Roy, if I could hug you right now, I would.

Thanks for your help Roy, and now this GUIDE IS 100% DONE!

If anyone would like to spellcheck the guide one last time, that is welcome, but other than that:

Sal, the guide is 100%, please check!

Thank you to everyone that helped, and I hope to see this on the site soon!

Mithril Dragons are level 304, not 303.

Bronze, Iron, Steel and Mithril dragons, ranging from levels 131, 189, 246 and 303 respectively.

Mithril Dragons:

80+ Attack, Strength and Hitpoints - They are level 303, so those are just the bare minimum to be able to do damage.

80+ Defense - If you are melee'ing them, you won't get far without this and protect from melee.

These beasts ranging from level 131 to 303 are extremely powerful,

You're right, my bad.

Fixed, thanks Poke :eyebrows:

EDIT, Can anyone get me a map of how to get to the whirlpool, and how to get to the Mithril Dragons... Maps are not my forté.

Also, a picture of where to range them would greatly help!

Metal dragons are a great, but risky source of income. They are fun and have great drops, and require a good deal of preparation and skill to fight.

If that is your conclusion you really need to take a serious look at your inventories... If the objective is to go for drops you would need some free spaces in your invent to take away the drops, or? If the objective is to kill as many as possible you might want to include some high-alcs... no use in discarding those items that can be alched.

It amazes me every time someone writes a creature hunting guide: Always fill your inventory with stuff without regard for what you need: space to store those drops you are after.

If you are killing the monster just to get the drop it will probably take a while.

You will go through a couple of prayer potions, or some food first.

I also said that you can bring more of less of the potions/items, depending on how long you want to be there.

And if you do get a good drop all you do? Drop a piece of food, as you will probably tele out after that anyways.

For the inventory question, I prefer to bring a BoB pouch with me and summon it when my inventory is full. Alternatively you can have a Bob and fill it with 3 more pouches to renew timers. There is a small obelisk right outside of Brimhaven metal dragon cave (where the black demons are). Easy extra 12-24 inventory spaces for loot.

Is it possible to dragon halberd the metal dragons if using antifire potions and standing 2 squares away?

In the Melee section of the Mithril Dragon Hunting part...

Weapon: Leaf Bladed Sword/Whip

I'm not an avid dragon slayer, so yeah don't know a lot about Mithril Dragons, maybe it's some deep dark secret for Slayer or Dragon Killing, call me a noob for asking, but why would you use a leaf-bladed sword?

If it's for stab bonus... I don't know I guess there are a lot of better weapons.

Enlighten me please :wizard:

leaf bladed sword has the highest 1-handed stab attack bonus there is, with zamorakian spear being the highest 2h stab attack, if Im not mistaken.

good to have you back, sr h :wizard:

Shouldn't you pray protect from range when killing Mithril Dragons?

Since, you have very good magic defense on, and that's all you need to worry about, and it will probably splash or hit a low number.

And, I've heard that the Mithril Dragon near the ladder likes to sneak melee you when you go up it, so, I would suggest praying melee when you go up that ladder.

@ theking, yes, but you will take massive amounts of damage, as the potion only cuts the damage in half.

Magic:

60+ Magic - Increases damage done to dragons. You should use the best spell you can.

60+ Defense - Just in case you get too close to them, a high defense and some armor will decrease damage

Anti-Dragon shield - Requires dragon slayer to be started. You will get slaughtered if you don't bring one.

Spelling mistake

This guide is very nicely done, Vincent - great work! It's very detailed and easy to follow, and should be a huge help to anyone looking for a guide on slaying these dangerous creatures. This will make an excellent replacement for our current guide, which definitely looks like it could use a facelift. Well done!
