[name=1]Introduction[/name]
Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armour in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

[name=2]Degrading[/name]
When first used for fighting the armour will degrade to 100, at an unknown time the armour will be used up and degrade to 75, the armour keeps the stat bonuses, then it will degrade to 50. Then, 25, and at last 0. When degraded to 0 the armour will become broken and unwearable. When degraded to 100 to 25 the armour will become untradeable and unsellable. When not used at all and no number is next to the name or when at 0 the armour is tradeable. Obviously unused armour is worth a little bit more then armour at 0. Also, it takes 15 hours of solid combat, solid meaning non-stop, for the weapon and armour to degrade from 100 to 0. After degraded to 0 there is a repair cost explained in the next section.

[name=3]Repairing[/name]
When using barrows armour let it be said now that there is an extra cost. That cost is repairing.

These people can repair your barrows armour and weapons:

Bob - the Axe merchant in Lumbridge.

Tindel - the Tindel merchant at Port Khazard.

Dunstan - the Smithy in Burthorpe.

Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knight's Outpost.
The prices are:

Helmets - 60,000gp

Legs - 80,000gp

Body Armor - 90,000gp

All Weapons - 100,000gp

Full set = 330,000 gp.
Repair information:

Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.

Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.

Legs: third

Weapon: First
You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:

With 1 smithing:

helm: 59,700gp

Plate: 89,550gp

legs: 79,600

Weapon: 99,500
With 99 smithing:

helm: 33,000gp

Plate: 45,450gp

Legs: 40,400gp

Weapon: 50,500gp
The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

[name=4]Melee Barrows Armour[/name]
The Melee Barrows Armour choices are Verac's, Dharok's, Torag's, and last but not least Guthan's. Each set comes with a different purpose and a different special attack. When fighting them it is highly advised to use the prayer protect from melee, because it lowers the chances of being hit with a player using the set. Protect from melee requires level 43 prayer. Useful information: Torag's set effect only works sometimes as the others are always working. Here are the Sets.

[name=5]Torag The Corrupted[/name]
Torag the Corrupted is the second-youngest of the Barrows brothers. Torag's uses Melee attacks. It has the best defense bonuses out of all the armours but the worst weapon. Many people buy the set without hammers because the hammers do not hit well. The hammers require 70 attack and 70 strength to weild.

Special attack: Corrupted
Special attack being the big reason why hammers are not used, the attack doesn't hit it just takes 20% of the opponents run energy away, not very useful so people usually use the abbysal whip and a rune defender with this set.

Pros: Very good for training and being defensive.
Cons: Very Bad weapon and special attack.

[name=6]Verac the Defiled[/name]
Verac the Defiled is the youngest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, His special Breaks Through Prayer, which makes him hit very high. The Protect from Melee Prayer is advised to be kept on when fighting a player using this set, because it deflects some damage thus saving your life. It isn't rare for someone to hit 30's frequently when using this set because of the special. Verac The Defiled is the prayer set, it's weapon is used because of the special. Which will be explained later in verac's set information. The weapon is veracs flail and reuires 70 attack to weild.

Trade Price: 3,300,000

Quest Item: No

Special: Defiler-This stays on when the full set is equipped, it breaks through prayer and hits like it normally would causing high damage when players use protect from melee and other protection prayers.

Pros: Hits through prayer, great weapon, and good defense.
Cons: 3,300,000 for the full set. Most can't afford the helm.

[name=7]Dharok The Wretched[/name]
Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and the lower his health is, the harder he hits (his special). Dharok attacks much more slowly than the other brothers, slower then a granite maul, but he has the ability to hit up to 110 when he is at low health (possibly 1 health when the total is 99). When fighting a player with this set it is advised to use the prayer protect from melee, just to lower the damage done because dharok's is said to be the strongest of the melee sets.

Special attack:
Wretched: When you have 99 hp and only 1hp left the dharok's set can hit up to 110!. Making up for it being slow.

Pros: very powerful!
Cons: Slow.

[name=8]Guthan The Infested[/name]

Guthan the Infested is the third oldest of the six Barrow brothers. He attacks with melee. Very Respected because of the special effect expalined later on. Also, the set has very good defense and attack bonuses but, the weapon is considered by many, "overpriced." The weapon is the most expensive item in the set being a rousing 7m!

Special: infestation: When attacking the set special infestation may occur, the set special is three ghost like entities circling around your opponent in an upwards motion, like torag's set, this special is visible meaning you can see when it happens. When you see the special happen what ever you hit gets added to you hp.

Pros: Restores hp by itself.
Cons: Not the best defense ever.

[name=9]Range Barrows Armour[/name]
The only choice is Karil's. Karil The Tainted. One of the best range sets in runescape, though it degrades like all other armour if buying a full set it is worth it.

[name=11]Magic Barrows armour[/name]
Ahrims is here. The cheapest of all other barrows armours. Great Spells to cast and making every spell more powerful having a pretty useful special, one of the best barrows sets, the best, to many.

Cons: Bad range defense, no range defense to be exact.

[name=13]High and low alchemy[/name]
High and low alchemy are magic spells, using the magic skill training it to 35 will allow low alchemy as level 55 is required for high alchemy. They are meant to get money out of items, by using nature and fire runes it will make your item dissapear and replace it with money. Somtimes it is not worth it to high or low alch and item so Check sal's item database to see the alchemy price or how much money you get by high or low alchemy. If you can not find the price of the high or low alch then it is reccomended not to take your chances high or low alching the item because you might get ripped off and lose loads of money.

[name=14]The Combat Triangle in relationship to the Barrows Armours[/name]
The combat Triangle is what beats what meaning showing the different ways to attack and which one should be which one. Explanation: Runescape is composed of three fighting styles: Melee, Range, and mage, each of with should be able to destroy one another. The melee beats the ranger, the ranger beats the mage, and the mage beats the meleer. The Combat Triangle:

Picture one arrow explanation: Each arrow is pointing to some other skill, the origin of the arrow is pointing to the skill it beats, melee pointing to ranger, and ranger pointing to mage, mage pointing to meleer, and thus the never ending cycle.
Picture two explanation: Each Skill is attacking the skill it is more powerful then.

[name=15]Barrows Weapons-More Depth information[/name]
[name=16]Torag The Corrupted:[/name]
Torag Hammers: Some say these hammers are the weakest weapons in the game, some say they are just for show. They aren't that but they aren't the best weapons ever either. Torag's hammers have a history of hitting low or not hitting. Even when equipped with full torag's these hammers seise to suprise. They barely can hit and if they do they can't really hit high, The hammers are 98,001 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price also is 98,001, the high alchemy is 96,000 and the low is 64,000.
[name=17]Verac The Defiled:[/name]
Verac's Flail: This is considered to be one of the best barrows weapons, due to the special attack breaking through prayer and hitting like it normmaly would hit can cause high amounts of damage. The Flail by itself also is still a good weapon, the flail is also great because aside from the strength bonuses and attack bonuses it gives a prayer bonus, the flail is 189,436 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is 189,436, the high alchemy is 97,000 and the low is 64,000.
[name=18]Dharok The Wretched:[/name]
Dharok's Great-Axe: Very slow and very powerful, the dharok's great-axe is nominated for the strongest barrows weapon, it can hit up to 110 if you have under 1 health when you have 99 health in total,but being slower then a granite maul may have it's disadvantages. The Great-axe hits once every 2 and a half turns. Within the time the great-axe is waiting to hit you may be killed by the opponents weapon. The great-axe is 278,000 as medium price on grand exchange, trade price is also 278,000, the high alchemy is 124,800 and the low is 83,200.
[name=19]Guthan The Infested:[/name]
Guthan's Warspear: The warspear is a great weapon when used with the whole set, some people find it not so great if not used with the whole set. The warspear is the most expensive part of a barrows set. The special restores your health so some people choose not to use food with this set. The warspear is 4,800,000 as medium price on the grand exchange, and the trade price is also 4,800,000, the high alchemy is 60,000 snd the low is 40,000.
[name=20]Karil The Tainted:[/name]
Karil's Crossbow: Very good weapon, only used with bolt racks though the downside is the bolt racks cannot be picked up and saved. They dissapear after they are shot. The crossbow has a very good record of hitting fast and high but a not respected special effect, which lowers the opponents agility level temporarily. The crossbow is 98,078 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 98,078, the high alchemy is 96,000 and the low is 64,000.
[name=21]Ahrim The Blighted:[/name]
Ahrim's Staff: Great weapon, whats great about it is it gives a strength bonus so it can also, be used as a melee weapon. The staff makes each spell more powerful and when wearing the full set it lowers the opponents strength level temporarily, proving useful. The staff is 51,900 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 51,900, the high alchemy is 51,000 and low is 34,000.

The barrows is a place where the forgotten gods and masters of wars dead corpses fight you for disturbing their tombs. They are known as the barrows brother and each are known more commonly as: The master of magic "Ahrim The Blighted", The master of range "Karil the Tainted", The master strength "Dharok the Wretched", The master of defence "Torag the corrupted", The master of Prayer "Verac the defiled", and The master of hit points "Guthans the Infested." They were each killed and rest in an individual tombs and and underground tunnel. They're armours are used by many players through out the land of runescape and are used depending on which combat skill they are using. They are each faught to get their armours from a chest hidden deep in the tunnels of the barrows. Many monsters rot down in the tunnels defending the chest. [name=37]Barrows Armour Shield Slot Enhancers-All[/name]
[name=38]Is the Sheild Slot Important to barrows equipment?[/name] Yes, One of the most important because the weapons are all two-handed no shield slot means no barrows weapon, if using the substituitions from the "Barrows Weapon Substitutions" then this part is applying to that part, The overall answer To the question is "yes very important."
[name=39]2-handed weapons-[/name] 2-handed weapons do not require "this section" of the guide due to the fact you cannot enhance them using the shield slot, when weilding a 2-handed weapon the shield slot is used up and when trying to enhance the shield slot the weapon will come off and appear in your inventory and the shield will be on the Worn-Inventory screen.
[name=40]1-handed weapons-[/name] Choosing a 1-handed weapon from the substitutions list will make this section of the guide useful because improving the shield slot is possible, improving the shield slot means adding something to the shield slot that either makes the rest or the equipment more powerful or helps to protect you.
[name=41]Torag's and Dharok's-[/name] The 1-handed weapon you chose is in the weapons slot on the inventory screen, Torag's and dharok's have the same enhancers so use the enhancer stated next: Enhancers:Torag's And Dharok's: Bronze Defender to Rune Defender/ Mithril-Rune Kiteshield/ Dragon Square shield/ Dragon-Fire Shield. (the one that requires 85 defense)
[name=42]Verac's and Guthan's-[/name] As Torag's and Dharok's have the same enhancers, Guthan's and Verac's have the same enhancers: Enhancers: Guthan's and Verac's: Bronze-rune Defender/ Holy Book Damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ Unholy book damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ Book of balance with Damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ And kitesheild or square shield.
[name=43]Ahrim's and Karil's-[/name] Much Like The others these tow have the same Enhancers:Ahrim's and Karil's: Prayer Books of any kind, Holy, unholy, or balance, can be damaged without any pages or can have 2, 3, or be full/ Any defender/ Any kite or square shield/ anti-dragon fire sheild. (85 defense one)

[name=44]Whip vs Barrows Weapons[/name]
The whip is the best weapon out of all the barrows weapons, but if using a full set of barrows with the set weapon then the barrows weapon still wouldn't be considered the better weapon, it would just be the enhanced version of the worse weapon. Here is The Whips stat Bonuses, and for more information on the barrows weapon stats go to the Weapon section of the guide or the set section of the guide:

[name=47]FAQ[/name]
What's The best armour for melee: Depends on the skill, Defense is Torag's, Strength is dharok's, Hp is Guthan's, Prayer is Verac's and just for knowledge ahrim is magic as karil's range.
When does the armour degrade to 0: From 100 it takes 15 hours of solid non-stop combat for it to degrade all the way to 0, including the weapon.
I have Dharok's can i use guthan's weapon: Yes, You can but it doesn't work as well, if you don't like dharoks because it's slow i reccomend using dragon daggers (p++), (p+), (p), or a regular one.

[name=48]Conclusion[/name]
I hope you have enjoyed the guide and learned about barrows armour too, i hope if you've got 70 defense that you've picked out the barrows armour you want to get. Remember there is an added bonus to the barrows armour, for karil's you also need 70 range to wear, 70 mage for ahrims, and just 70 defense for all the melee armours, the weapons have different things like that too. Bye!

[name=49]Notes[/name]
*Barrow's armour has different skills needed to wear some.
*The Verac's need 70 attack to weild the weapon as torags need 70 attack and strength, aswell as dharok's *need 70 attack and strength, guthan's now like verac's needs 70 attack to weild.
*All of the melee barrows armour need just 70 defense to wear.
*Karil's need 70 defense and 70 range as ahrims need 70 defense and 70 magic to wear.
*The barrows armour has items that make them stronger and work better.
*The helmet is the most expensive out of the rest of the armour

Finally got 70 defence? Think about getting Barrows armour? This guide in depth will explain each set, the cons, and the pros. Barrows armour is some of the best armour in runescape but requires a choice, for meleers, mages, and ranger!

Contents:

Introduction

Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armour in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

Degrading

Repairing

When using barrows armour let it be said now that there is an extra cost. That cost is repairing.

These people can repair your barrows armour and weapons:

 • Bob - the Axe merchant in Lumbridge.
 • Tindel - the Tindel merchant at Port Khazard.
 • Dunstan - the Smithy in Burthorpe.
 • Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knight's Outpost.

The prices are:

 • Helmets - 60,000gp
 • Legs - 80,000gp
 • Body Armor - 90,000gp
 • All Weapons - 100,000gp
 • Full set = 330,000 gp.

Repair information:

 • Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.
 • Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.
 • Legs: third
 • Weapon: First

You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:

With 1 smithing:

 • helm: 59,700gp
 • Plate: 89,550gp
 • legs: 79,600
 • Weapon: 99,500

With 99 smithing:

 • helm: 33,000gp
 • Plate: 45,450gp
 • Legs: 40,400gp
 • Weapon: 50,500gp

The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

Melee Barrows Armour

The Melee Barrows Armour choices are Verac's, Dharok's, Torag's, and last but not least Guthan's. Each set comes with a different purpose and a different special attack. When fighting them it is highly advised to use the prayer protect from melee, because it lowers the chances of being hit with a player using the set. Protect from melee requires level 43 prayer. Useful information: Torag's set effect only works sometimes as the others are always working. Here are the Sets.

Torag The Corrupted

Verac the Defiled

Verac the Defiled is the youngest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, His special Breaks Through Prayer, which makes him hit very high. The Protect from Melee Prayer is advised to be kept on when fighting a player using this set, because it deflects some damage thus saving your life. It isn't rare for someone to hit 30's frequently when using this set because of the special. Verac The Defiled is the prayer set, it's weapon is used because of the special. Which will be explained later in verac's set information. The weapon is veracs flail and reuires 70 attack to weild.

Dharok The Wretched

Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and the lower his health is, the harder he hits (his special). Dharok attacks much more slowly than the other brothers, slower then a granite maul, but he has the ability to hit up to 110 when he is at low health (possibly 1 health when the total is 99). When fighting a player with this set it is advised to use the prayer protect from melee, just to lower the damage done because dharok's is said to be the strongest of the melee sets.

Pros: very powerful!

Cons: Slow.

Guthan The Infested

The only choice is Karil's. Karil The Tainted. One of the best range sets in runescape, though it degrades like all other armour if buying a full set it is worth it.

Cons: Bad special.

Ahrims is here. The cheapest of all other barrows armours. Great Spells to cast and making every spell more powerful having a pretty useful special, one of the best barrows sets, the best, to many.

Quest Item: No.

Special Attack: Blighted Aura: When wearing full ahrim's the special blighted aura can occur, it lowers the opponents strength temporarily.

Pros: Ok defense as well as very cheap.

Cons: Bad range defense, no range defense to be exact.

The Combat Triangle:

combattri2bx1.png

Picture one arrow explanation: Each arrow is pointing to some other skill, the origin of the arrow is pointing to the skill it beats, melee pointing to ranger, and ranger pointing to mage, mage pointing to meleer, and thus the never ending cycle.

Picture two explanation: Each Skill is attacking the skill it is more powerful then.

Torag The Corrupted: toraghammersdv8.png

Torag Hammers: Some say these hammers are the weakest weapons in the game, some say they are just for show. They aren't that but they aren't the best weapons ever either. Torag's hammers have a history of hitting low or not hitting. Even when equipped with full torag's these hammers seise to suprise. They barely can hit and if they do they can't really hit high, The hammers are 98,001 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price also is 98,001, the high alchemy is 96,000 and the low is 64,000.

Verac The Defiled: veracflailsv2.png

Verac's Flail: This is considered to be one of the best barrows weapons, due to the special attack breaking through prayer and hitting like it normmaly would hit can cause high amounts of damage. The Flail by itself also is still a good weapon, the flail is also great because aside from the strength bonuses and attack bonuses it gives a prayer bonus, the flail is 189,436 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is 189,436, the high alchemy is 97,000 and the low is 64,000.

Dharok The Wretched: dharokgreataxeod3.png

Dharok's Great-Axe: Very slow and very powerful, the dharok's great-axe is nominated for the strongest barrows weapon, it can hit up to 110 if you have under 1 health when you have 99 health in total,but being slower then a granite maul may have it's disadvantages. The Great-axe hits once every 2 and a half turns. Within the time the great-axe is waiting to hit you may be killed by the opponents weapon. The great-axe is 278,000 as medium price on grand exchange, trade price is also 278,000, the high alchemy is 124,800 and the low is 83,200.

Guthan The Infested: guthanwarspearka7.png

Guthan's Warspear: The warspear is a great weapon when used with the whole set, some people find it not so great if not used with the whole set. The warspear is the most expensive part of a barrows set. The special restores your health so some people choose not to use food with this set. The warspear is 4,800,000 as medium price on the grand exchange, and the trade price is also 4,800,000, the high alchemy is 60,000 snd the low is 40,000.

Karil The Tainted: karilscrossbowtr9.png

Karil's Crossbow: Very good weapon, only used with bolt racks though the downside is the bolt racks cannot be picked up and saved. They dissapear after they are shot. The crossbow has a very good record of hitting fast and high but a not respected special effect, which lowers the opponents agility level temporarily. The crossbow is 98,078 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 98,078, the high alchemy is 96,000 and the low is 64,000.

Ahrim The Blighted: ahrimsstaffzi7.png

Ahrim's Staff: Great weapon, whats great about it is it gives a strength bonus so it can also, be used as a melee weapon. The staff makes each spell more powerful and when wearing the full set it lowers the opponents strength level temporarily, proving useful. The staff is 51,900 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 51,900, the high alchemy is 51,000 and low is 34,000.

Strength bonuses:

Torag's Hammers: +72

Verac's flail: +72

Dharok's Great-axe: +105

The Barrows mini-game is located just south-east of canifis and just east of mor'ton. It has 5 mounds you need to dig on, each mound having the tomb of a different barrows brother, for each 10 seconds in the tomb 8 prayer points are taken away, and for each brother you kill another 2 prayer points are taken away every 10 seconds.

The barrows mini-game is the only place to obtain barrows armour without buying it. A ver lucky person can obtain two barrows armour peices at once but you must be very lucky, other rewards could be:

*Mind Rune - Around 300 (0-1430) per drop.

*Chaos Runes- Around 120 (0-687) per drop.

*Death Runes - Around 75 (0-383) per drop.

*Blood Runes- Around 40 (0-159) per drop.

*Bolt Racks- Around 38 (0-160) per drop.

*Coins - 0-3072 per drop.

*Dragon medium Helmet

*Half keys

Every 10 seconds you will lose 8 prayers points and for every brother you defeat they will take away another prayer point from you every 10 seconds. The barrows is located south of canifis.

Guthan's Warspear:

Substitutions: Abyssal whip/ Dragon Dagger (p++), (p+), (p), or regular/ Dragon Scimitar/ Dragon Longsword/ for defense pures choose any weapon bronze or iron

Karil's Crossbow:

Substitutions: (no Substitutions are reccomended for this set as well as none for ahrims but here are the ones that could be used) Rune c' bow/ Adamant c' bow. (Use The highest Bolts the crossbow can use for the best effect.)

Ahrim's staff:

(No recommended substitutions, but here are the ones with the best effect besides ahrim's staff) Mud staff/ Lava staff/ Any Elemental staff meaning either air, water, fire, or earth staff/ Any elemental battle staff/ any elemental mystic staff/ (Mystic being one of the most expensive but if you can afford the mud staff then you most definitely afford ahrim's staff, so best to stick with Ahrims.)

Is the Sheild Slot Important to barrows equipment? Yes, One of the most important because the weapons are all two-handed no shield slot means no barrows weapon, if using the substituitions from the "Barrows Weapon Substitutions" then this part is applying to that part, The overall answer To the question is "yes very important."

2-handed weapons- 2-handed weapons do not require "this section" of the guide due to the fact you cannot enhance them using the shield slot, when weilding a 2-handed weapon the shield slot is used up and when trying to enhance the shield slot the weapon will come off and appear in your inventory and the shield will be on the Worn-Inventory screen.

1-handed weapons- Choosing a 1-handed weapon from the substitutions list will make this section of the guide useful because improving the shield slot is possible, improving the shield slot means adding something to the shield slot that either makes the rest or the equipment more powerful or helps to protect you.

Torag's and Dharok's- The 1-handed weapon you chose is in the weapons slot on the inventory screen, Torag's and dharok's have the same enhancers so use the enhancer stated next: Enhancers:Torag's And Dharok's: Bronze Defender to Rune Defender/ Mithril-Rune Kiteshield/ Dragon Square shield/ Dragon-Fire Shield. (the one that requires 85 defense)

Verac's and Guthan's- As Torag's and Dharok's have the same enhancers, Guthan's and Verac's have the same enhancers: Enhancers: Guthan's and Verac's: Bronze-rune Defender/ Holy Book Damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ Unholy book damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ Book of balance with Damaged with 1-4 pages or full/ And kitesheild or square shield.

Ahrim's and Karil's- Much Like The others these tow have the same Enhancers:Ahrim's and Karil's: Prayer Books of any kind, Holy, unholy, or balance, can be damaged without any pages or can have 2, 3, or be full/ Any defender/ Any kite or square shield/ anti-dragon fire sheild. (85 defense one)

FAQ

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed the guide and learned about barrows armour too, i hope if you've got 70 defense that you've picked out the barrows armour you want to get. Remember there is an added bonus to the barrows armour, for karil's you also need 70 range to wear, 70 mage for ahrims, and just 70 defense for all the melee armours, the weapons have different things like that too. Bye!

Notes

*Barrow's armour has different skills needed to wear some.

*The Verac's need 70 attack to weild the weapon as torags need 70 attack and strength, aswell as dharok's *need 70 attack and strength, guthan's now like verac's needs 70 attack to weild.

*All of the melee barrows armour need just 70 defense to wear.

*Karil's need 70 defense and 70 range as ahrims need 70 defense and 70 magic to wear.

*The barrows armour has items that make them stronger and work better.

*The helmet is the most expensive out of the rest of the armour

Introduction

Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armoru in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

runescape -> runeScape

Repairing

When using barrows armour let it be said now that there is an extra cost. That cost is repairing. Bob in Lumbridge will repair the armour at a price. If the armour is 100 he will repair it for 11k or less. When at 75 it will cost 30k or less depending on armour peice. When at 50, 60k or less. When at 25, 100k or less. Lastly, when at 0 he will repair each peice for over 100k. Each peice will come at a different cost.

peice -> piece

Torag The Corrupted

Torag The Corruted is the Barrows Defense set. It has the best defense bonuses out of all the armours but the worst weapon. Many people buy the set without hammers because the hammers do not hit well. The hammers require 70 attack and 70 strength to weild.

Corruted -> Corrupted

weild -> wield

Special attack: Corrupted

Special attack being the big reason why hammers are not used, the attack doesn't hit it just takes 20% of the opponents run energy away, not very useful so people usually use the abbysal whip and a rune defender with this set.

abbysal -> abyssal

Introduction

Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armoru in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

Degrading

When first used for fighting the armour will degrade to 100, at an unknown time the armour will be used up and degrade to 75, the armour keeps the stat bonuses, then it will degrade to 50. Then, 25, and at last 0. When degraded to 0 the armour will become broken and unwearable. When degraded to 100 to 25 the armour will become untradeable and unsellable. When not used at all and no number is next to the name or when at 0 the armour is tradeable. Obviously unused armour is worth a little bit more then armour at 0. After degraded to 0 there is a repair cost explained in the next section.

Repair information:

Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.

Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.

Legs: third

Weapon: First

Again the cost will reflect on the level of damage the armour is at.

You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:

With 1 smithing:

helm: 59,700gp

Plate: 89,550gp

legs: 79,600

Weapon: 99,500

With 99 smithing:

helm: 33,000gp

Plate: 45,450gp

Legs: 40,400gp

Weapon: 50,500gp

The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

Introduction

Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armour in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

Repair information:

Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.

Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.

Legs: third

Weapon: First

Again the cost will reflect on the level of damage the armour is at.

You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:

With 1 smithing:

helm: 59,700gp

Plate: 89,550gp

legs: 79,600

Weapon: 99,500

With 99 smithing:

helm: 33,000gp

Plate: 45,450gp

Legs: 40,400gp

Weapon: 50,500gp

The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

Torag the Corrupted is the second-youngest of the Barrows brothers. Torag's uses Melee attacks. It has the best defense bonuses out of all the armours but the worst weapon. Many people buy the set without hammers because the hammers do not hit well. The hammers require 70 attack and 70 strength to weild.

Trade Price: 1,200,000.

Dharok The Wretched

Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and the lower his health is, the harder he hits (his special). Dharok attacks much more slowly than the other brothers, slower then a granite maul, but he has the ability to hit up to 108 when he is at low health (possibly under 10 or under 20). When fighting a player with this set it is advised to use the prayer protect from melee, just to lower the damage done because dharok's is said to be the strongest of the melee sets.

Pros: very powerful!

Cons: Slow.

Guthan The Infested

Guthan the Infested is the third oldest of the six Barrow brothers. He attacks with melee. Very Respected because of the special effect expalined later on. Also, the set has very good defense and attack bonuses but, the weapon is considered by many, "overpriced." The weapon is the most expensive item in the set being a rousing 7m!

Erm, you can't seriously think those Ghost Brothers images are acceptable, do you? I can count the individual pixels from 20 feet away. You'll be needing new versions of those :aware:

Great looking guide so far, and to Veni Vidi Vici, take a hint and listen to Sp0rts. I've reported you for flaming multiple times, and if that counter in your profile hits 7, you're outta here.

[name=intro]Introduction[/name]
Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armour in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

[name=degrading]Degrading[/name]

[name=repair]Repairing[/name]
When using barrows armour let it be said now that there is an extra cost. That cost is repairing. Bob in Lumbridge will repair the armour at a price. If the armour is 100 he will repair it for 11k or less. When at 75 it will cost 30k or less depending on armour piece. When at 50, 60k or less. When at 25, 100k or less. Lastly, when at 0 he will repair each peice for over 100k. Each peice will come at a different cost.
Repair information:
Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.
Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.
Legs: third
Weapon: First
Again the cost will reflect on the level of damage the armour is at.
You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:
With 1 smithing:
helm: 59,700gp
Plate: 89,550gp
legs: 79,600
Weapon: 99,500
With 99 smithing:
helm: 33,000gp
Plate: 45,450gp
Legs: 40,400gp
Weapon: 50,500gp
The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

[name=melee]Melee Barrows Armour[/name]

[name=torag]Torag The Corrupted[/name]

Quest item:

Special attack: Corrupted
Special attack being the big reason why hammers are not used, the attack doesn't hit it just takes 20% of the opponents run energy away, not very useful so people usually use the abbysal whip and a rune defender with this set.

Pros: Very good for training and being defensive.
Cons: Very Bad weapon and special attack.

[name=verac]Verac the Defiled[/name]

[name=dharok]Dharok The Wretched[/name]

Pros: Restores hp by itself.

Cons: Not the best defense ever.

Range Barrows Armour

The only choice is Karil's. Karil The Tainted. One of the best range sets in runescape, though it degrades like all other armour if buying a full set it is worth it.

Magic Barrows armour

Ahrims is here. The cheapest of all other barrows armours. Great Spells to cast and making every spell more powerful having a pretty useful special, one of the best barrows sets, the best, to many.

Quest Item: No.

Special Attack: Blighted Aura: When wearing full Ahrim's the special blighted aura can occur, it lowers the opponents strength temporarily.

Pros: Ok defense as well as very cheap.

Cons: Bad melee defense, no melee defense to be exact.

High and low alchemy

High and low alchemy are magic spells, using the magic skill training it to 35 will allow low alchemy as level 55 is required for high alchemy. They are meant to get money out of items, by using nature and fire runes it will make your item dissapear and replace it with money. Somtimes it is not worth it to high or low alch and item so Check sal's item database to see the alchemy price or how much money you get by high or low alchemy. If you can not find the price of the high or low alch then it is reccomended not to take your chances high or low alching the item because you might get ripped off and lose loads of money.

The Combat Triangle in relationship to the barrows armours

The combat Triangle is what beats what meaning showing the different ways to attack and which one should be which one. Explanation: Runescape is composed of three fighting styles: Melee, Range, and mage, each of which should be able to destroy one another. The melee beats the ranger, the ranger beats the mage, and the mage beats the meleer. The combat triangle in this picture is split in words and pictures for different people to understand:

combattrianglegn2.png

Key:

Picture one arrow explanation: Each arrow is pointing to some other skill, the origin of the arrow is pointing to the skill it beats, melee pointing to ranger, and ranger pointing to mage, mage pointing to meleer, and thus the never ending cycle.

Picture two explanation: Each Skill is attacking the skill it is more powerful then.

Barrows Weapons-More Depth information

Verac's Flail: This is considered to be one of the best barrows weapons, due to the special attack breaking through prayer and hitting like it normally would hit can cause high amounts of damage.

Dharok's Great-Axe: Very slow and very powerful, the dharok's great-axe is nominated for the strongest barrows weapon, it can hit up to 108 if you have under 10 health when you have 99 health in total,but being slower than a granite maul may have it's disadvantages. The Great-axe hits once every 2 and a half turns. Within the time, the great-axe is waiting to hit you may be killed by the opponents weapon.

Karil The Tainted:karilscrossbowtr9.png

Karil's Crossbow: Very good weapon, only used with bolt racks though the downside is the bolt racks cannot be picked up and saved. They dissapear after they are shot. The crossbow has a very good record of hitting fast and high but a not respected special effect, which lowers the opponents agility level temporarily. The crossbow is 98,078 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 98,078, the high alchemy is 96,000 and the low is 64,000.

Ahrim The Blighted: ahrimsstaffzi7.png

Ahrim's Staff: Great weapon, what's great about it is it gives a strength bonus so it can also, be used as a melee weapon. The staff makes each spell more powerful and when wearing the full set it lowers the opponents strength level temporarily, proving useful. The staff is 51,900 as medium price on the grand exchange, the trade price is also 51,900, the high alchemy is 51,000 and low is 34,000.

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed the guide and leanred about barrows armour too, I hope if you've got 70 defense that you've picked out the barrows armour you want to get. Remember there is an added bonus to the barrows armour, for karil's you also need 70 range to wear, 70 mage for ahrims, and just 70 defense for all the melee armours, the weapons have different things like that too. Bye!

Notes

*Barrow's armour has different skills needed to wear some.

*The Verac's need 70 attack to weild the weapon as torags need 70 attack and strength, aswell as dharok's need 70 attack and strength, guthan's now like verac's needs 70 attack to weild.

*All of the melee barrows armour need just 70 defense to wear.

*Karil's need 70 defense and 70 range as ahrims need 70 defense and 70 magic to wear.

*The barrows armour has items that make them stronger and work better.

I found a few mistakes that I highlighted in red and corrected. I also found a sentence that made no sense. Glad to be of service.

Introduction

Each of the Barrows sets come with a price, buying and keeping. The Barrows Armour is almost the only armour in runescape that degrades. More on degrading in the next section.

Repair information:

Helmet: Will cost the least to repair.

Plate: Will be second in cost to repair.

Legs: third

Weapon: First

Again the cost will reflect on the level of damage the armour is at.

You can repair the armour in a player owned workshop here are the costs:

With 1 smithing:

helm: 59,700gp

Plate: 89,550gp

legs: 79,600

Weapon: 99,500

With 99 smithing:

helm: 33,000gp

Plate: 45,450gp

Legs: 40,400gp

Weapon: 50,500gp

The price is 50% off when using a smithing skillcape.

Torag the Corrupted is the second-youngest of the Barrows brothers. Torag uses Melee attacks. It has the best defense bonuses out of all the armours but the worst weapon. Many people buy the set without hammers because the hammers do not hit well. The hammers require 70 attack and 70 strength to wield.

Special attack: Corrupted

Special attack being the big reason why hammers are not used, the attack doesn't hit it just takes 20% of the opponents run energy away, not very useful. People usually use the abbysal whip and a rune defender with this set.

Pros: Very good for training and being defensive.

Cons: Very Bad weapon and special attack.

Dharok The Wretched

Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and the lower his health is, the harder he hits (his special). Dharok attacks much slower than the other brothers, slower than a granite maul, but he has the ability to hit up to 108 when he is at low health (possibly under 10 or under 20).

Also, the set has very good defense and attack bonuses, but the weapon is considered by many, "overpriced." The weapon is the most expensive item in the set being a rousing 7m!

Verac's Flail: This is considered to be one of the best barrows weapons, due to the special attack breaking through prayer and hitting like it normally would hit can cause high amounts of damage.

Dharok's Great-Axe: Very slow and very powerful, the dharok's great-axe is nominated for the strongest barrows weapon, it can hit up to 108 if you have under 10 health when you have 99 health in total,but being slower than a granite maul may have it's disadvantages. The Great-axe hits once every 2 and a half turns. Within the time, the great-axe is waiting to hit you may be killed by the opponents weapon.
