Aviansies Tanking Guide For Beginners

Recommended Posts

I've done some spell checking and found these mistakes: (btw its a fantastic guide!)

"People kill them for increasing Armadyl kill count so that they can fight the Armadyl boss. "

"These creatures are non-aggressive towards you if you're wearing an Armadyl item"

"If you don’t know what it is then it’s that necklace around my neck; it’s not a Pendant of Lucian"

"Torag Legs - If you wish to have less ranged defence and more ranged attack than this, it could be replaced with black d hide chaps, but most people pick this for eating less"

"Food - Other food like sharks also work fine but since you don't get into extreme situations at aviansies,"

"If it’s your first time, quickly speak with the dying soldier near the dungeon and use your rope on the hole. GO INSIDE!"

"After you have no pizzas/sharks left and a full inventory of bones use a bones to peaches tab"

"Also if you’re not sure about this, it was proven that it is not as hard as it sounds. Just try a trip."

"This is a tanking guide. There is also short summery of prayer guide and some other tips in Aviansie section of God Wars Dungeon Guide."

if these mistakes have been found or you dont agree with them, im sry but ill search for some more :(

In case you don't agree with them, i find it either sounds way more sophisticated or the grammar really is wrong

I hope i was of some help!

Thank you so much, just answe this question, are u sure u edited everything?
No, I'm not sure, although I will go through it again later to check for errors. :box:

I linked everything for you too. (I also changed some things, mostly fixing spelling)

This guide is meant to help people who want to start tanking at Aviansies. For more information and more advanced tips please go to Aviansie section of God Wars Dungeon Guide.

What are Aviansies?

Aviansies are monsters that can be found in God Wars Dungeon and are Armadyl's followers. People kill them for increasing Armadyl kill count so that they can fight the Armadyl boss. They also kill them for the good income and range/hitpoints experience. Income mostly comes from noted Adamant Bars (4) that they drop. These creatures are non-aggressive towards you if you're wearing an Armadyl item (More on it later).

Getting Ready to Fight

So if you decided that you want to fight these monsters, it's time to get ready!

Don’t forget to complete the Troll Stronghold Quest or you can’t get to the dungeon.

Levels: At least 60 or 70 Range which is highly recommended

60 Strength or 60 Agility – To get past the boulder/crack - Required

70 Defence - Highly recommended

43+ Prayer if using way from Burthorpe - Needed for this way

61 Mage for Trollheim Teleport (Eadgar's Ruse Quest needed) - Recommended and needed for this way.

Equipment

zlsnd2.png

This equipment is recommended. It is suggested that you keep your range attack and defence bonuses around the numbers circled in blue.

Don’t forget climbing boots, you need to climb rocks on your way to the dungeon.

Ring of Wealth/Ring of Life – On your first trip its better to bring a Ring of Life just in case, but a Ring of Wealth will increase your drop of rune items. This might be bad, because those rune drops might replace the adamant bars. Your choice on what ring to pick.

Armadyl Pendant - If you don’t know what it is, then look at the necklace around my neck; it’s not Pendant of Lucian! You will need this if you’re not wearing anything else from Armadyl. If you don't wear one the Aviansies will be aggressive towards you. To get it you have to complete the Temple of Ikov Quest. If you choose a good way you should already have it, if you choose a bad way, go back to the room where you get the staff and kill “Guardians of Armadyl” until they drop one Pendant, this is also what you do if you lost yours and chose the good way.

Ava's Accumulator - You can replace it with a god cape for protection from certain gods followers, but this is recommended because it picks up your bolts.

Saradomin Vambraces - Not needed but highly recommended because sometimes a Saradomin follower may attack you. The slot could be replaced with Black Vambraces and you could wear another Saradomin item like chaps or d’hide. You could also replace these vambraces with Zamorak ones, but you'd also need Sara D'hide top.

Bolts - Broad Bolts work the best; they are cheaper and better than mithril and sometimes better than adamant (Depending on range lvl and luck). You need 55 Slayer, and if you don't, use adamant bolts.

Guthan Helm – Could be replaced with

Torag Helm.

Torag Legs - If you wish to have less ranged defence and more ranged attack, than Torag Legs could be replaced with black d hide chaps. Most people pick this so they can eat less food.

Helm/D Hide/Chaps - This can be replaced with Armadyl armour, which gives you an advantage of giving you the option to wear a different kind of amulet and having a bigger range attack stat. When you pick this kind of equipment, you should check again if you still have Zamorak and Saradomin items equipped. You could also use a holy/unholy book or Zamorak or Saradomin braces, but they give even less range defence.

Zamorak D Hide - This is very expensive for people with little amount of money, but this will give you good stats with protection from Zamorak followers. You could replace it with Saradomin D'Hide, but you will need Zamorak vambraces (Unless you use your own combo).

Summary - You can pick your own equipment but things like accumulator is highly recommended to have in any setup. You need every god's item equipped except Bandos since you won't go near his followers.

Inventory

24euyba.gif

NOTE: If its your first time bring a rope.

Food - Other food like sharks also work fine but since you don't get into extreme situations at aviansies, pineapple pizzas are the best because they heal 22 life in 2 bites for only 500-600gp.

Coins - I always bring couple of them because you will use that spot for coins anyways. If you decide not to take any leave that spot blank or replace it with a small fish like tuna.

Bones to Peaches Tabs - More on them later, but that’s what you need if you don’t want to bank and earn more money faster. I thought that Guthans would work better for healing but trust me bones to peaches is what you need!

High Alching - You will need these if you want to spend the most time without banking. You could replace the lava staff shown in the picture with fire runes or a fire staff.

Mithril Grapple - Not needed, but is recommended if you’re not scared of bigger level aviansies and if you have 70+ range. It is less crowded at those spots which is the point of fighting higher levels.

Getting There

gwdmap2.png

After you move the boulder/climb through the crack your running energy will drain and your stats will slowly be draining. Put protect from melee on and walk fast to the dungeon. If it’s your first time, quickly speak with the dying soldier near the dungeon and use your rope on the hole. GO INSIDE!

Inside the Dungeon

gwdmap1-1.png

(Thanks a lot to nonickname for this map)

Avianses are at the south part of the dungeon. After you walk in, walk to the south. There will be level 68+ aviansies there.

The black rectangle on the map is where you need to grapple pillar if you want to enter the higher level aviansies.

There are level 73+ aviansies in here. There usually aren't a lot of people here either, so there's always space for you. Pick one of the areas (A red cirlce on the map) and run around killing aviasies. It's better to pick just one area rather than running around the whole dungeon.

More on killing them

There is nothing special to know about killing them. The only important thing is never to let yourself have 11 hitpoints or less because 11 is their max hit. They also drop bones. If you lose 20 life (example: your hp is 80, and you have 58 or less live) eat a pizza/shark and replace it with a bone they drop. You will never have to heal more then once per kill. If you heal right away when you loose life and when you have that kind of defence bonus, it will be almost impossible for you to die.

After you have no pizzas/sharks left and full inventory of bones use bones to peaches tab. One tab turns all bones into peaches. You could drop some of your stuff for a second, pick up some bones, and turn them all in peaches, eat the peaches, pick up your stuff and you just got extra life for the same cost.

untitled-5.png

It may sound like peaches is a food for noobs, but one peach gives 8 life which is enough for 1 aviansies kill.

Also notice that I have 4 law runes and 105 air runes. I didn’t have before. They will drop them, and I recommend to pick them up to get a Varrock teleport you will use when you’re done and ready to leave. That way you get faster to Grand Exchange.

Rewards

They have a lot of good ones but here are the once you want:

opwz8j.png - Rune limbs – Sold to Grand Exchange or High Alched for 9600gp; Rare drop

2it1opx.gif - Rune dagger(p+) – High Alched for 4800gp

107w9y9.gif - Adamant bar noted (4) – This is the main source of income, they drop them often and 4 at a time. It’s not rare at all. And it’s noted, letting you spend more time without banking. Price at GE - 2,302gp (December 14, 2008). To check for current price click here.

2agj8et.png - They will occasionally drop 5 swordfish (Not noted); it’s a rare drop. If you get it, replace all the bones with this fish.

untitledss-1.png - Level 3 Clue Scrolls; value is unknown until you solve it. Great way of relaxing from aviansies and maybe earning some cash.

There are other drops like chaos, blood, and water runes, some nice herbs, and some other small/unimportant items. It’s your choice if you want to pick them up but they are not that popular to get at aviansies.

Interesting Facts

One of the best places to train range.

One of the best monsters to earn money at in whole RuneScape.

After dividing amount of money earned by amount of kills it ends up being 3k per aviansie, unless your unlucky.

Also if you’re not sure about this, it was proven that it is not as hard as it sounds. Just try a trip.

You will get really bored, really fast, that is bad in one way and good in another. Bad because you’re bored, and good because you realize that these monsters are easy.

This is a tanking guide. There is also short summery of prayer guide and some other tips in Aviansie section of God Wars Dungeon Guide.

People make 400k a trip by using prayer, after that they have to bank because of the prayer potions being used up. Thats is a big disadvantage, but still good if you can't tank.

Just a reminder, you can't melee them and mage is too expensive, so range is the best choice.

Good Luck on Aviansie Hunting!

If you chose a good way, you should already have it. If you chose a bad way, go back to the room where you got the staff and kill Guardians of Armadyl until they drop a Pendant. This is also what you do if you lost yours.

Bolts - Broad Bolts work the best; they are cheaper and better than mithril and sometimes better than adamant (Depending on range lvl and luck). You need 55 Slayer, and if you don't, use adamant bolts.
I'm kind of confused because I don't think there is such a thing as broad bolts, but there is such a thing as broad arrows. Is that what you mean?

Guthan Helm – Could be replaced with Torag Helm.
Put "a" before "Torag Helm".

Helm/D Hide/Chaps - This can be replaced with Armadyl armour, which gives you an advantage of giving you the option to wear a different kind of amulet and having a bigger range attack stat.
of ---> by (...gives you an advantage by giving you the...)

Summary - You can pick your own equipment but things like accumulator is highly recommended to have in any setup. You need every god's item equipped except Bandos since you won't go near his followers.
Change to:

You can pick your own equipment, although items such as Ava's Accumulator are highly recommended. You need an item from every god except Bandos since you won't be going near his followers.

NOTE: If its your first time bring a rope.
Put this in bold words.

If you decide not to take any leave that spot blank or replace it with a small fish like tuna.
Put a comma after "any".

It may sound like peaches is a food for noobs, but one peach gives 8 life which is enough for 1 aviansies kill.

Whatever I bolded and underlined needs to be changed to "hitpoints".

It's looking much better. Hopefully after these changes it will be ready to go.

Thanks again and i included all of yuor changed. By broad bolts i ment "Broad-tipped bolts", I also took out the last "I" in the guide (At least i think it was the last one). That made me change one sentence so please proofread it:

Coins - It's always good to bring couple of coins, because you will use that spot for money anyways.

Ahh, that makes much more sense. :(

Put "a" in front of "couple".

I'll proofread one more time, and then hopefully your guide will be completely ready.

My question:Should i Include "Original Guide by:" in my guide if I do not really rewrite but just wnat to make a big addition?
You'd have to talk to Sal about that. I don't know the answer.

These creatures are non-aggressive towards you if you're wearing an Armadyl item (More on it later).
it ---> that (In parenthesis)

Guthan Helm – Could be replaced with aTorag Helm.
You need a space between "a" and "Torag".

If you lose 20 hitpoints (example: your hitpoints is 80, and you have 58 or less) eat a pizza/shark and replace it with a bone they drop.
Capitalize "example".

It may sound like peaches is a food for noobs, but one peach gives 8 life which is enough for 1 aviansies kill.
Still need to change that "life" to "hitpoints".

Also notice that I have 4 law runes and 105 air runes. I didn’t have before. They will drop them, and I recommend to pick them up to get a Varrock teleport you will use when you’re done and ready to leave. That way you get faster to Grand Exchange.

They have a lot of good ones but here are the once you want:
once ---> ones

It looks like this guide will be complete once you fix the above. Excellent job and good luck on getting it accepted! (Although I'm sure it will be :()

the recommended armour you show is a little to heavy on the defence and not with enough of a attack bonus. so you might want to change it to:

saradomin chaps

and barrows gloves

It may sound like peaches is a food for noobs

keep it a proper guide, and if you insist on saying "noob" then at least spell it right (newb)

This will get you to the Grand Example more quickly.

:(

One of the best places to train range.

xp wise? thats not true at all. maybe change it to: one of the best places to combine range xp and cash

One of the best monsters to earn money at in whole RuneScape.

again, not true at all

After dividing amount of money earned by amount of kills it ends up being 3k per aviansie, unless your unlucky.

im almost sure that was chaged?

hope i helped

Actually the only thing you helped on is "Grand Example" Im sure that everything else is correct a spacielly this:

As for armour remember its beginers guide and for beginers this is the best suggested, if yuuor read the guide you may notice that i point out soem morre options and like you said, sara chaps and some other gloves, thats what i use nwo myself, but again might not work as well for beginers.

EDIT: Just editing to point out once more, it is one of the best places except that abyssal demons might be better, this was proven by a number of my friends and much more expirienced runescapers, may you give examples of moneters to prove your point and did you really go aviansies yourself or your taking it from another source?

EDIT2: Don't worry i added you to credits because that Grand Exchange thing is very importent, so dont argue ^^ if you really have nothing to prove your point with

Final Checked it, i did kind of fast but i didnt find any spelling mistakes,

I would give it the 99.9999999 % ready (a guide is never perfectioned  )

Dont want to be bad or something but change climbing boots to Climbing Boots below the equipment image.

Might be good for interesting Facts Section,

Range XP Varies from 20k/h to 45k/h depending on your Ranging level and the amount of people in the world.

One more thing, you could remind people to double check their inventory/equipment, believe me, many people forget something and just get lazy/leave.

Try comparing Aviansies with cannoning daggonaths for example.

Aviansies are great cash, although boss hunting at higher levels is much more profitable.

It's isn't the best xp, and also not the best cash, but it's the best of those two worlds combined.

And also, remove the "noob"-part stated earlier.

Yea i agree with noob part, and this has nothign to do with boss fights or anything like that, so what the point of including dragonoth or something else? Also i said one of the best range and one of the best cash so dotn get the wrong idea.

I asked Light to see if I could modify his map, and he let me do it with his permission, so here's the new map:

The difference was that I modified the font, looks much better. :box:

I finished my guide and I'm waiting. Sal has a real life, so he doesn't go on the forums everyday and check the guides. He has college, works, his life, and commitments, etc.

EDIT: Your title:

Aviansies Tanking Guide For Begginers

Begginer is spelled wrong, it should be "Beginners". Just pointing out. :box:

I noticed that you said the Ring of Wealth would affect the adamant bar drops. This is not true.

When you get a rare drop, the Ring of Wealth will affect what rare drop you get, like whether it's worth more or not etc. Because Adamant Bars are common drops, it won't affect them at all.

I know that and i mantioned it in the guide, it affects the amount of rune items drops which is good because you can alch them but bad because it might replace the adaman bars you get, you may see it in the text if you read the whole thing

EDIT 2: Right here:

Ring of Wealth/Ring of Life – On your first trip it's better to bring a Ring of Life just in case, but a Ring of Wealth will increase your drop of rune items. This might be bad, because those rune drops might replace the adamant bars. Your choice on what ring to pick.

Even when i do not explain the way you do i still explain the effect.

Here are some corrections...

Armadyl Pendant - If you don’t know what it is, then look at the necklace around my neck; it’s not a Pendant of Lucian! You will need this if you’re not wearing anything else from Armadyl. If you don't wear one the Aviansies will be aggressive towards you. To get it you have to complete the Temple of Ikov Quest. If you chose a good way, you should already have it. If you chose a bad way, go back to the room where you got the staff and kill Guardians of Armadyl until they drop a Pendant. This is also what you do if you lost yours.

Lucian = Lucien

Food - Other food like sharks also work fine but since you don't get into extreme situations at aviansies, pineapple pizzas are the best because they heal 22 life in 2 bites for only 500-600gp.

2 = two

There are level 73+ aviansies in here. There usually aren't a lot of people here either, so there's always space for you. Pick one of the areas (A red cirlce on the map) and run around killing aviasies. It's better to pick just one area rather than running around the whole dungeon.

cirlce = circle

After you have no pizzas/sharks left and full inventory of bones use bones to peaches tab. One tab turns all bones into peaches. You could drop some of your stuff for a second, pick up some bones, and turn them all in peaches, eat the peaches, pick up your stuff and you just got extra hitpoints for the same cost.

After would look better if it was change to When.

It may sound like peaches are not good, but one peach gives 8 hitpoints which is enough for 1 aviansies kill.

1 = one

- Adamant bar noted (4) – This is the main source of income, they drop them often and 4 at a time. It’s not rare at all. And it’s noted, letting you spend more time without banking.

4 = four

- They will occasionally drop 5 swordfish (Not noted); it’s a rare drop. If you get it, replace all the bones with this fish.

5 = five
