Okay. I hope it stated exactly why they failed to make the vote. How about inactive Moderators or those who abuse power? Little action(that i can see) seems to be taken against them. Moderators being inactive is understandable: sometimes you just can't come on. But those who misuse authority? What is done about them? Or do Moderators have a sort of reluctance to punish one of their own? If so, then why is it so? A person in authority has to execute his duty "without fear or favour", in short, without bias. Even if it is punishing your friend.

All of the currently inactive moderators have provided their own reasons to the moderating team. I assume as they are still moderators, that those reasons sufficed.

Okay. I rest my case. If I'm not wrong, there was a topic on inactive Mods before. Almost everyone flamed the poor sod who said certain inactive(at that time) mods should be demoted. They had valid reasons though. Sorry...but how about mods who misuse their power? Its said that you can pm a global mod or something...but what if its a global mod whos being abusive? And say...salmoneus doesn't think so? What then? Sorry... i'm in this...critical mood today. :/

Sorry if i indirectly mean you. I was pissed about the pk guide in which anyone who gave tips automatically got warned n put under admin review. I protested, and nothing was done. i felt it an abuse of power. Phew! I didn't get fried... Next time, i'll watch my mouth. But i'll still protest against injustice! :o

Heh...we all do. :/ But this was mentioned in one of the pages by at least 2 mods and Salmoneus. I read them. 3rd page, i think.

Obviously there will be new DMs (carefully chosen ones). We are working on a process to keep the voting fair, and to prevent it from taking months to announce new DMs--meaning that those who deserve it will have a better chance at becoming a DM.

Yay about time we have dm's with like 50 posts that I dont even know. Only certain people deserve it that our popular on sals get it. Not some guy know one knows about.

 

The best dm I would have to give it to monra because everyone knows him.

Firslty, even though it is kinda sad for them they lost their dm status, I don't think they care much since they lost it because of inactivity. I mean, you can't really miss something you are not "using" or "enjoying" if you know what I mean.

 

Also, please do not nominate other people for dm. Firstly, it won't have any impact on the mods/dms choices. It will also probably hurt their chances, because sometimes, you don't know if that person that you nominated asked you to do that :o.

 

@Zombie_kid: I tought Cam said he won't post the list, because it would be adding insult to the injury, so I don't see why you asked for it :/.

 

And Julz, I don't think you should have posted the list. I know 1800 said he would post it, but Cam and others spent a long time saying they wouldnt post the list.

 

@un0numer0: I think that Sal is very busy with sorking on this forum and the main site. If you think that some mods abuse their power, there are others mods or adms you can pm to inform them I guess ;). Moderators do not have the power to do everything what they want. How would you explain the fact that some mod got de-modded then? :P

 

Edit: @Queen Missy: I tought tpp at first that this topic would be nominating. I waaaas eager to see if my own personal toughts would be realised, but I found out quickly jsut as you did that we wil have to wait a bit to see new DMs.

 

If I may add a personal touch, I think it is a good decision kinda :/. I know some dm will maybe be sad/"angry" because they lost their status, but it will make people realise that being DM is something you must deserve to both get the status and keep it.

Just to let you guys know, i have no problem with losing this. i am VERY inactive, althought i do come and take a look sometimes...

 

I dont even play RS anymore because of no more membership.

 

I might reconsider regaining titles once i have the time...

I feel sorry for the DM's, some of them definitley deserved to loose it (with less that 1 post per day)....some, I think, should still be DMs. Namely Toungy and Beeboy.

If it was a vote by the staff I think it was a popularity contest. Yes, activity was probably part of it, but I think mods wouldnt vote for their friend to lose DMship :o
