Metalcore May Be Dieing! W00t!

Recommended Posts

Yes you heard me. Even a metalcore singer from this band called Killswitch Engage said he belives its gonna have its downfall soon, not only that but several of the bands are trying to call themselves diffrent genres to stick around.

Truely its gonna die, and I'm truely happy. :aware:

Genres are dumb. Just listen to the music you like and don't give a shizzle about what people label it as.

So one guy says metalcore is dying and then you proceed to create this topic, claiming that the downfall of one of the best-selling genres out there is near?

Dumb thread is dumb.

Seriously, maybe people enjoy those types of music?

I don't want any music genre to die, because some people do listen to that type of music despite what you believe.

Ok you say that Metalcore is one of the best selling genres etc. etc.

But the Truth is "Glam Metal" was one of the best selling genres, and guess what! It died.

Those who make a terrible remake of Holy Diver deserve death.

+1, I hope they end up opening up for Dio, and all Dio fans throw rotting vegtables at them and jump up and attack the stage! :aware:

This is where you stop bashing Slipknot, go listen to some of their lyrics, and apologize.

Why? I there some deep meaning to them that hasn't been sung about in a few other thousand songs?

Every one of their songs has a meaning.

Yes, they ripped those from Mushroomhead.

Honestly, I don't really care about genres nor what others think about bands. If you don't like Disturbed, then that's fine. That doesn't mean everyone's forced to dislike Disturbed. And just because you feel like the metal you listen to is superior to Nu Metal or Metalcore doesn't make it so. And this is not coming from someone who enjoys either genre.

If metalcore and nu metal are gone then some other toned down version of metal will emerge. There will always be people who like to be "metal" but also love mtv and fitting in, so this type of music is sadly going to stay.
