Do You Find The Combat In Runescape Bad?

Recommended Posts

Y'all need to try some of the more difficult quests and boss fights, then tell me RuneScape's combat is all just click and watch. Believe me, I can barely move my mouse fast enough to beat some of the quest bosses I've fought. Of course training is just click and watch, just about every MMO in the world uses that or a similar style of training combat. Just about every other skill in RuneScape is like that too, so why just complain about combat?

Well, another thing about combat is that its slow as heck to train, I mean each point of damage is like 4xp right? Compare that to cutting willows in WC. Willows are like 67xp per I think. Combat may be fun as a high leveled mem, but its so boring to train. Especially on f2p where you dont have any rock crabs =/

how about A button for chop S button for slash D button for block and F for stab because i would love to use those in a order like A D D S F F D and it would actualy feel like legend of zelda windwaker attack style. also you can set your lvl up type using the combat tab but you can still press all of the A S D F keys and it will still lvl up the skill you selected like defence or strangth or attack :wizard:

You can get around 80k exp an hour which is the same for woodcutting if you're chopping ivy.

I train combat on abyssal demons. They work for me because they're very profitable and are decent exp. Training combat with slayer is a very good idea. It is very profitable and you're not killing the same thing all the time.

Do you find the combat is boring and lame? I mean you just click and watch. Thats one of the reasons I pretty much just use my lvl 3 skiller now :wizard:

If you hate that aspect of combat, then why don't you hate the game in its entirety?

He's right.

A lot of miniquests, quests, and minigames require that you are very maneuverable, and require an assortment of abilities and skills.

I figure it this way:

If I wanted to play a game with in-depth combat, I'd play a video game. Sometimes I do that because I feel more into the game.

If I wanted to play a game that lets you relax while your avatar does the fighting, I'd play RuneScape. I do this fairly often.

RuneScape is good because not all the people that play it want to be button-mashing. There are a lot of adults playing, even 50+ people playing. It's really a game you can play with family, so they wouldn't make it like a video game.

MechScape/StellarDawn, on the other hand, looks to be an in-depth game that will probably be more like Halo than RuneScape (or at least I'm hoping).

Well, Runescape is a lot deeper than just combat.

Lots of people may think that Runecape's combat system is boring, but to be honest, isn't that what makes Runescape what it is? Because a lot of the other skills are like that too, where you click and watch.

It also depends on the monster you are fighting, because if you are fighting lesser demons, for example, it may get slightly boring, because they're very easy to kill. On the other hand, if you are fighting monsters such as the KBD, or Kalphite Queen, combat is a lot of fun, because you always have to be on your toes. :wizard:

I wouldn't say it's bad, a lot of combat requires you to be skilled, like god wars, the king black dragon, the kalphite queen etc.. Combat used to be ALOT worse a few years ago, but they've made and are making a lot of graphical improvements to the way we fight. Compared to other games, yes, it is not the best, but the combat style used in Runescape is what makes the game unique.

It's not bad, it's boring. I mean if they let you customize yourself more, it would be good but at the moment you can only stand and fight. And the armory is very little! I mean, main weapon for anyone is a Whip or Dragon Scimitar, and their is only one affordable armor in the whole game as well. (Rune)

That and the fact that all the bosses are easy enough, all but the Corp. Beast. And lack of drops is a bummer. Although the new Rock Caves is a GREAT place to train all skills.

Combat does feel boring most of the time. Slashing and hacking repetitively, the same animation going on and on. I wish they could improve it and make better. I'm glad though it isn't turn-based, having to select an attack every time it's your turn. I can just go AFK/Semi AFK when I do combat in runescape :wizard:.

if u actually stopeed complaining u would enjoy most aspects of combat

Yes, it's bad. I like it more in f2p (p2p just has too many exceptions and spec items), and ftp is simple.

The triangle need balance and combat needs more strategy, just not too much.

I think F2p has boring combat cause the best monsters are lesser demons etc... they are too easy!!!

i can see how combat could be considered boring, especially in f2p. i mean, its not like you get an adrenaline rush every time you attack a dragon, but its fairly entertaining. melee is the worst though, cause its just flashing metal (or whatever your weapon is made of). with magic, personally i like staring at the colors of spells and stuff like that :wizard:
