Ever Get A Song Stuck In Your Head ...

If I know ONE line of a song, it gets stuck in my head. For example, I only know the "Maxwell's silver hammer" part of "Maxwell Silver's Hammer" by The Beatles, so I just have that ringing around my head constantly.

I think the only remedy for getting a song stuck in your head is to get a different song stuck in your head. Then the cycle repeats!

Actually, I always thought it best to just play the song over and over again, until you get sick of it ...

Problem is, I happen to really like the current song stuck in my head.

:wizard:

Everyone around me gets sick of it because I always sing it quietly out loud.

Today it was Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.

I didn't know any of the lyrics except for the end of the chorus.

Smoooooooke on the waaaaaaattteeeerrr.

Dun dun duun. Dun dun dun dun duuuun. Dun dun duuun. Dun duuuuuun.

SMOOOOOOOOOKE ON THE WAAAAAAATTTEEERRRR

DUN DUN DUUUN. DUN DUN DUUUN. DUN DUN DUUUUN. DUN DUUUUUN.

And my friend went 'Oh dats propane nightmares lul'

What's worse is when you have a vague part of a song stuck in your head and you can't remember what the song is.

I'm feeling that right now and I've spent hours today trying to find the song. So far; no success.

I was just about to say this. I hate it when that happens. Fortunately, it's not happening right now.

But if you play it over and over again, won't that song hurt twice as much when you get it stuck in your head again?

Amen!!!! It's bad enough to get any song, quote, phrase or such stuck in your head, but to then agonize over what song it was or where the quote came from . . . :box:

For me if it isn't a song then it is usually some phrase or half-remembered scene from some book. Then I find myself pouring over my literally thousands of books and e-books trying to figure out where it came from if I can't remember off the top of my head. It bothers me if I can't remember and I am like a dog with a bone trying to find out the source.

Maybe just a bit OCD :wizard:

I've done that too (not as much searching as you though), and it gives me huge satisfaction when I, if I, ever find the thing I'm looking for.

I have had Fairytale by Alexander Rybak in my head since March.. :box: (The guy winning Eurovision)

Though i recognise myself in the song too, and maybe sing it inside my head sometimes...

I guess it will be glued there for atleast one more year.. :wizard:

Here is lyrics: (I even remember that... ^_^ Am i crazy enough to join the Hall of Fame?)

Years ago

When i was yo-o-unger

I kinda liked

a girl i knew

She was mine

and we were sweethearts

That was then

but then its true

Im in loooove with a fairytale

even thoooough it hurts

cus' i dont caaaare

if i lose my mi-ind

im alreeeady cu-ursed

Ever day

We started fi-ighting

every night

we fell in love

no one else

could make sa-ader

but no one else

could lift me hiigh above

I dont know

what i was doing

when suddenly

we fell apa-ha-hart

nowadays

i cannot fi-ind her

but when i do

we'll get a brand new sta-art

Im in love with a fairtya-ale

even thooogh it hurts

cus' i dont caaare if i lose my mind

im alreeeady cu-ursed

She's a fairytaaaaaaale yeeah

even though it hurst

cus' i dont care if i lose my mind

im already cursed

Im a freak... :)

Fairytale is like a curse... ( Im alreeedy cu-ursed.. :wizard: )

Another song from AR that is easy to get on your head is "Funny Little World"...

I think so..

Lyrics:

...And i dont know for sure

where this is going

still, i hope for more

and more

cus' who would know tha-hat you

would treat me like a boy

and i treat you like a girl

in this funny

little

world...

A newer song i got on my mind is Cascade - Evacuate the dancefloor, and i also got Boom Boom pow by Balck Eyed Peas.

I wish there was a gadget to delete memories..

More lyrics for Funny little world:

...Dont promise me for ever

just love me day by day

cus' you'll always be a part of me

whatever life will bring

and here you are next tooo me

and im glad or so it seems...
