Thanks again for everyone who participated. I'm so glad to finally have the guide finished. I myself can't wait to hopefully see this guide on the site. I want to say I couldn't have done this guide without any of you. Thanks again!

This was taken directly from the hunter guide. I'm fairly sure u can se this in other guides, so this would work better than the current section we have.

Jungle: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Jungle. If you exit this area, you may not turn around because you will fall a little ways from a cliff, that is unreachable unless you have a Thatching Spar obtained from Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup or a Teasing Stick that you can use with the young vine to help it grow, making it able for you to climb back up into the cave.

Polar: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Snow region. When you exit this dungeon you will appear on a crevice and must use handholds to get down, and this time you can go back up to use the Eagle again, to return to the Woodland.

Desert: If you use a rope on this particular Eagle you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Desert region, however you cannot exit this dungeon unless you have entered it from the desert at a point in time beforehand, and moved the boulder out of the way. The entrance to this dungeon is located north of the desert phoenix and west of the clay mines of the Ruins of Uzer.

The only one missing, which I was mis-informed about, is the karamjan jungle eagle. It takes u to the maze east of shilo village, used in the quest 'Back to my Roots'. It's also used in the 'body of clarence' mini-quest.

Quote from the agility guide about everything that restores run energy. I think we should add it in somewhere.

whitefruit.pngWhite Tree Fruit - When eaten, this fruit replenishes 8% of your energy. Can be picked from the White Tree after completing Garden of Tranquility.

summerpie.gifSummer Pie - When eaten, restores 10% of your energy and temporarily increases your Agility level by 5. Can be cooked.

energypot.gifEnergy Potion - Restores 10% of your energy (per dose) when drank. Made with your Herblore skill.

supenergypot.gifSuper Energy Potion - Restores 20% of your energy (per dose) when drank. Made with your Herblore skill.

strangefruit.gifStrange Fruit - When eaten, this odd fruit restores 30% of your energy. Obtained from the Strange Plant Random Event.

goutweed.gifGoutweed Tuber - Restores 50% of your energy when eaten. Obtained from the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup mini-game.

mintcake.gifGnome Mint Cake - Restore 50% of your energy when eaten. Obtained from the Gnome Restaurant mini-game.

In the eagles section there is no mention of the karamjan eagle. How's this?

Karanjan Jungle Eagle: When this eagle is roped it takes you to the jungle east of Shilo Village, south of Brimhaven, and west of Musa Point. The landing point, a maze, is used in the quest Back to My Roots, and the Body of Clarence Mini-Game.

First: Polar eagle pic isn't working anymore so here's a new one.

Second: IMO I think it'd look better to add everything that restores run energy into it's own sub-topic. Maybe put it under the 'Other moving methods'? You add the ones ^ Up there and the lumby explorer ring, which restores 50% run energy 3 times daily.

Just a spelling mistake to point out.

Here

The mistake is "Tavlery" should be Taverly. :aware:

Did you use Word? Because there were some spelling errors and well.. the grammar wasn't so hot. :) I fixed up the guide a bit while still keeping it 'you'. I hope it doesn't seem rude, I was just trying to help. You don't have to use it, but please consider some of it as it took me hours to figure out how to change the guide without actually 'changing' it, you know? :aware:

[p][name=basics]The Basics:[/name]
First off, I’m going to tell you how to move in RuneScape. All you have to do is right click anywhere on the game screen and your character will move there! You can also run; to activate your Run, simply click on your Player Controls interface (which looks like a wrench) and click the running man icon.

[/p]

Alternatively, you can hold down the control button (you will only run as long as you are holding the button though).

Now when you click on the space you would like to go to, you will get there faster than you would have if you walked. But beware - your energy will decrease as you run. Your energy will start as 100% and slowly decrease until it reaches 0%. When it reaches 0%, you your character will automatically start walking.

There is a way to make you run longer; Agility! The higher your agility level, the longer you will be able to run. If your agility level is high, your energy will not reach 0% as fast as it normally would. For tips on how to raise agility, visit the Agility Help Guide.

You can also recharge your energy by eating a Strange Fruit, aquired from the Strange Plant random event. Purple Sweets, aquired from Treasure Trails, are stackable and heal 10% of your energy. Energy Potions, as well as Super Energy Potions, restore run energy based on your agility level.

Keeping your Run high is fairly simple; either wear light armor, or clothing that decreases your characters weight. Mithril is light and durable and helps free players, as well as members, run for longer periods of time (compared to, let’s say, rune). Another recommendation in apparel is Spotty Capes, Spottier Capes, Spottiest Capes and Boots Of Lightness (all members only). These are recommended because they bring your weight down and, therefore, allow you to run for a longer amount of time.

Your energy does recharge overtime, however, the higher your agility level, the faster it will recharge. Your run energy will only recharge when you are walking or standing still. You will learn how to run when you start some of the very first moments of your game play, on Tutorial Island! If you wish to see how much energy you have left, check your player control interface or check the upper right corner of your screen (next to the logout button where your prayer points, hitpoints, and summoning points are located.) Your energy is the 2[sup]nd[/sup] icon from the bottom.
You should see your Run here:

[p][name=teles]Teleports:[/name]

Most likely, the main reason you’ll want to train magic when you first start RuneScape is to be able to teleport. Teleportating is the most popular way to get around and it’s definitely the quickest. There are many places to teleport to and each requires its own set of teleport runes. Law Runes are used in all teleport spells and they can cost anywhere around 300-435gp each, so stock up on these the next time you go on a shopping spree!

One of the most basic teleports is, of course, The Lumbridge Home Teleport. Although teleportation is often very quick, this could be the only exception. It takes a long time to actually teleport and can be interrupted by any form of combat, so don't use this to get out of a bad situation! Another thing is that it takes a long time to recharge - 30 minutes to be exact! Other teleports aren’t like this; they don’t need time to recharge and can be used in most sticky situations. Keep in mind teleporting will cost you money one way or another, so make sure you have the money to support yourself.

Modern Magics:

First, let’s start with your spell-book. You have already learned how to use magic in Tutorial Island so this area is just to give you some knowledge about the teleport spells themselves. There are 13 different spells in this spell-book.

* Denotes a Members-only spell
The red squares and circles show where you will teleport with that specific teleportation spell.

You have the option to turn accept aid on or off. If accept aid is off and someone casts a teleother spell on you, nothing will happen to your character. Teleporting Through Your Player Owned House

To teleport within a house you need to be a member and must have bought a house - or be at a friends. There are two rooms which allow you to make teleportation tablets or portals. The Study allows you to make tablets and in the Portal Chamber you can make different teleportation portals.

Portal Chamber - In this room you are allowed to build 4 portals, your portal options are: Varrock, Lumbridge, Falador, Camelot, Ardougne, Watchtower, and Al Kharyrll. The room looks like this:

Here are the prices for making each teleport portal.

(Teleport - Cost - Requirements)
Varrock - 100 law runes, 300 air runes, 100 fire runes - NONE
Lumbridge - 100 law runes, 300 air runes, 100 earth runes - NONE
Falador - 100 law runes, 300 air runes - NONE

Watchtower - 200 law runes, 200 earth runes - Must have completed the Watch Tower.
Kharyrll - 200 law runes, 100 blood runes - Must have completed Desert Treasure.

The Study Room – Here you can make teleportation tablets which, unlike runes required for a spell, take up only one inventory space. You need soft clay, the runes required for the spell, and the correct lectern. When you use the lectern, a screen will pop up showing you all possible tablets you can make. The screen looks like this:

The tablets then turn into something like this:

(There are 10 tablets in this picture. Tablets are stackable!)

     - Teleportation Tabs

Just break it open and you will be where you want to be. Ardougne, Camelot, Falador, House, Lumbridge, and Varrock are the available places to go to.

[p][name=randoms]Random Events[/name]

If you have played RuneScape long enough, you would know that it is never at peace. At any given time you may receive what is called a "random event". Two specific random events that get you around are The Sandwich Lady and Molly's Sister. If you pick the wrong sandwich during the Sandwich Lady's event, she will knock you out cold and teleport you to a random area.

Niles, Miles and Giles are business partners who run around the world of RuneScape requesting players' help. You need to answer their questions wisely or you will be teleported away from your current area. If you ignore them, you will also be teleported.

The Wise Old Man sometimes appears and asks for you to speak with him. Ignore him and he will teleport you away.</div>

[p][name=trees]Spirit Trees:[/name]

Spirit Trees are another method of getting around RuneScape. They don't require any runes and offer a quick teleport to important areas in a members’ world. To use a spirit tree, walk up to one and right click on it. Once there, you should see the options box with five choices: "Talk to Spirit Tree", "Teleport Spirit Tree", "Walk here", "Examine Spirit Tree", and "Cancel".

Click on “Talk To Spirit Tree”. Click yes to go to Tree Gnome Village, click no to remain in your area. If you've clicked yes, then you will appear in the Tree Gnome Village. You could also just click “teleport” instead though.

[/p]

Once there, you can talk to the Spirit Tree again. Talk to it again and you will be given four different loacations to teleport to. The reason you’ve gone to Tree Gnome Village to do this is because that is where the main Spirit Tree is located. You cannot use another spirit tree without coming here first to have these options unless you’ve finish the Path Of Glouphrie.

Note: You need to have finished The Path Of Glouphrie to have this Spirit Tree added to your Spirit Tree system.

Upon finishing Tree Gnome Village, you may use all Spirit Trees to teleport to the village's tree, an exception being the one in the Tree Gnome Stronghold, which may not be used to teleport anywhere until finishing The Grand Tree.

(Note:) You can grow a Spirit Tree through farming (requires level 83) to use the Spirit Tree system.</div>
[p][name=glider]Gnome Gliders:[/name]

Spirit Trees aren't all the gnomes offer - you can also use Gnome Gliders. They are found all over RuneScape and are a quick form of transportation. To use Gnome Gliders you must have completed Tree Gnome Village. Approach the Gnome Captain, right click him, and click the "Glider" option. A map will show up as shown below.

[/p]

There are six choices, here is a quick “translation” of the map:

1. Sindarpos (White Wolf Mountain)

2. Ta Quir Priw (The Grand Tree)

3. Kar-Hewo (Al-Kharid)

4. Gandius (Karamja)

5. Lemantolly Undri (Feldip Hills)
After completing One Small Favour.

6. Lemanto Andra (Digsite)

If you’ve started Monkey Madness, you can also use the Gnome Gliders to fly to Crash Island (just by Ape atoll). Then, speak to another Gnome there and you'll be taken to the island by a boat.

Here are the captains:

Captain Dalbur

Feldip Hills Captain

Digsite Captian-
Captain Errdo

Beware, however, that you can't get back from the Digsite, since the pilot will perform a 'creative landing' as you arrive and you will crash. The only way you can arrive at your destination on the map is if you start your journey at the Gnome Stronghold. Example: If you would like to pay a visit to Karamja and you are at Al-Kharid at the time, you must first go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold, then you may go to Karamja.

That may be a set back, but on a brighter note, it's much faster than walking and it’s free too.

[p][name=grapple]Grappling:[/name]

Have you ever seen a James Bond movie where he'll escape an exploding building by grappling a flag pole just outside a window? Well now you can do the same (minus the exploding building and the flag pole of course)! A grappling hook can be made by Smithing a mithril grapple, attaching some mithril bolts, and adding a rope. Voila! You now have a grappling hook! It can be used to scale walls and pass over certain agility obstacles (while wielding a crossbow made of mithril or better). Here are all the shortcuts you can use with a grappling hook... (all shortcuts require a specific Agility, Ranging and Strength level as well as the hook and crossbow).

[p][name=shortcuts]Sneaky Shorcuts:[/name]

There are many sneaky shortcuts around RuneScape. Here are a few to get you started:

1. A simple shortcut, requiring no agility levels or runes, is the shortcut east of Draynor Manor to Barbarian Village. Once you have walked/ran to the entrance of Draynor Manor (where Veronica is), begin walking East. Follow the fence north of the manor and you will arrive at Barbarian Village. Turn east to get to Varrock, North to get to Edgeville or West to get to Falador.

[/p]

2. A great, yet simple shortcut, requiring no agility levels or runes, is the shortcut starting at Rimmington that takes you to Taverly. All that is needed is for you to follow up a pathway and make a left turn. From there, head up towards the makeover mage and go through the gate. Go north until you arrive at a lake. From there, go west, then north to arrive at Taberly.

<div align='center'>

3. Another freeplay shortcut, requiring no agility levels or runes, is the shortcut going behind Lumbridge Castle towards the Wizard's Tower. You walk along the castle wall until you are behind the castle, then you follow a path west until you arrive at a north-south turn. From there, go south and walk down to the Wizard Tower Bridge – now you just cross the bridge and you’re at the Wizard Tower!

4. Getting to Port Sarim can be a pain since there are no teleports that can take you directly there. However, this useful trick will teach you otherwise, and the best part about it is you need no runes or agility levels! If you just happen to be in the desert city of Al-Kharid, you should make your way to Shantay Pass. It is in the very southern part of Al-Kharid just before the desert.

Talk to Shantay and ask him, "What is this place?".

After you click continue, he will ask whether or not you are an outlaw. Click yes and this message will appear:

Then Shantay will put you in a small prison in Shantay Pass.

If you pay him 5 coins you may walk out - refuse this offer.

Shantay will then tell you, "You will be placed in a maximum security prison".

You will then end up in the jail in Port Sarim.

No matter how high ranked you are on the most-wanted list, you can still simply right-click your door, click "pick-lock", and you will find yourself on your merry way just west of the docks.

5. Dark Wizard Tower-Lumbridge Swamp shortcut:
Going from the west side of Asgarnia to South of Misthalin can be a bit annoying. However, if you are a member, Zandar, in the Dark Wizard Tower west of Falador, teleports you to Lumbridge Swamp if you refuse to leave the tower.

</div>

[p][name=sailing]Sailing Around:[/name]

There are many docks located all around RuneScape. Although sometimes it requires a small fee, you use it in many freeplay quests, like Pirate's Treasure, and Dragon Slayer. Sailing is not a very efficient way to travel but sometimes it's the only way.

[p][name=abyss]The Abyss:[/name]

The Abyss is a strange place filled with odd creatures but it can be used to get around very quickly. Before using the Abyss, however, you will have to complete a small mini-quest for the Mage of Zamorak to gain access. Once you have done this, you can speak to the Mage of Zamorak, who is located around level 5-8 wilderness north of Edgeville, and he will then teleport you to a different dimension. Once inside, you will be on the outside ring with your prayer drained to 0 and skulled. To gain access to the inner ring you will have to find a way through. There are many ways to do this, including: chopping tendrils, squeezing through tight gaps and distracting eyes. Once you have gotten through, you will be right outside many "rifts". These are entrances to the many Rune Crafting altars throughout RuneScape. Here comes the part about getting around; once through the altar, you can walk out of it and appear next to the specific Rune Crafting altar - opening back to the Runescape World.

[p][name=canoe]Canoeing:[/name]
There aren’t many options with canoe’s but, for members, they offer a quick and fairly easy way of getting around. The only item needed is your woodcutting axe! Using a canoe is quite simple; approach one of the five locations on River Lum and use you woodcutting axe to chop the canoe stand. Then, depending on your woodcutting level, you may make different types of canoes. Shape it, and then float it on the river. Right click the option "Paddle" or just left click the canoe and choose your location from the following:

[/p]

1. Lumbridge
2. Champion's Guild
3. Barbarian Village
4. Edgeville
5. Wilderness

While you are in the canoe, you can't move or communicate. Your player just paddles the canoe to your destination. Here is what it looks like to be in a canoe:

<div align='center'>

Note: You must be a member to use this feature. When you are in the Wilderness, there is no canoe stand to chop - so if you are ready to embark into the deep level 35 wilderness, don't bring any items you fear to lose.

[p][name=carts]Mine Carts:[/name]

There are two types of Mine Cart transportation systems in the game. Read below to learn about both.

One type of Mine Cart Transportation in the game belongs to the mining lovers; dwarves! You must first complete the Giant Dwarf before allowed to use the dwarven Mining Cart. This system connects the major dwarf locations: Keldagrim, under the White Wolf Mountain, and The Dwarven Mines, under the Ice Mountain. Using this method is rather simple and, for you mining lovers, it can help you get to MASSIVE mining locations for only a small fee of 100-150gp.

[/p]

Just buy a ticket from the conductor and hop on the cart!

<div align='center'>

Here are the cart conductors:

The other type of carting is the Jungle Carts located on Karamja. It connects Shilo Village and Brimhaven. So, if you want to get around that crazy jungle faster, use this method for only a fee of 10-200gp! If you don't have enough money on you, you will be charged less. It is run by two very nice brothers; Vigroy and Hajedy. This method can be used after the completion of Shilo Village. The circles on the map represent where you find the carts.

After the completion of Eagle's Peak, you will have access to 4 giant eagles that can fly you around to different hunting locations.

Jungle: If you use a rope on this Eagle, you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Jungle. If you exit this area, you can’t turn around because you will have fallen a little ways away from a cliff that is unreachable unless you have a Thatching Spar (obtained from Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup) or a Teasing Stick that you can use on the young vine to help it grow, making it strong enough for you to climb back up to the cave.

Polar: If you use a rope on this Eagle, you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Snow region. When you exit this dungeon you will appear on a crevice and must use handholds to get down. This time you can go back up to use the Eagle again to return to the Woodland.

Desert: If you use a rope on this Eagle, you will be brought to the Eagles' Dungeon in the Desert region. However, you cannot exit this dungeon unless you have entered it from the desert once before and moved the boulder out of the way. The entrance to this dungeon is located north of the desert phoenix and west of the clay mines of the Ruins of Uzer.

Now, let’s show you your feathery friends who will be piloting you around RuneScape’s finest Hunting locations.

[p][name=die]Dying:[/name]

Sometimes when you wander around, you may find your hitpoints reach 0! Well, It just that means you have died. Dying is one of the fastest methods of getting around RuneScape. It requires no runes, magic, or agility levels, and you may do it as often as you like. It's not recommended though, because should you be carrying more than 3 items with you when you die, you will lose everything except your 3 most valuable items.
When you die, you will end up at your re-spawn point. You can change your respawn point! The options are: Lumbridge, Falador, and Camelot. Upon finishing Recruitment Drive, you may speak to Sir Tiffy Cashien to change your re-spawn point to Falador. Upon finishing King's Ransom and the mini game, Knight Wave's Training Ground, you may speak to Merlin to set your re-spawn point to Camelot. Once you die you will appear at this spot with your 3 most valuable items and then you will be able to continue with your daily life... but next time, don't be so careless and try not to die!

[/p]

When you die, a message will show up in your chat box saying "Oh dear, you are dead!".

(A spoiler didn't work btw, sorry.)

Excellent guide, Dragonclaw8 and Stevo, it looks great! There is a ton of information about each method of transportation, and the guide itself is very organized and easy to use. This is is definitely a much-needed rewrite to the existing guide, and I'm sure it will be very helpful to many players. Great work! :huh:
