Stupid Noob! Wants My Password..

Recommended Posts

LOL!

I was at castle wars yesterday (kicked cabbage!)

And then I got this pm from a someone saying..

"I am a member of jagex"

"I need to go to important jagex meeting in 5 mins"

"Give me your password or you will get banned"

"Its your choice"

"Give it to me now or I will choose for you"

"Fine I will choose for you"

^^All in about 5 seconds...

So I say...

"Okay I will give you my password.. 1 Second"

"Its @:;>?4}f Backwards

(At this time I report)

"Could you say your password one by one not backwards"

Then I say..

"@Dgd:$Grd'[email protected]"

"Okay i am going to check this one if its wrong you will be perm banned"

"You are now perm banned"

"Unless you give my your real password"

(I had reported 4 times by now)

"Reported 4 times you noob!"

Then nooby says

"you are banned for being disrespectfull to staff"

(I add to ignore and report again)

Now my quiry is.. I reported 5 times and it seems like Jagex didnt do anything about it.. Like some people could have got tricked after me and got their password stolen..

And Jagex didnt do anything :aware:

You did the right thing.

Jagex receives so many reports a day that it may take them a while for them to read and review each one. They will receive black marks or even be banned after the report is reviewed. Don't worry.

Hm, I guess I don't understand what he would've exactly profited off of had he took your account. Does he not know there is a trade cap in effect?

Anyway, you did the right thing, but no need to sink to his level and start calling him a "noob".

Soon they will take action, you have to remember that Jagex can't monitor every single report that comes in and also if you make more than one it slows the whole cue down.

So you reported a few times over the course of that conversation?

If so you will have captured it in its entirety for them so there is no room for talking themselves out of it...all reports are based on priority, password scamming is among the higher priority so it will get seen to pretty much as soon as possible, if he does the same to a player mod they will report instantly and mute and thats them gone.

If anyone ever does that again just type:

"***************"

"wow, Jagex really does block your pass ...reported lawl"

These jagex impersonating goosedowns should be IP or ISP banned so they could never play again, with any accounts, lame idiots have nothing better to do than fudge people's brains...

Erm, if they banned an ISP, anyone who used them wouldn't be able to play. How is that fair? :aware:

Yah, you did the right thing. Once some guy said he was a member of Jagex and demanded my password. He said the same thing, he'd ban me. I just reported him and ran. Of cournse, I wasnt banned. :aware:

You did the right thing, just because it seems like they didn't do anything they probably did after receiving so many reports.

ONly need to report an offense once.:aware:

But a report consists of 60 seconds of text, if you can get overlapping reports the more the merrier, all acting together to build a watertight case.

I have known some people to talk their way out of a ban due to there only being one instance of what they said, if things are repeated it is stacked against every other thing they said too.

I completely agree with you, but, there's one teeny tiny problem. They can reset their IP and/or use a proxy.
