Getting Around Runescape - 100% Complete!

Recommended Posts

Great job so far.

The only transport missing (unless I overlooked it) is using the Eagles.

It might be worth it to mention using the Abyss and crafting altar locations.

How's this for eagles? Pics After.

Eagles

After completion of the quest "Eagles Peak" you will be able to use those 4 giant eagles to get around to 4 different hunting locations. The "Desert Eagle" will take you into the kharidian desert at it's hunting location for slamanders and birds. The "Polar Eagle" will take you up north to the snow hunting region for polar and sabre-toothed kebbits. The "Jungle Eagle" will take you to the feldip hills hunting area for chimchompas and larupias. The final eagle, the "Karamja Jungle Eagle" will take you to exactly its name. Karamja's jungle. It has the hunting creature, horned graaks in it. Now, to get to these eagles you will first have to get to their cave. It is located on the top of a mountain west of the Tree-gnome stronghold. Once through the entrence you will need to go south, then east to reach these animals. Once there simply use a rope on the eagle of your choice to travel to that location. Note that you will not always be able to take the eagle back to the cave. In fact, to return to the jungle eagle you have to use a teasing stick on the young vines to make them grow then you can climb back up to the eagle. To use the desert eagle you will have to unblock the entrance to the cave in the desert. You will be always be able to exit/enter the snow cavern.

PICS!

Well Stevo, I'm guessing there is one thing we could both do right now, and that is probobly attempt to get help and find someone who has photoshop to get some transparancies done, unless you have photoshop. As I said before, my old computer with photoshop broke down, and is still to be fixed. :aware:. So, I guess we could also do some research on getting around and see what we could add to the guide, if you have any good suggestions, PM me or post ok?

Edit: I researched some other guides on the site and on RuneScape and I found the hot air baloon transportation of travelling, I will keep looking for more.

Ok, I'll help you get started with some of the info, just gonna research a bit more.

Edit: I found that we can add to other moving methods: mage arena levers, and wilderness teleport system (I believe they are called obelisks) also, we can add teleport tabs and the abyss, and the shantay pass-port sarim shortcut

Well Stevo, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on your quest completion. I have finished my research for the day, and well, I've proccesed some notes on a doc. saved to my computer. Tommorow, I will try to get some screenshots if any of what I am going to add into the guide. Take your time with writing the mini guide, I'm still waiting :aware:

Thanks for the congrats and now on to the mini-guide:

Ballooning:

After completion of the quest "Enlightened Journey" you will be able to use the hot-air balloon transpot network. It can take you to the following places (for the following cost):

Entrana: none

Tavlery: none

Crafting Guild: 10 oak logs

Varrock: 10 willow logs

Castle Wars: 10 yew logs

Grand Tree: 3 magic logs

balloonmappn9.png

[IMG=http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/6342/balloonmappn9.png]

Note: These are the prices to "unlock" a route. Once unlocked that destination will only cost 1 log (of the same kind).

Note 2: To unlock a track you will need to complete a 3-screen puzzle like you did in the quest.

Here's the shantay pass-port sarim trick

To get to port sarim can always be a pain since there are no teleports to it. However, this useful trick will teach you differently. Once you have gotten to al-kharid by one way or another you should make your way to shantay pass. It is in the very southern part of al-kharid just before the desert. If you talk to shantay and say "What is this place" he will ask you whether you are an outlaw. If you tell him "I am definitely an outlaw, prepare to die!" He will put you in a prison near the pass. If you may him 5 coins you may walk out, if you refuse you will be placed in a maximum security prison. No matter how high ranked you are on the most-wanted list, you can still simply right-click your door, click "pick-lock" and you will find yourself on your merry way just west of the docks.

Once there to activate your running, click on the foot you see. Now, whenever you click on anywhere you would like to go, you will be there at a rate much faster than that of walking, but, as you are running, your running will decrease as you use it. It will start as 100% and slowly decrease, so when it reaches 0%, you can no longer run. There is a way to make you run longer. Agility! The higher your agility level, the longer your running stays up. So, it won't reach 0% as fast as it normally will. There's a reason to go train agility, for tips on how to raise it, visit the Agility Guide on the site. You could also recharge it with using some Strange Fruit, which heals 30% and is aquired from the "Strange Fruit" random, Sweets, aquired from Treasure Trails that heal 10% and are stackable in your inventory, Energy Potions and Super Energy Potions to increase your running percentage. A reccomendation in armor for all is Mithril due to it being light and durable, and helps free players, as well as members keep their running up for a longer time. Your running will recharge, although it takes time, but if your Agility level is high, it won't take very long. It may only recharge when you are walking or standing still. You learn how to run when you start some of the very first moments of your gameplay, on Tutorial Island! If you wish to see how much running energy you have left, check your player controls interface, or check the upper right corner of your screen , next to your logout button, prayer, hitpoints, and summoning points.

Once at this screen, you can activate running, by clicking on the button with the image of a boot on it. Now when you click on the space you would like to go to, you will be there at a much faster rate than that of walking. But beware. When you run, your energy will decrease as you use it. Your energy will start as 100% and slowly decrease. When your energy reaches 0%, you can no longer run and you character will start walking.

You can also recharge it with by eating some Strange Fruit, which increases your energy by 30%. Strange fruit is acquired from the "Strange Fruit" random event. Using the Abyss

The abyss is a strange place filled with odd creatures, however it can be used to get around very quickly. Before using the abyss, however, you will have to complete a small mini-quest for the mage pf zamorak. He will then give you access to the abyss. Once you have completed the mini-quest you can speak to the mage of zamorak in around level 5-8 wilderness, north of "Edgeville"; he will then teleport you to this different dimension. Once inside, you will be on the outside ring with your prayer drained to 0 and skulled. To gain access to the inner ring you will have to find a way through. There are many ways to do this, including: chopping tendrils, squeezing through tight gaps and distracting eyes. Once you have gotten through you will be right outside many "rifts". These are entrences to to the many runscrafting alters throughout runescape. However, now comes the part about getting around, once through the alter you can walk out of it and apear next to it back in the runescape world.
