told me that they enjoyed themselves. I know that I certainly did. However, it was the hottest day in the world ever today, on Bosworth Moor, hence I'm sitting here feeling more than a little sun-kissed. Don't expect blog brilliance. ;) Here's a run through, as I experienced it. Daz Rhyfelwr, Jdeh Rhyfela and I arrived at Trout Pond Farm, Sheepy Magna, around noon yesterday. There hasn't been heavy rain in Leicestershire since January (according to the farmer), so the ground was baked rock hard and tinder dry. This was a problem when it came to the tent-peg/no mallet situation. Being good at quests, I hunted in the hedgerows until I found a large rock. Then Daz and I had to literally hammer every peg in place. To give you a measure of how much like hard work this was, Daz managed to break a tent peg in two, just trying to bash it into the earth. O.O In the meanwhile, Jdeh was dealing with the large double airbed/no pump situation. I thought he had a hope in Hell, but he proved me wrong by blowing the thing up with his mouth. I had literally just driven the last tent-peg in, when my 'phone rang. I handed the rock to Daz and answered it. Audioworm and Goggie, with impeccable timing, had just pulled into the farm. >:D They, of course, could just get out of the car and lounge around, as we'd just set their tents up too. However, the second we had the camping chairs up and were dishing out the pizza (I gained a level cooking that before we set out), Tabt called to say that she was at the railway station. Goggie and I drove down to pick her up. Once we had her tent up, we had all officially arrived. What followed was an afternoon and evening of good, wholesome exercise, fine conversation and games. We retired to bed, then bounced up bright and early for some educational pursuits at the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth event. (Spoiler: ) Here are some pictures from the weekend. and finally, IRL clan citadels! For Sal's, Tabt and Goggie: And for Canting, Daz, Merch and Audioworm: (Jdeh refused to be photographed for either, though he is officially in Canting and he's on Sal's too.)

Did I go a whole day without proud pictures of the Canting citadel? Yes! I think I did! Better rectify that then! We had a visitor! Callum 2a is the leader of the Green Dusk clan. They are allied with us through Sir Xel, so our members can teleport both ways via our respective citadels. Fortunately, I happened to be around when Callum popped in to say hello, thus able to welcome him properly. I do find it so lovely to have these random visitors. I've often been in the Canting citadel and found someone wandering around. They're usually from Sal's Realm or Green Dusk, though guests do have permission to just come through the portal. It's nice to stop and have a few words of greeting with them. You can meet some really nice people that way. Everyone is always welcome at Canting. Infinitely more so than at Sal's. Sit on their grass and you end up having Low Ki run you down with a katana! Though that might have been because I was apparently trying to hide one of their badgers up my skirt... Here is one of our newest members (he joined Canting just yesterday, after I got chatting with him at a magic tree), Mecca 163, hard at work chopping logs for us: At least he was, until UP INTHE AIR turned up and they got side-tracked into face-to-face joint bunny-hopping. Shortly followed by joint concussion brought about by having just head-butted each other at high velocity. I've also been visiting the Sal's Realm citadel, to see how they are getting on.

Beyond Gielinor, I've frequently become embroiled in the pursuits of a lowly plumber, in his bid to rescue his one true love. Princess Peach appears to be a bit of a banal individual. She never so much as punchs her assailants in the gob, let alone gets herself out of the whole abduction scenario. If I was Mario, I'd just let her rot for being too insipid, but that's just me. However, it does appear that even he occasionally has holidays. And where does he spend them? Gielinor! Yesterday, I was just coming out of Castle Wars, when I bumped into him! I did speak to 5uper Mario, but he didn't reply. Maybe he was afk, while waiting for Luigi to come back from the loo or something. However, this does raise one huge concern. What if he wasn't here on holiday? What if Bowser is in our lands too?!!?! Oh no. *grabs whip and armour* Not again. *sighs*

Yesterday, Canting Away got its home in the sky. Our citadel was unlocked by five of our members (Warlock and TruePowa were amongst them, but I don't know who the other three were), as soon as they were back on-line after the update. They promptly found that they couldn't move over the entrance bridge, until the owner had been on to set the permissions to allow them to do so. I was fetched out of work. For me, the day started with me standing in various spots ticking loads of boxes. The interface was full of categories of which we currently knew little. I clicked some likely looking ones, then took a couple of paces, before someone shouted out, 'No still can't do anything.' In the end, I just gave up and ticked everything. If there is a permission to be given, then my clan have it. I was very amused by the fact that there were several boxes that I didn't have the authority to change. I'm the founder and owner. Whose authority can possibly pwn mine in the circumstances? Give or take, Andrew Gower. After that, I went on a massive exploration of the island. It's huge! I'm really pleased with it. The rest of Canting, by now, had found the sole resource spot and were hard at work getting logs for us. It quickly became obvious that this was one of only two things that could be done. The other was the creation of a battlefield map. Warlock, Zach and Kicker had much fun building something downright impossible for me to get through. Most of the day turned into a lovely few hours of hanging out with friends. Just under a third of Canting walked through the doors at some time. We also had visitors. Ambassadors from the citadels of Green Dusk (Xel) and Sal's Realm (lots of people) came to see us. We have allied links with both clans, allowing free teleportation between our citadel and theirs. We'd soon collected all of our resources and were onto the surplus. Unfortunately there was a lot of confusion here. Was it worth collecting a surplus or not? The like of Warlock and Kicker thought not. Others were telling us that it was, because we retain a percentage. I wanted to carry on there, because it was fun. It was a lovely sociable thing to do, to hack at tree roots, while various people came and went. However, I've spotted something in the forums today, which seems up back up the 'not worth it' school of thought. ;) Edit: Common Sense says that we need 76k logs to max out the first week! Keep chopping! Nevertheless, we had 11 members completely fill their resource caps. Warlock kept a list on the Canting forums, in the spirit of friendly competition. 1. Scheffer Z 2. Teacuptime 3. UP INTHE AlR 4. Xx3070 5. MFI 6. Own Serenity 7. Warlock 8. Dsqogkfgwyar 9. Litster25 10, Merch Gwyar 11, Fred Gwyar Of course, two of the names there - MFI and Own Serenity - got their 1k resources for us, then defected into Sal's Realm. They wanted to access the Sal's keep. ;) As for what else happened, here are my pictures from the day: Members of Canting hard at work chopping logs for our resource stash. Pictured are likely to be: Teacuptime, myself, UPINTHEAIR, MFI, Own Serenity, Calanon and TruePowa. First ambassadorial visit was from Sal's Realm's Finixay77 (Phoenix Rider). Their citadel was stuck, because it was the middle of the night for Sal. No-one had been able to access anything. He came to see how ours looked, in the correct assumption that the Sal's citadel was going to look exactly the same. All very polite, we were, as this was a formal event. Finixay77 bowed and I curtesied back. Own Serenity, knowing that Finixay is a devout Christian, did the prayer skillcape emote to welcome him. It was the first of many visits of the day from non-Canting friends. Next across our entrance bridge was an ambassador from the Green Dusk clan, Sir Xel (though Xel is hardly a stranger in the Canting cc anyway). Xel's in the dragon armour. Teacuptime is, obviously, the person declaring a teabreak. Scheffer Z and Warlock have joined the gang in the background. They had been in the citadel all along, but they were exploring the battlefield, with Nihil Gwyar, when Finixay77 arrived. Another Sal's Realm ambassador, Egghebrecht, came to check on proceedings. We didn't really set the guards on him. I think that one was coming to offer refreshments. >.> In the background are Calanon, myself and F4TAL SH0TZ. Herein, there was a veritable invasion of Slammers: So I took the opportunity to return with them to check out the Sal's Realm citadel. I had an honour escort all the way around! Upon my return to my own citadel, I was proud to note that Canting is currently the only clan allied to Sal's! I'm assuming that won't remain the case for long, so I took the opportunity to take a photo for prosperity. More pictures to come when I've cropped and uploaded them all.

Warlock, Zach and Kicker had been hard at work on our battlefield. It was patently time to check out what horrors they'd set in store for us. We meandered on over, taking some of Sal's Realm clan with us. iAza, Tabt, MFI, Low Ki, Vandyballer, Warlock, myself and Zach are amongst those in these picture. Shout out if you recognize yourself, as I'm basing this largely on the dialogue underneath! I love how, in the second picture, as we are all dying horrifically, Vandyballer asks, "Is this safe?" No, Vandyballer! It was built by psychopaths! What on Gielinor makes you think it could possibly be safe?! However, somehow this happened: It couldn't have been anything to do with me, as I never made it past the third room. But I think that we had Warlock on our team; and he knew what to expect, as the sadistic git had helped build the thing. It was all a bit much for my fragile sensibilities, so I went back to chopping my tree. Peace didn't last for long though, as two Slammers appeared and launched a vicious and unprovoked joint cat-fight attack on me. Their demands that I hand over the Canting citadel to Sal's were hampered slightly by the fact that both MFI and Low Ki were giggling in my ear via Skype. I naturally nice doggy!-slapped them soundly and that was that. It was around now that I noticed our keep's skirting board for the first time. Isn't that a gorgeous Celtic knotwork design? Our great skirting board became a huge focus of attention from hereon in. We showed everyone! And it got mentioned in our meeting! Calanon agrees. Im Sleepy comes all the way from Sal's citadel to see what all of the fuss is about. In skirting board awe, ImSleepy takes a closer look, while Tabt appears to inspect the now famous baseboard. The amassed Slammers were so consumed by jealousy, that they tried to kill me, in order to steal OUR skirting board! Fortunately, I jumped out of the way of Tabt's giant boulder in time. Calanon did nothing, but set his own whip hand on fire. But I bravely defended our keep's skirting board by using the momentum of my questcape emote to throw ImSleepy high into the air. (See the dragon boots on the way back down.) I'd stuck that pole underneath to spear her on her return. Citadel safe! Sal's cc must have been full of Slammers gushing over the wonderful Canting skirting board, because Sellador (Common Sense) came to visit us. He was naturally escorted, in some ceremony, to see it. Sellador was obviously overcome with longing too. Meanwhile Tabt, apparently trusting that diplomatic negotations between me and Sellador would gain the skirting board for Sal's, planted a huge flower garden, while she waited. I could see what they were up to, so requested that Calanon lead our guests on a tour of our citadel instead. While we sneaked reinforcements at the back (ohai MsClick), the Slammers were distracted from our skirting board by a trip to see our up and coming mining facilities. Then, of course, like all good wars, we stopped for a game of football. This was PKing football though. Low Ki, for Sal's, was well aware of Litster's high cooking level, hence he prayed 'protect from chef' when he attacked him. Incidentally, Sellador had arrived to find his fellow clan-mates engaged in the most hippy invasion force ever. Click here to see that one in its full-sized glory. Naturally, with such a clear and present danger to our well-being, it was time to call together all of Canting (well, all of those a, currently in the citadel and b, willing to come) for a meeting! Once Calanon had finished his speech about the Slammers plus skirting board issue, Zach took to the podium to lead the discussion on clan administrative matters. Then I stepped up for a rousing, morale-boosting speech. Followed by MsClick, who affirmed to us that, with all Canting members working as a team, we would be able to create a great citadel. With many rounds of Viva Canting! We all returned to the tree and completed our 1k logs cap! Win!

I'm back from Glastonbury! Well, I've been off the festival site since Monday evening, but we have friends in Glastonbury town, so much recovery occurred there. I'm still aching in bits that I didn't know that I had, but I had an amazing time. :P Here's the song that, to me, sums up the festival. Me dancing like there's no-one watching. I have been writing up a blog of Glastonbury 2011, day by day, would you be interested in reading that here? In the meantime, back to the plot - my hiscores as per July 1st 2011. I finally got level 88 slayer! :( The plan is still to ninja everything up to over level 90. At the moment, I have a load of pure ess, so the ZMI altar is where I'm mostly to be found. I have a lot of BBC coverage of Glastonbury to catch up on, so I'll probably be watching that as I runecraft.

I had my 'being at work' head on. My mind was full of Mexican government initiatives and the press releases of American travel agencies. So I e-mailed Fred and I was all, 'blah, blah, blah, work stuff, blah' and he replied with, 'blah, blah, work stuff, get onto Runescape.' What can a girl do? So I logged in and meandered over to Fred's house, in Yanille, knocked on the door and then settled down beside him in his artic garden. Was this a meeting or something going on or...? He invited me into his combat arena. I wasn't scared. I'd just come from slayer, so I was well-equipped against magic attacks. Unfortunately, he was smacking me around with a Zammy spear, for which black dhide isn't the first line of defensive outfits for the fashionably pwnt. I was getting wise to the fact that something special was about to happen though, so I quickly typed my message. And there it was! Fireworks aplenty, filling the air and zapping into awesomeness above our heads! Fred got 99 Attack! But just while I was gushing over that, he announced that he wasn't yet finished What? :D I wasn't nearly fast enough, spluttering out a mere 'Congrats!' as he achieved 99 defence with his next whack of the Zammy spear. But he still wasn't done! As that Zammy spear came down again, in a killing whoop, he got the hat-trick! 99 strength! Now that's what I call a good day's work! Congrats again, Fred! Afterwards, Fred had to log, as real life was maliciously getting in the way of xp, but Pie and Orix had turned up. We hung around the streets of Yanille, canting, before I rushed off to do some slayer. I patently had some catching up to do. -.- While I was there, the Canting conversation turned to a hidden city that was discovered earlier today by someone on the RS forums. Litster told me about it, but Warlock had the codes. Go to the fairy ring and put in DIR (you'll end up with the Goraks, so come out again), then put in AKS. Instead of a hunting ground, as expected, you end up in Kethis. This is the city hinted at, by the Chaos Elemental, as relating to the Dragonkin. It's a real city! I couldn't get any further than that corner, but all I could see made me think that it's going to be an agility course. There's much talk on the forums about it being the next stage in the Ritual of the Mahjarret questlines.

Made a few of them (with better pictures :(), take a look and comment please. Had to sketch them at first, I eye hurt when I tried to sketch the details in the clan cloak. Then, tried to figure out the colours that are suitable. I tried to keep Merch's Teal Green wizard hat as a base line/control. Found out that most colours don't really fit in nicely with Teal Green. Take a look at my rough designs. A liked the simpler one on the right :/. P.S. The template for the cloak designs are here incase you want to recolour it : Click Me! P.S.S.
