Because usually people act how they are with their music, some don't. No one HATES the person, they hate the music they listen to, but might come off as they hate the person but they really don't like the music.

 

I've known some cool people that listen to music I really hate.

I dont dislike ppl with other taste of music, I think ppl should just be open and accept other ppls choice of music.

I don't hate people for the type of music they listen to. I just hate it when they say stupid stuff about the music I listen to when I take in there music with open arms. I'll listen to nearly anything. From techno to country. So I like alot of music. But, if you try to down my music. I will down yours too. Sorry.

I'm hated for the music i listen to, i've been told to take my music t-shirts off, that featured slipknot and other metal bands, by my school principal and others, but i do it anyways, metal haters are always hating on me. I don't know why they just won't accept the style of music i listen to. :/

A few people hate me because I listen to Rock and Metal and dislike Rap, apparently, but they're subcultural stereotypes. They're uneducated idiots, so I prefer to ignore them. I've never known anybody normal who hated others for their music preferences, though.

It might have something to do that rock and roll originated out of ideas of sex, metal is an extremely "violent" version of rock and roll. Although I would just sue your school for denying freedom of speech :/

 

My mom thought I was retarded for listening to a rock opera earlier but I like it.

I dislike the fact that almost nobody at my school appreciates the "old school rock" which is like GNR, Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc. and they instead crank up the Soulja Boi because apparently being gangsta is so awesome these days. Yeah, ganging up on people to get their money, shooting other people for no reason, doing harm to your own body by taking drugs (though I'm not sure about that). Oh yeah that is so great being a gangsta... <_<

Though I don't hate people for their taste in music. Sure I diss their genre, but I don't hate them. It does get quite annoying when they actually act with their music. I think that people who dance to Crank That are just making fools of themselves... I almost got into mainstream rap at one time, but then I decided myself I'd go with rock and I realized that I only liked the rap (wow I can't believe I actually LIKED it) because it was what everyone else was doing. Hehe when everyone's smoking pot I won't make the same mistake.

Like Popsicle said, they probably hate the band...and band T-shirts are hardly suitable to wear to school as they sometimes has references to drugs and alcohol on them.

 

By the way, old school rock is more Led Zepplin, ADCD, Kiss and the Rolling Stones...

I remember once some gothic girl on school, she weared leather cloths and some parts were naked <_<

Believe me it was a bit of akward clothing, u cant blame that some people start talking about here

The next day she wore anything else, well she was really the topic of the day on our school

Half the time, I believe that they just hate the music, not the actual person. I have loads of good friends who listen to rap, I hate rap, I love rock, they hate rock. They always tell me my music is crap but other than that I get on with them like a house on fire. (Similies FTW)

 

Other people actually do hate the people, but I doubt that is because of the music, but because of the reputation and style that comes with the music. For example, I hate all chavs (don't want to explain what a chav is for those who don't know, look it up) that I do not know, this is because a lot of them are giving themselves a reputation of being trouble makers and attempting to start a fight with anybody for the sake of it. So when I see a chav, I immediately dislike them until I actually know that they are pretty cool.

In my old school people used to get bullied for wearing hoodies with bands on or having long hair (boys).

Funnily enough it was always those people who were bullied and the people in tracksuits listening to their rave and rap were always doing the bullying.
