Neo Avatars Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 A dark house portal has appeared to the south of Falador once again. Tremble as you approach it, for it leads to the house of the Grim Reaper, Death himself! In this year's Halloween event, Death has a problem with an uninvited guest. Choose to help out and you will journey to a realm rarely trod by creatures with only two feet, and converse with its irritable monarch. Completing the event will reward you with two new wearable items – one of which has a mind of its own – so seek out the house of Death...if you dare! We've also created a wallpaper based on this event, which you can download here. Mod John A RuneScape Content Developer Summary: Where to start Web of Shadows:Enter the dark house portal south of Falador. Requirements to complete Web of Shadows: None In other news... We’ve made some improvements to the way banks calculate your free space. Free-players who used to be members will no longer have to dump all their members items to be able to use their banks and everyone can now see their usage in more detail on the interface. For more information, please read the Controls - Banks page. We've updated the bank to make it automatically resize to fit your screen better. The interface will automatically extend downwards to show you more of your bank items. Zahur in Nardah, who's moved to the building east of the bank, will now decant all of your potions (in any combination) into 3-dose vials for you. He charges a small fee for this service to cover the cost of any extra vials needed. We've swapped two tasks in the Ardougne Achievement Diary. The medium diary might look a little odd if you've already completed it, but you should still be able to wear the cloaks for their effects. An auto re-pick feature has been added when harvesting your mushrooms, berries and fruit from Farming patches. When collecting a single item at the Grand Exchange, left-click will now withdraw the actual item and right-click will withdraw it as a note. Withdrawals for multiple items will behave as before. Patch Notes The following small fixes and adjustments have now been made to the game. south630 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 It looks pretty awesome, but I'm having difficulties getting on Runescape. It's telling me I need to restart because the games been updated. I've restarted the game quite a few times. Oh well I have class here shortly anyway

Morty Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Reward in spoiler: "Eek the spider" is a spider you can hold in your main hand and play with, which plays a somewhat cool emote. And the cloak is a cloak with a huge web on it. :o Will be posting pictures soon. Edited October 26, 2009 by Morty
Herty Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 You get a cloak. Thats it. I have to say, the maze thing was the best part. Otherwise it was so boring and simple...
Mohorak Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 There is absolutely no reason to do this quest.
Lupus Flamma V Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) IMO, worst holiday event I've done The reward is a spider you can talk to, play with, and wield and a cape that has no emote and or boosts. ~Wolf Edited October 26, 2009 by Lupus Flamma V
Lambertt Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Will do it later cos i cba to sit through all the lagg. 102 people reading topic Edited October 26, 2009 by -Jimmy-
Caymus Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 The cape is awful looking. The spider is kinda fun though
Mohorak Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Don't do it unless you like wasting 45 minutes on nothing.
Herty Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I have exhausted everything to say with Eek. Well, thats my halloween over.
Mohorak Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 This is what I posted on the RSOF: Awful event. This is a travesty.First, why no emote? We've had a new emote every event for at least a year, right? I could think of 10 ideas right off the bat for emotes related to spiders. Second, why no xp reward? Last Halloween was great because of the xp reward. And it doesn't give an unfair advantage to players because it's based on the level, not a flat amount. Third, why does the cape do nothing? Last Halloween, we got a broom that teleports members to the Sorceress's Garden as well as gave us Magic experience.
Handgunroy Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Anyone got a picture of the cape? Wondering if I should abandon my slayer task to do this..
Herty Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Anyone got a picture of the cape?Wondering if I should abandon my slayer task to do this.. Complete your task and anything else. It seriously isn't that worth it.

Last Halloween, we got a broom that teleports members to the Sorceress's Garden as well as gave us Magic experience. Those rewards were from the halloween quest - this is a holiday event. There's a big difference. Firstly, holiday quests are available even after the holiday season has passed, and they can give exp and teleports and those nice things. Unlike holiday events, which have no requirements, no exp rewards, no gameplay rewards, and they can never be done again after the holiday season has passed. Which is kinda the point. This is what all holiday event were like until last year... Personally, I loved the event, and the rewards were better than many others, even though the cape looked horrible. This is my fifth halloween event, so I've seen quite a few holiday events I can compare this to.

Poor Zynk, what are you going to do? Well, while it doen't affect me directly, maybe my friend will finally get on since quitting members. Cannot do the event yet - the computor I am on is really slow and I would like to do the quest in HD.
