Hmm, well it's in a language i can't understand... but it's interesting that you can't change anything. That would probably mean that your speakers aren't connected, or you have a problem with your sound card/drivers.

Then i suggest that the logical course of action would be to uninstall it and then reinstall it.

Well did you install your sound card yourself? If so, do you still have the disc with the driver on it?

If not, what sound card is it? If it is an actual card then you can probably find the drivers on the internet. As for the first point, if you don't still have the disc.

If it's just integrated then it's probably worth spending >£10 on a sound card and installing it yourself.

Ah, it's a laptop, well that complicates matters, i'm afraid i can't assist you in this aspect, other than trying to find out the type of sound card/chipset you have and searching for drivers online.

I'm guessing you overlooked post 7 because you haven't replied to it yet. To elaborate on what Definition was saying, go to Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc to open the Device Manager. Click the + sign next to Sound, video and game controllers and tell us which are listed and which if any have an X icon. You can also provide a screen shot if you prefer.

go to the maker of the laptop's website.

u should see somewhere that says support or downloads...

find driver downloads

search for your model number

scroll down to find the audio driver for the appropriate operating system that you are useing

download...install...restart...and let me know what happens

try downloading an update for your sound driver. Then if, the problem is still now solved, re-install your Windows.

Congrats on your first post, but you replied to something from 7 years ago. I'm actually impressed you dug that deep into the forum.

OPEN YOUR “CONTROL PANEL”…THEN OPEN “HARDWARE AND SOUND”

2. LOOK FOR AND CLICK OPEN “DEVICE MANAGER”

3. SCROLL DOWN TO ” SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLER”

4. RIGHT CLICK “SOUND VIDEO AND GAME OPTION”…THEN AN OPTION WILL COME UP SAYING…”SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES”…CLICK IT AND HEY PRESTO…YOUR SOUNDS AND VIDEO AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING.

Start windows audio service

1) Click on Start and Run

2) Type the following command and press Enter

services.msc

3) Scroll down to Windows Audio in the right-hand column and double-click on it,

4) Make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic and click on the Start button under Service Status.
