Desert Treasure Bosses Without Protection Prayers

Going to make my own dungeon map for Damis, still working on a better description for Kamil

***It would be great to know if all these techniques still work! Thanks :wizard:**

Desert Treasure Bosses Without Protection Prayers

Written By: Guitar

Special Thanks To: Twist of Fate, Goggie, Roy, Satans Wyrda, Ph201

Recommended Requirements

Levels: 60+ Magic, 60+ Hitpoints

Items: Lots of food (Monkfish or better, over 200 may be needed), many casts for all of 4 of your best elemental spells (Each boss is weak to different elements.)

Table of Contents

1. Introduction

2. Damis

3. Dessous

4. Kamil

5. Fareed

Introduction

Desert Treasure is one of the hardest quests, but with the right knowledge, it can be done without protection prayers and even one defense. This guide covers the bosses, and the full guide can be found here. You will need lots of food. Monkfish are the best because they are cheap and heal a lot. You may need as much or more than 200 because the bosses are challenging. You will most likely mess up a lot, especially if you are not experienced.

Damis

What you need: Runes for the highest level earth spell you can cast and lots of monkfish or better. One super energy is recommended for quick navigation.

safespot7.png

safespot2.png

Dessous

Dessous can be very annoying to kill without prayer, especially with one defense because you will be hit a lot. Dessous cannot be completely safespotted, so be extra careful when attempting him.

Two options to kill Dessous:

  • *Use a cannon. You should bring around 100 cannonballs.
*Bring lots of good food (shark or better) and use magic or range. You will use up most of your food since Dessous can still use his ranged attack in this position. Use your highest air spell to kill Dessous.

safespot8.png

Standing in this area will make Dessous only use his range attack if done correctly because he should now be stuck behind the gate. Now, use range or mage to kill him. If using a cannon, set that up first then walk to the safespot.

If you die, you can run back and pick up your cannon if you used one.

Kamil

Kamil is most likely the hardest boss here because of the winter conditions. Don't be discouraged if it takes you multiple attempts to get to and kill Kamil.

What you need: Runes for your best fire spell, good food (monkfish+), 5+ Restore potions(4)

2dje4pw.gif

After talking to the baby troll, you will need to kill five Ice Trolls.

safespot4.png

After killing five Ice Trolls, you will need someone to block the level 132 wolves when going to Kamil or you will get piled and die. To do this, simply follow a high level friend with Protect from melee, and the wolves will focus on him.

dtguide1.png

When you get to Kamil, get into this position.

wvpoc2.png

This might take a lot of trial and error because Kamil might walk to you and start attacking you if you not get into the safespot quick enough.

A second approach to Kamil is to use a cannon. Thus, you would be able to kill Kamil quickly. However, if you mess up and die, theres a good chance you might not be able to reclaim your cannon. Even if a high level friend blesses your grave, you would still need to get by the wolves again which could be challenging.

If you are having trouble getting Kamil stuck, a bind spell is a good option to stop him from following you for a couple of seconds.

Fareed

Fareed is one of the easiest bosses to defeat, if you follow this part correctly.

What you need: A tinderbox, 50 bind spells, runes for your best water spell, good food (lobsters or monkfish will do), 3-5 Super energies.

n3kqpk.gif

After you light all the torches and get into the area with Fareed, bind him then use your spells on him. When the bind wears off, bind him again. He is weak to water spells, being a fire-based creature. Before, you needed to have worn the Ice Gloves from the Heroes quest to wield a staff to autocast. However, Ice Gloves are no longer worth getting since you can now autocast without a staff.

As you bind Fareed, roughly go in this circle so you can stay as far as possible from him. Be careful not to let him melee you because he can hit very high.

Conclusion

Hope this helps! :box:

Looks good so far. Just got a little confused when the arrow pointed at the hound. :wizard:

The guide looks good, but what would make it better would be a table of contents, a centered header with the credits, and centered pictures. Also, links. You seem to have the basic idea of writing a guide down and if you need help with the table of contents (It can get confusing) then tell me and I will format it for you. :wizard: I'll edit in links too, so you will not have to go all over the site for em.

Just a tip, instead of underlining your titles, simply bold them. It looks much neater.

Here is a formatted version with links if you would like to use it. I added in information about weaknesses. Damis is weak to earth spells, Dessous to air, kamil to fire, and fareed to water.

this guide really has no point because the methods in quest are OK as they r (also most people like prayer any way)

You'd be suprised what guides we have that may seem unnecessary at first.

This could just be put under Tips&guides as "Desert Treasure Help" or something. I mean, we have that for skills which could just be part of the skill guide, but if people are looking for specific help and a new way to do things, why not?

For all of the bosses it is (or was) possible to have a friend stand in the way and be a personal safespot, it makes Fareed a lot easier, as well as Damis and Kamil.

Looking good, except your method of safespotting Damis in the upper curve is outdated, as he will disappear in a puff of smoke just as he gets close to the curve, losing your progress on his current form. This method of safespotting has been removed by Jagex.

Also, having a friend stand infront of you won't act as a safespot, as the 4 Bosses can move through them.

When was this updated? I did Desert Treasure this way a couple weeks ago :wizard:

Can i use super energy pot to boost my energy enough to run past the wolves? then drink some more for 40 energy when the frostbite takes it down to 0? i think you should add this if it works.

For the sake of argument, this really should be added as an "option" to an entirely revised "Desert Treasure" guide ...

This doesn't need the items - only the main guide does. You could include items that are used in killing the bosses, though.

Kamil is most likely the hardest boss here because of the winter conditions. Don't be discouraged if it takes you multiple attempts to get to and kill Kamil. While figuring out how to kill Kamil, it took me personally over 10 tries and 200K.

The reader doesn't care how hard it was for you as an individual to kill Kamil. Eliminate the first person (me/I) and leave it at "it might take you a few tries to kill Kamil".

high level friend with Protect from melee,

Capitalise "Melee".

I would use bind for kamil, just so it is 100% certain to work.

Also, a cannon doesn't hurt.

For Fareed, believe it or not, you can have a friend stand inbetween you and block him (act like a barrier) and you mage through them ^^

You will most likely mess up alot, especially if you are not experienced.

Should be "a lot".

Thus, you would be able to kill Kamily quickly.

Should be "Kamil".

Redo the Kamil picture with the yellow line covering the C in Rock.

Redoing is a bit unnecessary, it's also possible with mspaint:
