100% -- Fishing Help Guide (rewrite) -- Ready For Sal!

Recommended Posts

Guide Begins under the line:

If you are going to take a picture, please do it in Standard Detail, that way the guide will look neater than if the images are both HD and SD.

Thanks, Darth :eyebrows:

Note to Sal: All the Images in this Guide have been designed to fit in the "light-gray" area of the webpage, so no Image(s) should have to be resized. :ice:

Note (2): I am unable to Center any thing in this guide. One because If I do, I'll stuff up the code. 2 being the Guidelines for writing Guides. I can easily add more content, it just happens when centering images. So obviously, the Title and Thanks are centered, along with the quick links and any images. Thanks, Darth ;)

Fishing can be a life-saving skill to raise. Why? Fishing allows you to fish all sorts of fish ranging from measly Shrimp to powerful Shark!

You're able to cook the fish you earn with the Cooking skill and use the cooked fish to recover your Hitpoints. You'll need this food to help heal Hitpoints while fighting, training Agility and to help you while Thieving when you are caught red-handed. Fishing is also a good source of money.

Level 1-20

So you've decided to take up Fishing, eh? Well there are 3 towns where you can begin Fishing in: Lumbridge, Draynor Village and Al-Kharid. The best would be Draynor Village due to the relative closeness of its bank. First off, you'll need some supplies to get your journey started. You can get a Small fishing net and a Crayfish cage simply by talking to the Fishing Tutor (Follow the red line on the map to find him) or by purchasing them at the fishing store in Port Sarim.

2cniezo.png

Head over to the Fishing tutor (Follow the red line). If you haven't already, talk to the Fishing Tutor and ask about the Basics of Fishing. He'll hand you over a Small Fishing Net and a Crayfish cage. The Map above shows where you can fish in Lumbridge and with which item. Crayfish are faster than Shrimps however, Crayfish will only heal 1 Hitpoint compared to the Shrimps healing amount of 3. If you want to bank your Fish, there is a bank on the Third level of the Lumbridge Castle. However, you're better off just heading North to the Cooking Tutor, cooking your fish on his range (Marked by a 2cqya7q.png icon) and then dropping them.

It is up to you to decide however, it is recommended to cook the fish you get at this level as they will make very little profit.

Off to Draynor now. Draynor is the best place for Fishing at this level. Getting to Draynor is easy, just walk West from Lumbridge.

fd6bgj.png

As you can see, the Bank is extremely close to the Fishing spot. If you are level 14 or lower, be aware of the Level 7 Dark Wizards that wander around the Fishing Spots. They aren't usually a problem as you are protected by the Willow trees, however they can get around and still be a problem. Don't forget there are other people Woodcutting and Fishing here with you, so every so often another player may kill a Dark Wizard for fun.

While Draynor does not have Crayfish spots, there are still the good ol' shrimp spots. Once you have a full inventory, you should bank your Shrimp and cook them later.

Last stop, Al-Kharid. Al-Kharid can be found East of Lumbridge, just over the River Lum bridge. If you have not completed the Prince Ali Rescue Quest, you will need to pay 10gp to enter, or you will have to follow the fence-line north until you find a gap in the wall. Walking through that gap can save you 10gp, but it is better off to just pay the toll. If you've completed the Prince Ali Rescue quest, you are able to enter for free.

35ivepf.png

2uf7t53.png

You can fish Shrimp here but not Crayfish. Most players don't fish here due to the vicious level 14 Scorpion. Once again, bank your fish once you have a full inventory here. Because there is usually no other players here, You will have to run occasionally away from Scorpion if it attacks you (If you are Level 28 or lower). If you feel up to the challenge, feel free to kill it.

Once you get level 5 Fishing, get a Fishing Rod and some Bait (From the Port-Sarim Fishing store, another player or the Grand Exchange). You'll be able to fish sardines. You should just bank these as they're better for cooking than for money. To fish sardines, Select "Bait" instead of "Net. You'll also get Herring at level 10 Fishing when using bait. Herring and sardines can be fished at any of the above locations. Once again, Draynor is the best place to fish at this level due to the closeness of the bank.

Level 20-40

trout.gifOnce you get 20 Fishing, you are able to fish Trout. Trout are popular due to their fast experience in Free-to-Play. First off, you are going to need a Fly-Fishing Rod and some feathers. These should be bought. from the Port-Sarim Fishing Store, from another Player or from the Grand Exchange. Once you get your materials, head over back to Lumbridge.

28a8845.png

Head over to the East side of the River Lum to where the "Rod" icon is. Once you get there: Fish! Once you get a full inventory, sell your Fish to the General Store directly opposite the river (Marked by a 154edtz.png icon). Once you've sold the fish, go back and repeat.

If you want to keep the fish, consider using Law Runes to teleport yourself to Lumbridge Castle (31 Magic required), then bank your fish, teleport again and then go back to your fishing spot This is not recommended as you'll make less money, or even lose money due to the cost of Law Runes.

If you want a change in Scenery or want a quicker way to get rid of your Fish, consider fishing at Edgeville. It is usually packed with people and there are usually people willing to take your fish (although for free) via Trade. If you want to keep your fish, follow the Red line to the bank.

9h40pc.png

salmon.gif You will begin to catch Salmon. If you want to, you can fish Tuna with a Harpoon (Purchase from the Grand Exchange, Port Sarim Fishing Store or another player) and head over to Port Sarim (Read below to find out how to fish Tuna).This is slightly more valuable than Trout. Fly-fishing Trout and Salmon is the fastest way to get 99 Fishing in Free-to-Play.

Level 40-50

lobby.gifAlright, you're beginning to get pretty good at Fishing now. You now have the access to one of the best Money-making methods in Free-to-Play. Grab a Lobster Cage from the Port Sarim Fishing Store, Grand Exchange or another player and 60gp then head to Port-Sarim. You only need 30gp if you have access to an Explorer's ring 3 or choose to teleport to Falador and bank there (More details below).

mj356q.png

Head over to the Red Circle and pay 30Gp to one of the three Customs Officers and you'll be on a boat to Musa Point. Once you're there, head over to the Fishing spot (Indicated by the Lobster Cage and harpoon).

1zqvoew.png

Once there, you can fish Lobsters and Tuna (with a Harpoon). Lobsters sell for around 300-400gp each. You'd be better off to bank your fish. There are 2 ways to do this. The first way is to board the boat again, walk from Port Sarim to Draynor and bank your fish. Then head back to Musa Point again.

The Second way (Recommended) requires you have to have completely finished the Lumbridge/Draynor Diary (Which is also Free-to-Play so don't worry). Using the Explorer's Ring 3, you are able to teleport to a Cabbage Patch in between Draynor and Port Sarim (Indicated by the Explorer's Ring icon on the map). The amount of times you can use this teleport is unlimited.

Fill up your inventory with Fish and then use the Ring to teleport to the Cabbage Patch. Run down to Draynor and bank. Teleport again and run to Port Sarim, Pay 30gp and when your inventory is full, repeat again.

fcrams.png

There is one more way to get your Lobsters into your bank however, it requires 37 Magic. All you need to do is get an inventory full of Lobsters then teleport to Falador with your teleport runes, run to the east bank and bank your lobsters. Then run back to Port Sarim, board the boat and repeat

2mdf681.png

If you have access to the above two methods, you will only need to bring 30gp each trip to cover the cost of the trip.

Level 50-99

Congratulations! You can fish every-single fish in the Free-to-Play game! You are now able to fish Swordfish which can sell from 500-600gp. However they are caught along with Tuna, so you'll get more Tuna than Swordfish. These can be fished right next to the Lobster Fishing spots by selecting "Harpoon" instead of "Cage".

If you are serious about 99, you should consider getting Members. However if you are unable to get Membership, you still can get 99 Fishing in Free-to-Play, however it will be slower. The best way to get 99 is to fish Trout and Salmon (as said above). It is your choice if you want to drop them or bank them, but banking them will make you quite a bit of money in the long run.

Members

Level 1-20

For the first 20 levels, Fishing in Members is very similar to the first 20 levels in Free-to-Play. However, you have access to another location: Catherby.

Once you get level 5 Fishing, get a Fishing Rod and some Bait (From the Port-Sarim or Catherby Fishing store, another player or the Grand Exchange). You'll be able to fish sardines. You should just bank these as they're better for cooking than for money, but if you are desperate for money, you can sell it to the Catherby Fishing store. To fish sardines, Select "Bait" instead of "Net. You'll also get Herring at level 10 Fishing when using bait. Herring and sardines can be fished at Lumbridge, Draynor, Al-Kharid and Catherby. Once again, Catherby is the best place to fish at this level due to the closeness of the bank.

1zekyu9.png

Catherby is the best place in Runescape for fishing (Unless you are fishing for Trout or Salmon) until Level 68. It is extremely close to a bank, and there is a Fishing Store right by the Fishing spots. At this level, you can keep the fish if you want, or you can sell to the Fishing Store (No player will buy low-leveled fish like Shrimp for example). If you are using a Summoning familiar to help you fish, there is a Summoning obelisk at the North-East end of the beach.

Level 16-30

Alright, so you've fished Shrimp for a bit and you're level 16. Now what? Well, head over to the Fishing Store and buy yourself a Big Fishing Net (Make sure in the title it says "Big"!). Still Fishing in Catherby, Begin to fish with your big net. You'll obtain trash like boots, gloves and seaweed; however you may occasionally come across an Oyster or a Casket with Treasure inside! Seaweed can be used in Crafting (along with Molten Glass) to make items such as Vials. So if you are an avid Crafter, keep them.

Level 30-40

Once you get to level 30, You can stay at Catherby and keeping fishing there until you can fish Tuna (Level 35), or you can go to Lumbridge, Edgeville or Shilo Village (Requires the Shilo Village quest to enter) and Fly-Fish. Shilo Village gives you the best Fishing experience in the game. To fly-fish, you'll need a Fly-Fishing Rod and some Feathers (Obtainable from other Players, the Grand Exchange or from the Port Sarim, Catherby or Shilo Village Fishing Stores).

28a8845.png

Head over to the East side of the River Lum to where the "Rod" icon is. Once you get there: Fish! Once you get a full inventory, sell your Fish to the General Store directly opposite the river (Marked by a 154edtz.png icon). Once you've sold the fish, go back and repeat.

If you want to keep the fish, consider using Law Runes to teleport yourself to Lumbridge Castle (31 Magic required), then bank your fish, teleport again

and then go back to your fishing spot. This is not recommended as you'll make less money, or even lose money due to the cost of Law Runes, it is a different story if you craft your runes though. If you craft your runes, you won't be losing any money (unless you bought the Essence used to make the Runes, then you'll lose a little bit).

If you want a change in scenery or want a quicker way to get rid of your Fish, consider fishing at Edgeville. It is usually packed with people and there can sometimes be people willing to take your fish (Although for Free) via Trade, but this is less likely in members worlds. If you want to keep your fish, follow the Red line to the bank.

9h40pc.png

Here comes one of the best ways to get experience in the game: Shilo Village.

30w2wpd.png

The Fishing spots are right next to a bank meaning quick and easy banking, as well as quick experience. If you stay here to 99, you can make quite a bit of money. If you are using a Summoning familiar to help you fish, there is a Summoning obelisk to the west of the River.

There is one last place where you can Fly-Fish and it is west of the Fishing Guild. This method is nick-named "Rasolo Fishing" and it requires you to Fish a full inventory, then walk north to a wandering merchant called Rasolo, and sell him the fish. You make poor money, but it is around the same amount of experience of Shilo, but slightly faster. Therefore you're better off fishing at Shilo, but you can fish here if you wish to be alone. However one or two other players may occasionally be here.

29lz408.png

Level 40-62

lobby.gifYou can continue to Fly-Fish if you wish. You are now able to catch Lobsters. These are quite good for money-making at this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch. To catch a Lobster, simply purchase a Lobster pot from the Catherby Fishing store. It is not recommended to fish at Musa Point (Karamja) or north of Mobilising Armies as both locations are far from a bank.

1zekyu9.png

leapingtrout.gifAt level 48 (and 15 Agility and Strength), you are able to start using Barbarian Training to help catch your fish. To begin Barbarian Training, head over to Baxtorian Falls and talk to Otto and he shall tell you about Barbarian Training. If you choose this method, you will gain Agility and Strength experience along with every catch. The downside is that you need to drop the offcuts you get from using a Knife with the fish you catch, which can take time. You can use the Roe or Caviar you get from the Fish you cut to use as bait, replacing feathers and bait at the Baxtorian falls.

map1.png

swordie.gifAt level 50, you'll be able to fish Swordfish with a harpoon, but you'll catch them along with Tuna, so you're better off with Lobsters.

rawtuna8bx.gifAt level 55 (Along with 35 Strength), If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Tuna with your bare hands.

r7t54w.png At level 58 (and 30 Agility and Strength), you'll be able to catch Leaping Salmon with Barbarian Fishing at Baxtorian Falls.

Level 62-76

1q2xyt.pngIf you can, it is highly recommended to complete the Swan Song quest at the Piscatoris Fishing Colony. Doing so will allow you to fish Monkfish. Fast experience and good cash. They usually sell for around 300-450gp. To fish Monkfish, you'll need a Small Fishing Net, purchasable from the Piscatoris General Store for 50gp.

o5q87b.png

leapingsturgeon.png At level 70 (and 45 Agility and Strength), you'll be able to catch Leaping Sturgeon through Barbarian Training at the Baxtorian Falls.

swordie.gif At level 70 (Along with 50 Strength), If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Swordfish with your bare hands.

Level 62-99

If you are able to fish Monkfish (see above), you should consider fishing them to 99 if you want to get 99. They're good experience and good money.

To reach 99 from 62 by fishing Monkfish will require you to fish a whopping 105,839 monkfish, but in the end you'll be quite rich making around 40 Million Gp usually.

Level 68 (Guild)

Once you reach level 68 Fishing, you now have access to the world-famous Fishing Guild! If you are fishing Lobsters or Swordfish, it is highly recommended to fish here because the bank is extremely close to the Fishing spots. The Fishing Guild is located North of Ardougne, West of Seer's Village and the Ranging Guild. You can enter the Fishing Guild at level 63 with an admiral pie, or 65 with a fishing potion.

wt6ag6.png

Level 76-99

shark.gifCongratulations! You can now fish Sharks! Sharks usually sell for around 1k and can be an excellent money-making method. You can fish Sharks at Catherby, Jatizso, Burgh de Rott, Just north of Mobilising Armies or the Fishing Guild. Out of all of them, The Fishing Guild is the best place as it is closer to the bank than the other locations. Sharks can be caught on a Net/Harpoon Fishing spot, and they are not caught with Swordfish or Tuna.

1zekyu9.png

Shark Fishing spots can be found throughout Catherby Beach.

Jatizso is a good place if you wish to be alone. However, There may occasionally be one or two other players here.

20r906h.png

Another location where you can fish Sharks is in Burgh de Rott. It is not as close to the bank as some of the other locations however, it is isolated. There, of course, may be the odd one or two other players there.

24eoqa1.png

The last location you can fish Sharks at is North of Mobilising Armies. To use this method efficiently, you need to have a Ring of Dueling with you. It isn't recommended to fish here as there is aggressive ogresses and wolves close by and there is usually just one shark fishing spot. First off, head over to Mobilising Armies (Read the guide to find out more) and head north to the Fishing spots. Fish your sharks then use the Ring of Dueling to teleport to Mobilising Armies and bank your fish and repeat. This location is probably the least recommended of the ones mentioned in the guide due to the proximity of the bank and the 20-30 second run from the bank to the spots.

i6y1bc.png

It is not recommended to fish Sharks to 99 as it will take an extremely long time, but you'll make a whopping 100+ million Gp. This may sound good, but it will take an extremely long time.

At Fishing level 96, you'll be able to catch Sharks with your hands, first you need to be taught in the ways of the Barbarian and have 76 Strength.

The three most popular ways of getting to 99 are Fly-Fishing at Shilo, Fishing Monkfish and Barbarian Fish. Here is a table to help you decide which method to choose: (Note to Sal: Make them tables :) )

Amount of Cash - Method to use

Very-Little to No Money - Barbarian Fishing

Alright Money - Rasolo Fishing

Good Money - Fly-Fishing at Shilo Village

Excellent Money - Fishing Monkfish.

If that isn't enough, Consider this: With Barbarian Fishing, you'll need to drop your offcuts every inventory. With Shilo Village and Monkfish you can easily bank your fish, but Monkfish will give more money for slightly lower experience. If you want to make lots of money and don't mind getting slightly lower experience, Monkfish would definitely be the best. If you want moderately fast experience and a good amount of money by 99, choose Shilo. If you just want to get 99 and don't really care about cash, choose Barbarian Fishing.

The Big 99

1z4ahvo.png(Note to Sal: When you format this paragraph, wrap the text around the image to the left. Like the Smithing Cape at the bottom of this guide, Thanks.) Congratulations on becoming one of the best Fishers in the whole of Runescape! You are now entitled to a Cape of Achievement for the low-low price of 99,000gp! To purchase this cape, head over to the Fishing Guild, North of Ardounge, West of Seer's Village and the Ranging Guild.

e0jr6r.png

Whenever you wear this cape, everyone around you will know that you are one of the best Fishers in the game. Not only that, but every time you put on the cape (or "Operate" it via the Equipment screen when you have equipped it), you'll have 100/99 Fishing for a minute or so. This may help you catch a Shark or two quicker.

emoteskillcape.gif(Note to Sal: Do the same for the icon to the left as you did for the Master fisher above) But that's not all, you'll also have access to a spectacular emote! (To use the Fishing emote, you'll need to have your Fishing cape equipped). To access the emote, go to the Emote panel and select the icon that looks like a Ranger holding a longbow to the left.

For those who want to see the emote before you have 99 Fishing...

6nxnro.gif

20tf5ow.png

If your skillcape is trimmed (It will become trimmed once you receive 99 in two or more skills), then you'll also have a +4 Prayer bonus. This does not apply to untrimmed capes.

Additional Notes

You can find out how many fish you need to advance to the next level (or what level you choose) by going to Sal's Fishing Calculator.

Some of the quickest ways to get Fishing experience can be from quests. Here is a list of the amount of experience you can get from certain quests:

There are also quests which let you choose the reward.

  • Legends Quest - 7,650 exp to four skills of your choice.
  • One Small Favour - Two Antique Lamps that give 10,000 exp to two skills of your choice, although they must be at least level 30.
  • A Tail of Two Cats - Two Antique Lamps that give 2,500 exp to any 2 skills of your choice that are level 30 or higher.
  • Fairy Tale Part 2: Cure a Queen - An Antique Lamp which gives 2,500 exp to any skill above 30.
  • Darkness of Hallowvale - A Tomb of Experience which gives 2,000 exp to any skill of your choice, per chapter in the book.
    The Great Brain Robbery - gives 5000 exp in a skill of your choice.
  • While Guthix Sleeps - 100,000 experience in four skills of your choice over level 65. All 400,000 experience can be used on the same skill and you can wait until later to obtain the experience if you wish to get a certain stat to level 65 that is too low.

genielamp.gif When you receive a Random event, you will have the chance to accept a Genie Lamp or a Book of Knowledge as a reward. If you choose one of those options and you wish to use Fishing, You will get (Your Fishing Level)x10 for the Genie Lamp and (Your Fishing Level)x15 for the Book. For example I have level 55 Fishing and I choose the Genie lamp, I'll receive 550 experience and if I choose the book, I'll be given 825 experience.

properlamp.png

There is one notable random event where an evil cat kidnaps you and you'll be trapped on the island until you finish what he says. Don't worry, it shouldn't take longer than a minute. When he falls asleep, you will receive a Random Event gift, which you can use the lamp to give you Fishing experience (See above to find out how much experience you receive).

242evbc.png

bartailharpoon.gif There is a special harpoon that players can wield and use. The first one is known as a Barb-tail harpoon that can be equipped by members. If you can, it is highly recommended to use one as it will free up a space for another fish. These can be obtained via Hunter, The Grand Exchange or trading with another player.

volitclayharpoo.gif There are two more special harpoon's that are called the Volatile Clay Harpoon and the Sacred Clay Harpoon. They can be obtained via the Stealing Creation minigame. The Volatile harpoon gives an extra 120% more experience per fish and the Sacred Clay harpoon gives double the experience you receive from the fish.

swordfishgloves.gifsharkgloves.gif There are special gloves known as "Shark Gloves" or "Swordfish Gloves" that you can use from the Fist of Guthix minigame. They give 100 experience extra when fishing Swordfish or Shark depending on the type of glove however, they glove crumbles to dust after 1000 catches. Swordfish gloves require 65 Fishing to use them and Shark gloves require 90 Fishing to use them.

inferiorlocator.pngpoorlocator.pnggoodlocator.pngsuperiorlocator.png To get to your Fishing spots quicker, consider purchasing a locator from Mobilising Armies. These can teleport you to all sorts of resources for various skills. The higher rank you are in Mobilising Armies, the better your locator will be. Try not to be wasteful as they only have 50 charges!

seaturtle.gifmanta.gif There is a special minigame just for Fishing. Known as The Fishing Trawler, It can be a tough minigame, where you are on a sinking boat and you need to help keep it afloat. It is the only way to catch Turtles and Manta-Rays.

ibispouch.giflobbypouch.gif You can use certain Summoning familiars such as the Ibis or the Granite Lobster to invisibly boost your Fishing level by a certain amount of levels, some can even collect fish for you. Read the Summoning Guide for more details. The "invisible" boost will not allow you to catch fish that you would not be able to fish without the boost. So if you have 74 Fishing and have an invisible boost of +2, you will not be able to fish sharks.

090706092402.png While fishing, you may come across a "Big Bass", a "Big Swordfish" and/or a "Big Shark". These can be put on your wall in your house as a trophy, but they first need to be stuffed in Canifis.

Another case of the above statements. Too tired to criticize the guide anymore as of now. Off to bed. :eyebrows:

The best would be Draynor Village due to the relative closeness of its bank. First off, you'll need some supplies to get your journey started. You can get a Small net and a Crayfish cage simply by talking to the Fishing Tutor (South of Lumbridge) or by purchasing them at the fishing store in Port Sarim.

Another case of the above statements. Too tired to criticize the guide anymore as of now. Off to bed. :wizard:

You can fish Shrimp here but not Crayfish. Most players don't fish here due to the vicious level 14 Scorpion. Once again, bank your fish once you have a full inventory here. Because there is usually no other players here, You will have to run occasionally away from Scorpion if it attacks you (If you are Level 28 or lower). If you feel up to the challenge, feel free to kill it.

Thanks for the image :ice:

Its slightly faster [shilo] because you don't need to keep dropping the fish. If there was no dropping of the fish, Barb. Fishing would definitely be the fastest.

There're other possible fishing spots, the ones South of Baxtorian Falls. There you can just lure and sell the fish you catch to a guy wandering around that area not far away that has a store.

Alright, so you've fished Shrimp for abit and you're level 16. Now what? Well, head over to the Fishing Store and buy yourself a Big Fishing Net (Make sure in the title it says "Big"!). Still Fishing in Catherby, Begin to fish with your big net. You'll obtain trash like Boots, Gloves and Seaweed, however you may occasionally come across an Oyster or a Casket with Treasure inside! Seaweed can be used in Crafting (along with Molten Glass) to make items such as Vials. So if you are an avid Crafter, keep them.

abit -> a bit

lobby.gifYou can continue to Fly-Fish if you wish. You are now able to catch Lobsters. There are quite a good money-maker for this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch. To catch a Lobster, simply purchase a Lobster pot from the Catherby Fishing store. It is not recommended to fish at Musa Point (Karajma) as it is far from a bank.

Karajma -> Karamja

leapingsturgeon.png At level 70 (and 45 Agility and Strength), you'll be able to catch Leaping Sturgeon through Barbarian Training at the Baxtorian Falls. With every catch you'll also receive 45 Strength expierence and

expierence -> experience

shark.gifCongratulations! You can now fish Sharks! Sharks usually sell for around 1k and can be an excellant money-making method. You can fish Sharks at Catherby, Jatizso or the Fishing Guild. Out of all of them, The Fishing Guild is the best place as it is closer to the bank than the other locations. Sharks can be caught on a Net/Harpoon Fishing spot, and they are not caught with Swordfish or Tuna.

excellant -> excellent

If that isn't enough, Consider this: With Barbarian Fishing, you'll need to drop your offcuts every inventory. With Shilo Village and Monkfish you can easily bank your fish, but Monkfish will give more money for slightly lower experience. If you want to make lots of money and don't mind getting slightly lower expierence, Monkfish would definitely be the best. If you want moderately fast experience and a good amount of money by 99, choose Shilo. If you just want to get 99 and don't really care about cash, choose Barbarian Fishing.

expierence -> experience

090706092402.png While fishing, you may come across a "Big Bass", a "Big Swordfish" and or a "Big Shark". These can be put on your wall in your house as a trouphy, but they first need to be stuffed in Canifis.

trouphy -> trophy

There's also some weird bbcode at the top (spaces being bolded and underlined, text having two different size tags, ...)

Alright, you beginning to get pretty good at Fishing now. You now have the access to one of the best Money-making methods in Free-to-Play. Grab a Lobster Cage from the Port Sarim Fishing Store, Grand Exchange or another player and 300gp then head to Port-Sarim.

Fishing can be a life-saving skill to raise. Why? Fishing allows you to fish all sorts of fish from measly Shrimp to powerful Shark!

You're able to cook the fish you earn with the Cooking skill and use the cooked fish to recover your Hitpoints. You'll need this food to help heal Hitpoints while fighting, training Agility and to help you while Thieving when you are caught red-handed. Fishing is also a good source of money.

Quick-Links:

Free-to-Play

Crayfish are faster than Shrimps however, Crayfish will only heal 1 Hitpoints compared to the Shrimps healing amount of 3.

Get to Draynor is easy, just walk West from Lumbridge.

35ivepf.png

8zg3k2.png

Herring and sardines can be finished at any of the above locations.

These can be brought from the Port-Sarim Fishing Store, from another Player or from the Grand Exchange.

Level 40-50

lobby.gifAlright, you beginning to get pretty good at Fishing now.

The Second way (Recommended) requires you have to have completely finish the Lumbridge/Draynor Diary (Which is also Free-to-Play so don't worry). Using the Explorer's Ring 3, you are able to teleport to a Cabbage Patch in between Draynor and Port Sarim (Indicated by the Explorer's Ring icon on the map). The amount of times you can use this teleport are unlimited.

All you need to do is get an inventory full of Lobsters then teleport to Falador, run to the east bank and bank your lobsters. Then run back to Port Sarim and board the boat.

2mdf681.png

If you have access to the above two methods, you will only need to bring 30gp each trip to cover the cost of the trip.

Level 50-99

Congratulations! You can fish every-single fish in the Free-to-Play game! You are now able to fish Swordfish will can sell from 500-600gp.

Herring and sardines can be finished at Lumbridge, Draynor, Al-Kharid and Catherby. locations.

Level 30-40

Once you get to level 30, You can stay at Catherby and fish Tuna, or you can go to Lumbridge, Edgeville or Shilo Village (Requires the Shilo Village quest to enter) and Fly-Fish.

If you craft your runes, you won't be losing any money (unless you brought the Essence used to make the Runes, then you'll lose a little bit).

9h40pc.png

Here comes one of the best experience in the game. Shilo Village.

There are quite a good money-maker for this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch. To catch a Lobster, simply purchase a Lobster pot from the Catherby Fishing store. It is not recommended to fish at Musa Point (Karamja) as it is far from a bank.

1zekyu9.png

leapingtrout.gifAt level 48 (and 15 Agility and Strength), you are able to start using Barbarian Training to help catch your fish. To begin Barbarian Training, head over to Baxtorian Falls and talk to Otto. He'll tell you about Barbarian Training. If you choose this method, You will gain Agility and Strength expierence along with every catch. The downside is that you need to drop the offcuts you get from using a Knife with the fish you catch, which can take time. You can use the Roe or Caviar you get from the Fish you cut to use as bait, replacing feathers and bait at the Baxtorian falls.

map1.png

swordie.gifAt level 50, you'll be able to fish Swordfish with a harpoon, but you'll catch them along with Tuna, so you're better off with Lobsters.

rawtuna8bx.gifAt level 55, If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Tuna with your bare hands.

r7t54w.png At level 58 (and 30 Agility and Strength), you'll be able to catch Leaping Salmon with Barbarian Fishing at Baxtorian Falls.

Level 62-76

1q2xyt.pngIf you can, it is highly recommended to complete the Swan Song quest at the Piscatoris Fishing Colony. Doing so will allow you to fish Monkfish. Fast experience and good cash. They usually sell for around 300-450gp. To fish Monkfish, you'll need a Small Fishing Net, purchasable from the Piscatoris General Store for 50gp.

o5q87b.png

leapingsturgeon.png At level 70 (and 45 Agility and Strength), you'll be able to catch Leaping Sturgeon through Barbarian Training at the Baxtorian Falls.

swordie.gif At level 70, If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Swordfish with your bare hands.

Level 62-99

If you are able to fish Monkfish (see above), you should consider fishing them to 99 if you want to get 99. They're fast experience, but good money. They're not the fastest experience, but they're really good. They're slower than Fly-Fishing, but not that much slower.

To reach 99 from 62 by fishing Monkfish will require you to fish a whopping 105,839 monkfish, but in the end you'll be quite rich making 20+ Million Gp usually.

Level 68 (Guild)

Once you reach level 68 Fishing, you now have access to the world-famous Fishing Guild! If you are fishing Lobsters or Swordfish, it is highly recommend to change here because the bank is extremely close to the Fishing spots. The Fishing Guild is located North of Ardounge, West of Seer's Village and the Ranging Guild. You can enter the Fishing Guild at level 63 with an admiral pie, or 65 with a fishing potion.

Level 76-99

shark.gifCongratulations! You can now fish Sharks! Sharks usually sell for around 1k and can be an excellent money-making method. You can fish Sharks at Catherby, Jatizso, Burgh de Rott or the Fishing Guild.

20r906h.png

The last location where you can fish Sharks is in Burgh de Rott. It is not as close to the bank as the other locations however, it is isolated. There, of course, may be the odd one or two other players there.

24eoqa1.png

It is not recommended to fish Sharks to 99 as it will take an extremely long time, but you'll make a whopping 100+ million Gp. This may sound good, but it will an extremely long time.

Here is a table to help you decide which method to choose: (Note to Sal: Make them tables :ph34r: )

Amount of Cash - Method to use

Very-Little to No Money - Barbarian Fishing

Alright Money - Rasolo Fishing

Good Money - Fly-Fishing at Shilo Village

Excellant Money - Fishing Monkfish.

The Big 99

1z4ahvo.png(Note to Sal: When you format this paragraph, make it so that the Fisherman is to the left of all the text in this paragraph, like the Smithing Cape at the bottom of this guide, Thanks.) Congratulations on becoming one of the best Fishers in the whole of Runescape! You are now entitled to a Cape of Achievement for the low-low price of 99,000gp! To purchase this cape, head over to the Fishing Guild, North of Ardounge, West of Seer's Village and the Ranging Guild.

e0jr6r.png

Whenever you wear this cape, everyone around you with know that you are one of the best Fishers in the game. Not only that, but every time you put on the cape (or "Operate" it via the Equipment screen when you have equipped it), you'll have 100/99 Fishing for a minute or so. This may help you catch a Shark or two quicker.

emoteskillcape.gif(Note to Sal: Do the same for the icon to the left as you did for the Master fisher above) But thats not all, you'll also have access to a spectacular emote! (To use the Fishing emote, you'll need to have your Fishing cape equipped). To access the emote, go to the Emote panel and select the icon to the left.

For those who want to see the emote before you have 99 Fishing...

Additional Notes

You can find out how many fish you need to advance to the next level (or what level you choose) by going to Sal's Fishing Calculator.

Some of the quickest ways to get Fishing experience can be from quests.Here is a list of the amount of experience you can get from certain quests:

There is one notable random event where an evil cat kidnaps you and you'll be trapped on the island until you finish what he says. Don't worry, it shouldn't take longer than a minute. When he falls asleep, you can escape and you may receive 625 Fishing experience.

lamp.png

bartailharpoon.gif There is a special harpoon that can be equipped by members. If you can, it is highly recommended to use one as it will free up a space for another fish. These can be obtained via Hunter, The Grand Exchange or trading with another player.

seaturtle.gifmanta.gif There is a special minigame just for Fishing. Known as The Fishing Trawler, It can be a tough minigame, where you are on a sinking boat and you need to help keep it afloat. It is the only way to catch Turtles and Manta-Rays.

090706092402.png While fishing, you may come across a "Big Bass", a "Big Swordfish" and or a "Big Shark". These can be put on your wall in your house as a trophy, but they first need to be stuffed in Canifis.

Fishing can be a life-saving skill to raise. Why? Fishing allows you to fish all sorts of fish from measly Shrimp to powerful Shark!
You're able to cook the fish you earn with the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cooking.html"]Cooking[/url] skill and use the cooked fish to recover your [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/hitpoints.html"]Hitpoints[/url]. You'll need this food to help heal Hitpoints while fighting, training [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/agility.html"]Agility[/url] and to help you while [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/thieving.html"]Thieving[/url] when you are caught red-handed. Fishing is also a good source of money.

[name=f2p1][b] Level 1-20[/b] [/name]
So you've decided to take up Fishing, eh? Well there are 3 towns where you can begin Fishing in: [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/lumbridge.html"]Lumbridge[/url], [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/draynor_village.html"]Draynor Village[/url] and [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/al_kharid.html"]Al-Kharid[/url]. The best would be Draynor Village due to the relative closeness of its bank. First off, you'll need some supplies to get your journey started. You can get a Small fishing net and a Crayfish cage simply by talking to the Fishing Tutor (Follow the red line on the map to find him) or by purchasing them at the fishing store in [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/port_sarim.html"]Port Sarim[/url].

[img=http://i25.tinypic.com/2cniezo.png]

Crayfish are faster than Shrimps however, Crayfish will only heal 1 Hitpoints compared to the Shrimps healing amount of 3.
If you want to bank your Fish, there is a bank on the Third level of the Lumbridge Castle.
However, you're better off just heading North to the Cooking Tutor, cooking your fish on his range (Marked by a [img=http://i42.tinypic.com/2cqya7q.png] icon) and then dropping them.

It is up to you to decide however, It is recommended to cook the fish you get at this level as they will make very little profit.

Off to [b][url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/draynor_village.html"]Draynor[/url][/b] now. Draynor is the best place for Fishing at this level. Get to Draynor is easy, just walk West from Lumbridge.
[img=http://i43.tinypic.com/fd6bgj.png]
As you can see, the Bank is [i]extremely[/i] close to the Fishing spot. If you are level 14 or lower, be aware of the Level 7 Dark Wizards that wander around the Fishing Spots. They aren't usually a problem as you are protected by the Willow trees, however they can get around and still be a problem. Don't forget there are other people [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/woodcutting.html"]Woodcutting[/url] and Fishing here with you, so every so often another player may kill a Dark Wizard for fun.

While Draynor [i]does not[/i] have Crayfish spots, there are still the good ol' shrimp spots. Once you have a full inventory, you should bank your Shrimp and cook them later.

Last stop, [b][url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/al_kharid.html"]Al-Kharid[/url][/b]. Al-Kharid can be found East of Lumbridge, just over the River Lum bridge. If you have not completed the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/quests/PrinceAliRescue.html"]Prince Ali Rescue Quest[/url], you will need to pay 10gp to enter, or you will have to follow the fence-line north until you find a gap in the wall. Walking through that gap can save you 10gp, but it is better off to just pay the toll. If you've completed the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/quests/PrinceAliRescue.html"]Prince Ali Rescue quest[/url], you are able to enter for free.

[img=http://i39.tinypic.com/35ivepf.png]
[img=http://i41.tinypic.com/8zg3k2.png]

Once you get level 5 Fishing, get a Fishing Rod and some Bait (From the Port-Sarim Fishing store, Another player or the [url="http://../grand_exchange.html"]Grand Exchange[/url]). You'll be able to fish sardines. You should just bank these as they're better for cooking than for money. To fish sardines, Select "Bait" instead of "Net. You'll also get Herring at level 10 Fishing when using bait. Herring and sardines can be finished at any of the above locations. Once again, Draynor is the best place to fish at this level due to the closeness of the bank.

[name=f2p2][b] Level 20-40[/b] [/name]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/trout.gif]Once you get 20 Fishing, you are able to fish Trout. Trout are popular due to their fast experience in Free-to-Play. First off, you are going to need a Fly-Fishing Rod and some feathers. These can be brought from the Port-Sarim Fishing Store, from another Player or from the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/grand_exchange.html%20"]Grand Exchange[/url]. Once you get your materials, head over back to Lumbridge.

[img=http://i40.tinypic.com/28a8845.png]
Head over to the East side of the River Lum to where the "Rod" icon is. Once you get there: Fish! Once you get a full inventory, sell your Fish to the General Store directly opposite the river (Marked by a [img=http://i40.tinypic.com/154edtz.png] icon). Once you've sold the fish, go back and repeat.
If you want to keep the fish, consider using Law Runes to teleport yourself to Lumbridge Castle (31 [url="http://../magic.html"]Magic[/url] required), then bank your fish, teleport again and then go back to your fishing spot This is not recommended as you'll make less money, or even lose money due to the cost of Law Runes.

If you want a change in Scenery or want a quicker way to get rid of your Fish, consider fishing at Edgeville. It is usually packed with people and there are usually people willing to take your fish (Although for Free) via Trade. If you want to keep your fish, follow the Red line to the bank.
[img=http://i27.tinypic.com/9h40pc.png]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/salmon.gif] You will begin to catch Salmon. If you want to, you can fish Tuna with a Harpoon (Purchase from the Grand Exchange, Port Sarim Fishing Store or another player) and head over to Port Sarim (Read below to find out how to fish Tuna).This is slightly more valuable than Trout. Fly-fishing Trout and Salmon is [b][i]the[/i][/b] fastest way to get 99 Fishing in Free-to-Play.

[b] [/b][name=f2p3] [b]Level 40-50[/b] [/name]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/lobby.gif]Alright, you beginning to get pretty good at Fishing now.

[img=http://i42.tinypic.com/mj356q.png]

Head over to the Red Circle and pay 30Gp to one of the three Customs Officers and you'll be on a boat to Musa Point. Once you're there, head over to the Fishing spot (Indicated by the Lobster Cage and harpoon).

[img=http://i39.tinypic.com/1zqvoew.png]

The Second way (Recommended) requires you have to have completely finish the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/diaries/lumbridge.html"]Lumbridge/Draynor Diary[/url] (Which is also Free-to-Play so don't worry). Using the Explorer's Ring 3, you are able to teleport to a Cabbage Patch in between Draynor and Port Sarim (Indicated by the Explorer's Ring icon on the map). The amount of times you can use this teleport are unlimited.
Fill up your inventory with Fish and then use the Ring to teleport to the Cabbage Patch. Run down to Draynor and bank. Teleport again and run to Port Sarim, Pay 30gp and when your inventory is full, repeat again.

[img=http://i41.tinypic.com/fcrams.png]
There is one more way to get your Lobsters into your bank however, it requires 37 [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/magic.html"]Magic[/url]. All you need to do is get an inventory full of Lobsters then teleport to [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/falador.html"]Falador[/url], run to the east bank and bank your lobsters. Then run back to Port Sarim and board the boat.

[img=http://i30.tinypic.com/2mdf681.png]

If you have access to the above two methods, you will only need to bring 30gp each trip to cover the cost of the trip.

[b] [/b][name=f2p4] [b]Level 50-99 [/b][/name]

Congratulations! You can fish every-single fish in the Free-to-Play game! You are now able to fish Swordfish will can sell from 500-600gp.

[hr]
[size=3][size=2][name=members] [/size][u][b]Members[/b][/u][/size] [/name]

[name=mem1][b] Level 1-20[/b] [/name]

For the first 20 levels, Fishing in Members is very similar to the first 20 levels in Free-to-Play. However, you have access to another location: [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/catherby.html"]Catherby[/url].

Once you get level 5 Fishing, get a Fishing Rod and some Bait (From the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/port_sarim.html"]Port-Sarim[/url] or Catherby Fishing store, Another player or the [url="http://../grand_exchange.html"]Grand Exchange[/url]). Herring and sardines can be finished at [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/lumbridge.html"]Lumbridge[/url], [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/draynor_village.html"]Draynor[/url], [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/al_kharid.html"]Al-Kharid[/url] and Catherby. locations. Once again, Catherby is the best place to fish at this level due to the closeness of the bank.

[img=http://i30.tinypic.com/1zekyu9.png]

Catherby is [i]the best [/i]place in Runescape for fishing (Unless you are fishing for Trout or Salmon) until Level 68. It is extremely close to a bank, and there is a Fishing Store right by the Fishing spots. At this level, you can keep the fish if you want, or you can sell to the Fishing Store (No player will buy low-leveled fish like Shrimp for example). If you are using a [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/summoning.html"]Summoning[/url] familiar to help you fish, there is a Summoning obelisk at the North-East end of the beach.

[b] [/b][name=mem2][b] Level 16-30[/b] [/name]

Alright, so you've fished Shrimp for a bit and you're level 16. Now what? Well, head over to the Fishing Store and buy yourself a Big Fishing Net (Make sure in the title it says "Big"!). Still Fishing in Catherby, Begin to fish with your big net. You'll obtain trash like boots, gloves and seaweed; however you may occasionally come across an Oyster or a Casket with Treasure inside! Seaweed can be used in [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/crafting.html"]Crafting[/url] (along with Molten Glass) to make items such as Vials. So if you are an avid Crafter, keep them.

[name=mem3][b] Level 30-40[/b] [/name]

Once you get to level 30, You can stay at Catherby and fish Tuna, or you can go to Lumbridge, Edgeville or [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/shilo_village.html"]Shilo Village[/url] (Requires the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/quests/ShiloVillage.html"]Shilo Village quest[/url] to enter) and Fly-Fish. Shilo Village gives you the best Fishing experience in the game. To fly-fish, you'll need a Fly-Fishing Rod and some Feathers (Obtainable from other Players, the Grand Exchange or from the Port Sarim, Catherby or Shilo Village Fishing Stores).

[img=http://i40.tinypic.com/28a8845.png]
 If you want to keep the fish, consider using Law Runes to teleport yourself to Lumbridge Castle (31 [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/magic.html"]Magic[/url] required), then bank your fish, teleport again
and then go back to your fishing spot. This is not recommended as you'll make less money, or even lose money due to the cost of Law Runes, it is a different story if you [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/runecrafting.html"]craft your runes[/url] though. If you craft your runes, you won't be losing any money (unless you brought the Essence used to make the Runes, then you'll lose a little bit).

[img=http://i27.tinypic.com/9h40pc.png]

Here comes one of the [i]best[/i] experience in the game. [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/shilo_village.html"]Shilo Village[/url].
[img=http://i39.tinypic.com/30w2wpd.png]
The Fishing spots are right next to a bank meaning quick and easy banking, as well as quick experience. If you stay here to 99, you can make quite a bit of money. If you are using a [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/summoning.html"]Summoning[/url] familiar to help you fish, there is a Summoning obelisk to the west of the River.

[img=http://i39.tinypic.com/29lz408.png]

[name=mem4][b] Level 40-62[/b] [/name]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/lobby.gif]You can continue to Fly-Fish if you wish. You are now able to catch Lobsters. There are quite a good money-maker for this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch. To catch a Lobster, simply purchase a Lobster pot from the Catherby Fishing store. It is not recommended to fish at Musa Point (Karamja) as it is far from a bank.
[img=http://i30.tinypic.com/1zekyu9.png]
[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/itemdb/images/leapingtrout.gif]At level 48 (and 15 [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/agility.html"]Agility[/url] and [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/strength.html"]Strength[/url]), you are able to start using [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/barbarian_training.html"]Barbarian Training[/url] to help catch your fish.
[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/miniquests/BarbarianTraining/map1.png]
[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/swordie.gif]At level 50, you'll be able to fish Swordfish with a harpoon, but you'll catch them along with Tuna, so you're better off with Lobsters.

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/itemdb/images/rawtuna8bx.gif]At level 55, If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Tuna with your bare hands.

[img=http://i43.tinypic.com/r7t54w.png] At level 58 (and 30 [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/agility.html"]Agility[/url] and [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/strength.html"]Strength[/url]), you'll be able to catch Leaping Salmon with Barbarian Fishing at Baxtorian Falls.

[name=mem5][b] Level 62-76 [/b][/name]

[img=http://i41.tinypic.com/1q2xyt.png]If you can, it is highly recommended to complete the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/quests/SwanSong.html"]Swan Song[/url] quest at the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/fishing_colony.html"]Piscatoris Fishing Colony[/url]. Doing so will allow you to fish Monkfish. Fast experience and good cash. They usually sell for around 300-450gp. To fish Monkfish, you'll need a Small Fishing Net, purchasable from the Piscatoris General Store for 50gp.
[img=http://i42.tinypic.com/o5q87b.png]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/miniquests/BarbarianTraining/leapingsturgeon.png] At level 70 (and 45 [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/agility.html"]Agility[/url] and [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/strength.html"]Strength[/url]), you'll be able to catch Leaping Sturgeon through Barbarian Training at the Baxtorian Falls.

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/swordie.gif] At level 70, If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Swordfish with your bare hands.

[name=mem6][b] Level 62-99[/b] [/name]

[name=mem7][b] Level 68[/b] [b](Guild) [/b][/name]
Once you reach level 68 Fishing, you now have access to the world-famous [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/guilds/guild_fishing.html"]Fishing Guild[/url]! If you are fishing Lobsters or Swordfish, it is highly recommend to change here because the bank is extremely close to the Fishing spots. The Fishing Guild is located North of [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/east_ardougne.html"]Ardounge[/url], West of [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/seers_village.html"]Seer's Village[/url] and the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/guilds/guild_ranging.html"]Ranging Guild[/url]. You can enter the Fishing Guild at level 63 with an admiral pie, or 65 with a fishing potion.

[name=mem8][b] Level 76-99[/b] [/name]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/shark.gif]Congratulations! You can now fish Sharks! Sharks usually sell for around 1k and can be an excellent money-making method. You can fish Sharks at Catherby, [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/jatizso.html"]Jatizso[/url], [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/burgh_de_rott.html"]Burgh de Rott[/url] or the Fishing Guild. Out of all of them, The Fishing Guild is the best place as it is closer to the bank than the other locations. Sharks can be caught on a Net/Harpoon Fishing spot, and they are [b]not[/b] caught with Swordfish or Tuna.

[img=http://i30.tinypic.com/1zekyu9.png]
Shark Fishing spots can be found throughout Catherby Beach.
[url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/jatizso.html"]Jatizso[/url] is a good place if you wish to be alone. However, There may occasionally be one or two other players here.
[img=http://i39.tinypic.com/20r906h.png]
The last location where you can fish Sharks is in [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/burgh_de_rott.html"]Burgh de Rott[/url]. It is not as close to the bank as the other locations however, it is isolated. There, of course, may be the odd one or two other players there.
[img=http://i32.tinypic.com/24eoqa1.png]

It is [i][b]not[/b] [/i]recommended to fish Sharks to 99 as it will take an extremely long time, but you'll make a whopping 100+ million Gp. This may sound good, but it will an extremely long time.

At Fishing level 96, you'll be able to catch Sharks with your hands, first you need to be taught in the ways of the [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/barbarian_training.html"]Barbarian[/url] and have 76 Strength.

The three most popular ways of getting to 99 are Fly-Fishing at Shilo, Fishing Monkfish and Barbarian Fish. Here is a table to help you decide which method to choose: (Note to Sal: Make them tables :P )

[b]Amount of Cash - Method to use[/b]
Very-Little to No Money - Barbarian Fishing
Alright Money - Rasolo Fishing
Good Money - Fly-Fishing at Shilo Village
Excellant Money - Fishing Monkfish.

[name=99][b] The Big 99 [/b][/name][b]
[/b]
[img=http://i41.tinypic.com/1z4ahvo.png]([i][b]Note to Sal:[/b][/i] When you format this paragraph, make it so that the Fisherman is to the left of all the text in this paragraph, like the Smithing Cape at the bottom of [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/smithing_help.html"]this guide[/url], Thanks.) Congratulations on becoming one of the best Fishers in the whole of Runescape! You are now entitled to a [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/capes_of_achievement.html"]Cape of Achievement[/url] for the low-low price of 99,000gp! To purchase this cape, head over to the Fishing Guild, North of Ardounge, West of Seer's Village and the Ranging Guild.

[img=http://i44.tinypic.com/e0jr6r.png]

[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/emoteskillcape.gif](Note to Sal: Do the same for the icon to the left as you did for the Master fisher above) But thats not all, you'll also have access to a spectacular emote! (To use the Fishing emote, you'll need to have your Fishing cape equipped). To access the emote, go to the Emote panel and select the icon to the left.

For those who want to see the emote before you have 99 Fishing...

There is one notable [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/random_events.html"]random event[/url] where an evil cat kidnaps you and you'll be trapped on the island until you finish what he says. Don't worry, it shouldn't take longer than a minute. When he falls asleep, you can escape and you may receive 625 Fishing experience.

[img=http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww2/mattharrington/lamp.png]
[img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/bartailharpoon.gif] There is a special harpoon that can be equipped by members. [img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/seaturtle.gif][img=http://runescape.salmoneus.net/images/manta.gif] There is a special minigame just for Fishing. Known as [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/fishing_trawler.html"]The Fishing Trawler[/url], It can be a tough minigame, where you are on a sinking boat and you need to help keep it afloat. It is the only way to catch Turtles and Manta-Rays.

[img=http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/8430/090706092402.png] While fishing, you may come across a "Big Bass", a "Big Swordfish" and or a "Big Shark". These can be put on your wall in your [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/construction.html"]house[/url] as a trophy, but they first need to be stuffed in [url="http://runescape.salmoneus.net/cities/canifis.html"]Canifis[/url].

Catherby Fishing store,nother player or the Grand Exchange).

Just put in an 'a' in 'Another'

Herring and sardines can be finished at Lumbridge

Should be 'can be fished'

Draynor, Al-Kharid and Catherby. locations. Once again, Catherby is the best place to fish at this level due to the closeness of the bank.

Dunno what you did there, but 'Catherby. locations.' just doesn't sound right :ice:

Level 30-40

Once you get to level 30, You can stay at Catherby and fish Tuna, or you can go to Lumbridge, Edgeville or Shilo Village

Just like to point out, you need 35 to Fish Tuna, but you wrote 30 :) So just add in something to tell you that :eyebrows:

Level 40-62

There are quite a good money-maker for this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch.

Change to 'These are quite good at money-making at this level in Fishing with around 300-400gp a catch.' or something.

To begin Barbarian Training, head over to Baxtorian Falls and talk to Otto. He'll tell you about Barbarian Training.

You should make this 1 Sentence.

Level 62-76

Doing so will allow you to fish Monkfish. Fast experience and good cash. They usually sell for around 300-450gp.

Should be 1 Sentence

swordie.gif At level 70, If you have been taught in the ways of the barbarian, you will be able to fish Swordfish with your bare hands.

You also need 50 Strength

If you are fishing Lobsters or Swordfish, it is highly recommend to change here because the bank is extremely close to the Fishing spots.

Should change to 'highly recommended to come here'

Amount of Cash - Method to use

Very-Little to No Money - Barbarian Fishing

Alright Money - Rasolo Fishing

Good Money - Fly-Fishing at Shilo Village

Excellant Money - Fishing Monkfish.

Just a slight Grammar error (Excellent)

Whenever you wear this cape, everyone around you with know that you are one of the best Fishers in the game.

Just write 'everyone around you will know'

Some of the quickest ways to get Fishing experience can be from quests.Here is a list of the amount of experience you can get from certain quests:

Just add a space after the Full Stop

Just pointed out a few more Errors, this time for 'Members Fishing'. Once again, lovely guide, and should be put up ASAP ;)
