Powerslaying

Written by Doom

With help from: Kemosabe, Rachie, b0b2oo0, Blakie, xr3d3mpt1onx, Special, Goggie, Jethraw, Lol, As

I. Introduction

Powerslaying is a method usually used by higher levels so that they can slay faster and obtain 99 in a shorter period of time. Powerslaying is boosting stats, praying, cannoning, and using combat familiars so that you can finish your task quickly to move onto the next one. Most "normal slayers" usually just go about their task without boosts/combat familiar/cannon/piety.

Some Requirements

 • Money to spend on supplies
 • 85 Slayer Minimum (90+ Recommended)
 • Fairly high Melee stats, recommended 90+ Attack/Strength/Defense
 • Proper Gear (See Equipment Section)
 • 70 Prayer
 • Fairly high summoning level for good familiars

Why Powerslay?

Normal slayers usually manage 12-18k slayer experience per hour, while powerslayers, depending on the task, can get 30-50k experience per hour. Obviously, that's a big difference. Although some think that you lose a lot of money powerslaying, it's quite the opposite. The money you gain from 99 slayer exceeds the money you spend on potions, cannonballs, and other supplies. If you can get 99 slayer almost twice as fast, why not do it?

II. Getting Started

When you powerslay, there are some things that you need to get before you can start, and it's recommended that you buy a fairly large stock of these supplies before you begin:

 • Prayer Potions - These are used for pietying/turmoiling and/or protecting from attacks/deflecting attacks during tasks. The number you use depends on your personal preference. If you use both prayers, you will need more. If you flash prayers (which is a little more annoying, but saves some money), you will need less.
 • Pure Sets(Super/Extreme Attack and Strength) - These are obviously used to boost your attack and strength so you can hit higher and more often. Extremes are going to be better if you can make them and will make a considerable difference. You can use Zamorak brews for tasks you're praying against.
 • A Cannon-Obviously used to cannon tasks
 • Cannonballs-You will need quite a large number of these. The number you use per task varies.
 • Combat Familiars + Scrolls- For speeding up tasks. You should use the highest combat familiar possible. If you have an iron/steel titan, you should use the scrolls which can speed up your tasks immensely.
 • Healing Familiars + Scrolls-For tasks that you need healing on.
 • Beasts of Burdens + Scrolls-For when you wish to keep more items per trip. For tasks like dragons, these are recommended. You only need scrolls if you use a Pack Yak.

Equipment

This stuff will be standard among most of your tasks, with variation here and there.

nmz12x.gif

 • Helmet-You should be a slayer helm only.
 • Amulet-Fury; if you can't afford a fury, you probably shouldn't be powerslaying yet
 • Platebody-Proselyte platebody on most tasks
 • Platelegs-Proselyte platelegs on most tasks
 • Shield-Defender/Dragonfire shield depending on task
 • Weapon-Abyssal whip for most tasks (SS if training strength), with variation on certain tasks
 • Boots-Dragon; Defense/Prayer bonus from bandos boots aren't worth it
 • Gloves-Barrow Gloves from RFD; combat bracelet if you really can't get barrow gloves
 • Ring-Personal preference; You should use Ferocious ring in Kuradal's dungeon, Wealth/Berserker/Berserker(i) are your choice elsewhere
 • Cape-Fire cape is the best, and if you can't be bothered, a Soul Wars cape and Cape of Achievement(trimmed) are the next best for their +12 and +4, prayer bonuses, respectively.

Some Notes

Some people choose to powerslay in bandos due to the extra strength bonus. If you feel that you can spend a lot more money, you're free to do so. You will need more prayer potions though due to the smaller bonus.

<div align='center'>35i4xft.gif

For some tasks, you can use Verac's brassard and skirt and piety alone rather than proselyte and piety/protect melee, thus saving some prayer.

As for the DFS, you should use it on dragon tasks if you cannot make super anti fire potions. You can also use it for tasks that you want to do without protect but need a good defense bonus for.

If you protect melee (and do not need antifire), the Rune Defender's offensive bonus will be better than the DFS.

Kuradal

Since it's recommended that you powerslay with at least 85 or 90 slayer, you should be using Kuradal as your master.

How to reach Kuradal

The fastest way to reach her is through the Ferocious ring teleport. However, if you do not have many, it may not be worth using up many of your charges. The ring's effects wear off when they have no charge left.

The second way to reach Kuradal is through slayer ring+fairy ring. To do this, you need to bring 5 bittercap mushrooms (53 Farming) to the fairy ring located near the stairs leading up to Kuradal. Use them on the broken ring to fix it. Slayer ring requires 300 points to make, so it's recommended you buy this ability and keep a fairly large stock. After you finish a task, you should use the slayer ring's teleport to the Relleka Slayer Caves and run west to the nearby fairy ring. BJQ is the code for Kuradal.</div>

Tasks and Information

How to use this section.

<later>

*Powerslaying with Turmoil/Extreme potions will boost your experience an hour by another 3-5k

Aberrant spectres

Experience Rate: 40k/hr

Cannon: Yes

Location: Smoky Well

Protection Prayers: Magic

Familiars: Attacking or Beast of Burden

Procedure: Teleport to Sumona's dungeon via slayer ring. Setup cannon at the spot(above) and begin firing. Picking up herbs is a good way to easily make back money on cannonballs. You will almost always profit or at least break even on this task. After picking up drops and/or storing it in the BOB, teleport to your house, use a portal/glory to bank, and use the ring to get back. You can leave the cannon firing while you're banking and you will be able to make it back just after it finishes.

Abyssal demon

Experience Rate: 20k/hr+

Cannon: No

Location: Kuradal's Dungeon

Protection Prayers:None

Familiars: Healing

Procedure:If doing them outside of dungeon, use a wealth/warrior/berserker ring. You can find them in the slayer tower or using fairy ring code ALR. If doing them in tower, use a Ferocious ring. Make sure you are on auto retaliate when you fight these. Drink your potions, and use your boosting prayer. Melee prayer for these if you have a bunyip/uni and/or enhanced Excalibur.

Black Demon

Black Dragon

Bloodveld

Experience Rate: 60k/hr+

Cannon: Yes

Location: Meiyerditch Dungeon (Near Blood Altar)

Procedure:

Mithril Dragon

Nechryael

2usk688.gif

Experience Rate: 25k/hr+<Need XP per hour for chinning>

Cannon: No

Location: Chaos Tunnels

Protection Prayers: Melee

Familiars: Attacking

Procedure: If meleeing, head to chaos tunnels and go to the Nechryael room. Drink your potions. If you have fairly high def, you don't need to pray melee if using a healing familiar. However, if you're using a combat familiar that does not heal, you should protect melee. Kill them like normal, with piety/turmoil and use any special attacks of your combat familiar.

One alternative to melee is using chinchompas to kill Nechryaels. If ranging, you want to pray melee/eagle eye. Attack each Nechryael once with a bronze knife, then follow these steps to lure them. <insert pictures later>. After luring them, attack the center of the 3x3 formation. If a death spawn is in the middle, attack that so that you can hit more often (They have lower defense so you're less likely to "splash" with your chinchompas on the Nechryaels). When you have one or two Nechryaels left, switch to your Rune Crossbow with broad bolts and finish them off. Then get your bronze knives, and repeat.

Skeletal Wyvern

Spiritual Mage

This stuff will be pretty standard among most of your tasks, with variation here and there.

(transparency appreciated)

* Amulet- Fury; if you can't afford a fury, you probably shouldn't be powerslaying yet

* Platebody- Proselyte platebody on most tasks

* Platelegs- Proselyte platelegs on most tasks

* Shield- Defender/Dragonfire shield depending on task

I'm trying to say that if you haven't gotten the points to get a Slayer Helmet, like myself.

(If people see your version they might try to tank Aberrant Spectres w/o Nosepeg...)

Cannoning Metal Drags in the new spot in deep wildy is generally accepted now when powerslaying (with zspear+super antifire)

You spelt Nechryael wrong.

Rune Defender is better than DFS in normal powerslaying, and there should be no need for a DFS if you have super antifire (you've mentioned this i think)

I'll get you a fire cape thing tomorrow. :)

Good work so far -.-

Specific Monster Information

Gargoyles

If powerslaying gargoyles, a Saradomin Sword set on Crush is better than a whip due to Gargoyles' weakness to crush attacks.

Nechryaels

Some people choose to chin this task. If doing so, void is recommended. The type of chinchompa is your choice along with the cape slot and prayers.

Waterfiends

You should be using a Zamorakian Spear or Saradomin Sword set on crush here. There are two places that you can kill these. One is the ancient cavern, right next to BJQ fairy ring, or in Chaos Tunnels. If you do chaos tunnels

<Will finish later>

Metal Dragons

Metal dragons are weak to stab. Whips are fine on irons, but on steels and mithrils, you should use a leaf bladed sword + Anti Dragonfire/Dragonfire Shield or if you can make super antifire potions(85 herblore), a Zamorakian spear.

You can cannon these now in the deep wilderness (from The Temple at Senntisten). You can use obelisks to teleport from deep wilderness to lower wilderness and bank/restock at the Wilderness Volcano.

In progress

While powerslaying, be sure to use cannon on skeletal wyvrens and warped torts. IF using chaos tunnels use the best familiar possible with scrolls, and you can get upwards of 200-250 kills/hr (ss and karils). You may also normally powerslay nechies with steel titan, which is slightly faster than chinning. Ancient magics can also be used here.

You will want to make the guide to the extream int terms of powerslaying and have you cannon anything thats possible so then peopel know whats cannonable and whats not. They then can choose if they want to cannon some tasks.

You can cannon Warrped Terrorbirds. Its like 40k slayer xp an hour.

Hell hounds are easily cannonable too in talv

Same with fire giants in waterfall.

This looks really nice so far.

<Will finish later>

Bandos>Veracs>pros

Turmoil>piety

Extremes>Supers

Normal slayers usually pot up, unlike you put in the introduction, this is the only boosts they use.

Bloodvelds are 30k+ xp/hr

Abby demons 25k+ xp/hr

Dark beasts 30k+ xp/hr

Spiritual Mages are 24k+ xp/hr

Gargoyles 25k+ xp/hr

Dust devils 34k+ xp/hr

Fire giants 35k+ xp/hr

Dagganoths 80k+ xp/hr

Specters 45k+ xp/hr

Keep in mind tasks will not usually last the full hour.

Also if your going to finish tasks fast, might want to cannon

-blue dragon babies

-kalphite

-hellhounds

-warped torts

Will add more soon

You will want to make the guide to the extream int terms of powerslaying and have you cannon anything thats possible so then peopel know whats cannonable and whats not. They then can choose if they want to cannon some tasks.

You can cannon Warrped Terrorbirds. Its like 40k slayer xp an hour.

Hell hounds are easily cannonable too in talv

Same with fire giants in waterfall.

This looks really nice so far.

Zamorak Brews are good for tasks where you don't need to eat (Protection Prayer tasks) eg. Black Demons, Spiritual Mages and any other tasks where you don't eat.

Also take into account you should post for them to slay on a high pop. server, for faster spawns.

Can I make a suggestion for the cape slot?

The new cape's from Nomad's Requiem - Soul Wars Capes - give a +12 pray bonus, so would probably be a better choice than skillcapes if available.

Powerslaying
Written by Doom
With help from: Kemosabe, Rachie, b0b2oo0, Blakie, xr3d3mpt1onx, Special, Goggie, Jethraw

I. Introduction
[p]Powerslaying is a method usually used by higher levels so that they can slay faster and obtain 99 in a shorter period of time. Powerslaying is boosting stats, praying, cannoning, and using combat familiars so that you can finish your task quickly to move onto the next one. Most "normal slayers" usually just go about their task without boosts/combat familiar/cannon/piety.

Some Requirements

Money to spend on supplies

85 Slayer Minimum (90+ Recommended)

Fairly high Melee stats, recommended 90+ Attack/Strength/Defense

Proper Gear (See Equipment Section)

70 Prayer

Fairly high summoning level for good familiars

Why Powerslay?

Normal slayers usually manage 12-18k slayer experience per hour, while powerslayers, depending on the task, can get 30-50k experience per hour. Obviously, that's a big difference. Although some think that you lose a lot of money powerslaying, it's quite the opposite. The money you gain from 99 slayer exceeds the money you spend on potions, cannonballs, and other supplies. If you can get 99 slayer almost twice as fast, why not do it?[/p]

II. Getting Started
[p]When you powerslay, there are some things that you need to get before you can start, and it's recommended that you buy a fairly large stock of these supplies before you begin:

Prayer Potions - These are used for pietying/turmoiling and/or protecting from attacks/deflecting attacks during tasks. The number you use depends on your personal preference. If you use both prayers, you will need more. If you flash prayers (which is a little more annoying, but saves some money), you will need less.

Pure Sets(Super/Extreme Attack and Strength) - These are obviously used to boost your attack and strength so you can hit higher and more often. Extremes are going to be better if you can make them and will make a considerable difference. You can use Zamorak brews for tasks you're praying against.

A Cannon-Obviously used to cannon tasks

Cannonballs-You will need quite a large number of these. The number you use per task varies.

Combat Familiars + Scrolls- For speeding up tasks. You should use the highest combat familiar possible. If you have an iron/steel titan, you should use the scrolls which can speed up your tasks immensely.

Healing Familiars + Scrolls-For tasks that you need healing on.

Beasts of Burdens + Scrolls-For when you wish to keep more items per trip. For tasks like dragons, these are recommended. You only need scrolls if you use a Pack Yak.
Equipment
This stuff will be standard among most of your tasks, with variation here and there.

[/p]

Helmet-You should be a slayer helm only.

Amulet-Fury; if you can't afford a fury, you probably shouldn't be powerslaying yet

Platebody-Proselyte platebody on most tasks

Platelegs-Proselyte platelegs on most tasks

Shield-Defender/Dragonfire shield depending on task

Weapon-Abyssal whip for most tasks (SS if training strength), with variation on certain tasks

Boots-Dragon; Defense/Prayer bonus from bandos boots aren't worth it

Gloves-Barrow Gloves from RFD; combat bracelet if you really can't get barrow gloves

Ring-Personal preference; You should use Ferocious ring in Kuradal's dungeon, Wealth/Berserker/Berserker(i) are your choice elsewhere

Cape-Fire cape is the best, and if you can't be bothered, a Soul Wars cape and Cape of Achievement(trimmed) are the next best for their +12 and +4, prayer bonuses, respectively.
Some Notes

Some people choose to powerslay in bandos due to the extra strength bonus. If you feel that you can spend a lot more money, you're free to do so. You will need more prayer potions though due to the smaller bonus.

BJQ is the code for Kuradal.
