Well, anybody watch some football (otherwise known as soccer), and is also anxious for the world cup next year?

I hate that word soccer :wizard: Silly Americans and other countries which call it that :box: :/

I support arsenal and can't wait to beat Man City tomorrow :rich:

I support Swindon :wizard:

I am so looking forward to the world cup, it will be a great showcase for World TALENT. Not stupid talent contest, but something to make someone a hero or a villain.

Based on England's 5-1 victory to Croatia on Wednesday (which I was at) I'd think they'll be seeded along with Spain and Holland, and possibly a few other teams, so they'll have the advantage until the Second Round.

In all honesty, a win against Croatia isn't really all that great of an accomplishment. I don't think you can fairly compare them with teams that have had to play much more difficult competition based on that game.

Yeah, I don't get why they call it soccer either... I mean, it does use the foot A LOOOOT more than their "football".

I don't have a special team in the Premier League, but my sympathies lay with Tottenham, and I'd rather see Arsenal win than Man U. :D

I'm also Real Madrid, and am seriously hoping that they beat the crap out of Barcelona this season :rich:

Then, these World Cup qualifiers have been interesting, I've been watching the CONCACAF ones mainly, since my national team is Honduras, I think we have a good chance to make it into the world cup, if we beat the USA team next month (hopefully I'll go to the stadium :D ). It's been pretty interesting too, I'm disappointed at Argentina and France this year... And I'm all for Spain winning the World Cup in South Africa!

Croatia are a pretty good team. They got to the Semi finals in 1998, and despite a slight lapse have been very good in recent years, especially around about Euro 2008

True, but they were poop on Wednesday. England played well but there is still a heck of a way to go. But... I do think Capello is the man for the job, his clinical no-nonsense approach is working well for the side.

While they weren't on top form, they were playing well enough to win if we weren't firing on all cylinders

Irrefutable proof that Italians do it better. :box:

About South Africa '10...I'm not that excited, really.

I know Croatia aren't the best in the world, but they are ranked 9th in the world, so I wouldn't call it an easy game.

I'm a Man U supporter :wizard:

Well, I say I am but it's mainly just to please my dad, who's mad about football :/ I'll watch the occasional match and I have a United shirt, but I prefer playing football than watching it :box:

Scrum, we were most definitely not firing on all cylinders. We still have the chronic problem of players relaxing after a comfortable lead and letting their concentration go (last 2 matches were prime examples, in both a number of silly mistakes at the back led to an unnecessary Goal against us) and Heskey/Rooney between them missed 3 sitters. The main story of the Score is that Croatia were too inconsistent, and the reception their attacking players were getting was very poor. And the Goalie had a howler :wizard:

Heskey isn't a much of a goalscorer anyway.

And 4-1 is a comfortable lead by most stretches. And we were firing on many cylinders??

Just because you know you won't win this time, eh?

England doesn't seem to be doing bad, really, I just don't think it will get too far in the actual World Cup (sadly, as usual :box: )

Notice we've got a lot of Englanders here :/

I reckon Quarter-Finals KO, Semi Finals if we're playing well.

I'm in a realistic mood about the World Cup :box:

Yeah, but it really lies on our group. If we come 2nd in the group we might go out in the 2nd round. But with Capello's no nonsense and hoping that England are fit and on form, I think our Best 11 could do very well this time round.

You can't tell who'll win the World Cup when not everyone's qualified Gogs :wizard:

But I'd say Spain have a good punt, although they may have peaked too early.

The thing I don't get is the papers saying about the Ivory Coasts home advantage? Well first, they've not qualified, and they're only on the same continent as South Africa.

It's like me saying Liechtenstein will win a World Cup in Croatia because they're on the same continent really.

I'm actually supporting Australia to win this.

I hate the England time. They're decent, but they're all posers.

I was rooting for Scotland, they went out. Second choice was Wales but they're out too.

What's up with the mascot? It looks like something out of Dora the Explorer.

I don't want you to support anyone (bar England :wizard:), i'm just commenting on your choices.

Well, sometimes people just support a team, knowing it will not win :wizard: I'm supporting my country, Honduras, which hasn't qualified yet, but has done a great job on the Concacaf qualifiers, but I just know it won't win :box:

I'm all for Spain on this cup, Argentina disappointed me (badly, Maradona crapped himself on the team) and France isn't going great.
