I outdo the requirements by miles and have a great connection but i can hardley load the freaking thing up and im really annoyed about them messing around with bh.

 

I hope they sort everything out though they must be working hard as hell .

I like the "RuneScape HD - Members-Only Beta Launch" Update. In my opinion, it is good and hopefully, this would make players change their opinion on the graphical look of RuneScape.

This update is a failure. Don't get your hopes up. Your head is too large, male characters look feminine, and many other things..Hated it..they should add a " Old graphics" button.

Pretty great update. I don't know if I particularly like the new homepage, but I'll end up getting used to it. The new log in screen is so much nicer, and now that I actually downloaded the newest version of Java, the flames are animated for me (they weren't before).

 

I knew there would be complaining, but you really shouldn't. If you've been playing RS long enough, you know that every big update comes with lag, possible (probable) bugs, and that members are catered to much more than free players. How much speculation was there that Summoning would be f2p? What happened with that?

 

You have to remember, the big graphics update was not even the only thing they did. They changed three major cities, emotes, and a few other things. Even if that was the only update, there would have been lag. Everyone has to download it, and it just takes time before it's fully functional. Like I said, it's the same with all other major updates. I don't understand why such a big deal has been made out of this one specifically.

 

As for Jagex disregarding free players, please don't open that can of worms. It's a beta test. Everyone will get the actual update. If I had been asked before this update what they would do with a beta version of an update they want to release in the future, I'd say the most logical thing to do is give the beta version to members for a while. And not even that, just imagine how much worse lag would be if everyone had gotten this update. It's really for the best.

 

I'm personally excited about how the game will turn out once everything has settled into place, and I'm more than happy to wait.

The character models look the same for both details, why do they need to do this lol... They look so aweful. I could have lived with the old character models at least, new settings look good.

Wow, really! The first day it comes out it has to be perfect or its a failure? They already said the update was optional.

 

This a great update. And like Monte Kyle said, you can always expect lag/bugs when a big update comes out. Honestly, you guys should know that by now...

If it was made a beta test for everyone, people would be complaining about how they should have done it for members at first to avoid INSANE crashes, lag, etc. If they didn't change the character design, people would complain since they've been the same forever. People will always find something to complain about, and it's pretty funny.

Have any fo you ever visited the rants section of the RS official forums? People search for things to rant about. And that's exactly what some idiots are doing here. Ever heard of the word BETA? Besides, this update has only been released a few hours, and you already call it 'failure'. Oh great job, guys.

 

 

Of course it has glitches! And that's exactly what the BETA is for. Have you ever graphically updated a 3D to make it have total new graphics, complete with even things such as anti-alias? On JAVA!

I had to be patient and I had to update my graphics card, BUT:

 

It looks amazing. Really, the full screenmode :) and how everything looks just so wonderful :)

 

Only problem is... I'm not a member at the moment :)

 

But, Jagex is right about letting only members using the Beta. Now they can get all the bugs out.

 

I only have one small question: anyone any idea when this Beta period will be over?

The BETA should only take about a week. Then they'll do a week of bug fixes.

usually open beta is the last step to fine tune a program or feature depending on the product it could tales weeks months or even a year. But at the rate Jagex dishes out there updates im thinking 2 weeks or end of July but thats just a guess.

 

ppl here mentioned it was the same when they moved from RS classic to RS 2 it started members only so they should be able to give a more accurate guess.

 

bottom line is having members test the game will make it faster to detect bugs and find solutions to then than it would have taken if Staff were working on that solo.

this looks awesome! jagex really outdone themselves this time. This is one of the reasons i came out of runescape retirement, because of this huge graphical update. Too all you fakers, good luck faking on this, if you do it will be a hell of a fake. I'm really looking forward to the release and will be patient till then.

One of the bugs that i found that was quite funny was that

my character was cut in half. I could see my cape through

my stomach :). Thank god this is BETA. Cause if this was

the real deal i think we all know how much of the flaming level

would increase

I find it funny how so many lags and stuff. I don't really lag. The emotes (most of them) have changed as well, I specially like how you actually look like your headbanging now with the headbanging emote.

 

I'd be happy if this was the official and not a beta (without the bugs), but then again, I am not a spoiled brat as some others.
