What's left in the manga is pretty freaking awesome too My only complaint is not enough Seijurou Hiko. >: ( I know, right?!?!? Â Â I guess he's too broken.... If he was the main character the manga would only last one chapter. Â Half a page for the tokyo arc, a page for the oniwabanshu, half a page for Raijuta, one page for the Juppongatana, a pagespread for Shishio and one page for the Jinchuu arc. The rest of the pages would be him having sex with Kaoru, Megumi and that girl from the Akebeko. Â And it would be awesome. Â Mind you the only reason some arcs take a page is because he has to drink sake at some point during the story.

The cheesy acting of the live action series and the over the topness of both Manga and Series are what made it catch on to me. I've definitely put it on my to watch/read list at the moment. zellychan
One Manga will be shut down by the next week. Â Yea I was gonna come post about it. It's one of the few manga sites that never gave me any popups/virus/problems. Great staff too. Â Not that there aren't other sites, but....the good ones always go first. -_- It had really become the central online manga hub. I wonder if a few copycat sites dont spring up. Rene
For the ones under us who don't know what's going on:   Coalition with Japan's Digital Comic Association plans legal action on 30 scanlation sites The 36 publishers in Japan's Digital Comic Association and several American publishers are forming a coalition to combat the "rampant and growing problem" of scanlations — illicit digital copies of manga either translated by fans or scanned directly from legitimate English releases.  The coalition asserts that "scanlation aggregator" sites "now host thousands of pirated titles, earning ad revenue and/or membership dues at creators' expense while simultaneously undermining foreign licensing opportunities and unlawfully cannibalizing legitimate sales." Google lists one site on its list of the 1,000 most-visited sites on the web. An unnamed spokesperson for the coalition also pointed to smartphone applications designed to read such sites as an escalation of the problem.  The coalition is reportedly threatening legal action against 30 scanlation sites, whose names were not revealed. The organization currently includes Japanese publishers Kodansha, Shogakukan, Shueisha, Square Enix, and the Tuttle-Mori Agency, as well as North American manga publishers Vertical Inc., Viz Media, Tokyopop, and Yen Press.  Source: Publishers Weekly  Update: According to a press release issued by Viz Media on Tuesday, the coalition's members include Square Enix, Viz Media, TOKYOPOP, Vertical, Inc., the Tuttle-Mori Agency, Yen Press, and the members of the Digital Comic Association: Akane Shinsha, Akita Shoten, ASCII Media Works, East Press, Ichijinsha, Enterbrain, Okura Shuppan, Ohzora Shuppan, Gakken, Kadokawa Shoten, Gentosha Comics, Kodansha, Jitsugyo No Nihonsha, Shueisha, Junet, Shogakukan, Shogakukan Shueisha Production, Shodensha, Shonen Gahosha, Shinshokan, Shinchosha, Take Shobo, Tatsumi Shuppan, Tokuma Shoten, Nihon Bungeisha, Hakusensha, Fujimi Shobo, Fusosha, Futabasha, France Shoin, Bunkasha, Houbunsha, Magazine House, Media Factory, Leed sha, and Libre Shuppan.     Recently Mangatoshokan took down most of their manga hosted. (they had over a 1000 before they started removing them)   We hoped it wouldn't come to this, but due to mounting legal pressure, we have been advised to remove all series serialized by the publishers in the coalition. This was a very difficult decision to make, and one we did not take lightly. Unfortunately this means we have had to remove the majority of our library, however we have been able to retain some manga, as well as most of our manhua and manhwa. We will be shifting the focus of the site more to manhwa and manhua (Korean and Chinese manga). For some of you, this may be your last visit to MangaToshokan, but before you leave we would appreciate it if you could fill out a short six question survey that we are going to share the results to the publishers. If nothing else, we hope it will make them aware of the consequences of their actions. Also if you could pass this survey on to other people we would appreciate it. Again, we apologize for this, but we don't have any other options at this point.     And now, One Manga has announced their shutdown.   "There is an end to everything, to good things as well."  It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publishers have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July '10).  So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some ideas we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it would be a shame to see that disappear.  You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy our 'better than peanut butter and jelly' invention.  Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.  As a certain Porky was fond of saying... That's all folks!  Time for me to go lay down and let this all sink in.     Mangafox also recently removed all of their series that were licensed by Viz.  It's a lot like stopping illegal music downloads though. It's not something that you can possibly accomplish.  Though I doubt that we'll have much online readers left with obscure series at this rate. zellychan
I'm guessing things will go to the way they used to be, where it was the scanlator group's site that had the individual mangas as opposed to huge "one stop for all your needs" sites. Â At least until scanlation groups themselves start facing legal action. Â I read quite a bit of manhwa on the side so I'm glad to see that they will still be up in some capacity. Â Mangahelpers is doing major alterations too: http://mangahelpers.com/news/details/376 Edited July 22, 2010 by zellychan

Sir Vough
I kind of liked Yu-Gi-Oh! GX during the first and fourth seasons, but everything else was crud. Now, I just watch Bleach, or FMA. Gary Oak
Currently reading: Bleach, One Piece, FMA, Soul Eater, Naruto (online) Currently watching: Naruto Shippuuden (American Manga is actually farther than where the anime is in Japan ), FMA Brotherhood (Gonna go back to original, yay Hulu ), One Piece. Â Â Series Finished: Â Soul Eater (Anime)- Good series. When Arachnae was introduced, the anime lost it's flavor. Apparently the manga goes further, so i hope the anime does too. Dub voices suck. Black Star sounds like a girl and Dr. Stein sounded like a higher pitched Squidward. Â Naruto (Anime)- Meh, what can I say, it was fun till after the big Sasuke fight. All those filler episodes weren't needed in the end. Shippuuden is 10x better b/c there's more action and less fillers. Â MAR (Manga)- Fairy tales at it's highest point. Great manga and I still have it. Plot line was good and the end had a great twist that i didn't see coming. Â Megaman NT Warrior (Manga and Anime)- The manga brought back memories of the Battle Network series of Megaman. Though it seemed to repeat the games, it was still a good manga. Megaman + Bass fusion actually occured and we learn what was behind their "bond". The anime however had some bad taste to it and it lasted too long. IMO, the Beast Out arc was the worse b/c some baby netnavi who had all the power and the relationship between Megaman and Roll became very lame. Manga is always the better version. Â Â Anyways, that's what I've been up to in the manga and anime world. Although I want to watch another anime series or start it atleast. Any suggestions? :) Edited July 23, 2010 by Shinigami
