hlow
Deep Seated: Book Three: Truths and Lies Three years ago, Seth and Derek were pursued by the notorious gang, the Fraternity of Lost Thieves. After managing to avoid the countless assassins that were sent after them, the brothers - and also their companion, Synit - sided with the white knights in Falador to contribute to the destruction of the Fraternity. Despite the downfall, the gang has returned and appears to have a connection with Seth and Derek's confusing past. -------------------------------- Welcome to the third book of the Deep Seated series. This book probably won't have as many chapters as the previous one (I didn't even expect the second book to last that long), but I'll make sure you readers have your dose of action and drama. By the way, I mentioned this in the other book but, teleportation spells do not exist in my story (like regular ones, not the ones you need from an exclusive spellbook). Make sure you read the previous chapters before reading the newest one, or else I'll report you for racism. Please read and comment! Note: Whenever I'm in the topic for a long period of time, I'm probably working on a chapter. Thanks. Link to book one - SEE HOW MUCH I'VE IMPROVED? Link to book two (summary of first book included here AND character descriptions) Too lazy to read the second book? Don't worry, the summary is in this spoiler! Here's the summary. It may look long, but it's because I summarized all thirty chapters. ALL THIRTY CHAPTERS. So whenever I skip a line and start a new paragraph, that signals the next chapter. Got it? Right below are a few character descriptions I have provided, and I've taken the liberty to sort them between good and evil Good: Seth Skyer- A young 23 year old man that came from the small town of Lumbridge. He has a brother named Derek. While they were very young, their father (who was thought to be a fisherman) had trained them in the arts of sword fighting. However, when they turned eleven, their parents were both killed mysteriously. Seth and Derek were sent to an orphanage, where they quickly escaped from and raised themselves (while still being able to train each other in sword-fighting). By the time Seth had gotten a job at the general store in Lumbridge, they both knew how to fight very well. At that point in time, Seth had been offered a job at a sword shop in Varrock. He accepted and the two brothers moved to Varrock. Seth tends to be very serious and calm. At this point of the series, he's living in Ardougne with Derek and Synit. "Don't say anything. I'm going to beat you so hard for everything you've put this world through that you'll be scared of it." Derek Skyer- Derek is Seth's fraternal twin and is younger than Seth. He is an outgoing, loud and enthusiastic character that enjoys fighting. Much like Seth, he is skilled in the arts of thievery and sword fighting. Unlike Seth, however, Derek refuses to get a job to make money, but instead, chooses to pickpocket from snobby, rich people. "I should've chickened out like Kalex. Is it too late now?" Synit- Synit is also a 23 year old. He met Seth and Derek after Seth found him hiding in his house to escape from the duel arena after one of his alter-egos took his body over and killed someone. Synit's alter-egos are inside of his body, and take over his body at certain times. One of Synit's alter-egos, Tinys, was killed, which brought another alter-ego out, allowing Synit's body to live. When Tinys was killed off, an alter-ego named Sytin was brought out. Sytin is a serious and a quiet fighter, yet skilled. Synit, himself, is a thoughtful, nice and smart. He choose to fight with his eyes closed, because he cringes at the sight of too much blood. Whenever Synit is in deep distress or anger, another one of his alter-egos is unleashed, Tysin. Tysin, who is mildly outgoing, is much more skillful than Synit and Sytin. "My predictions are correct... Zen is already here." Alex- Alex is a 15 year old boy from Rellekka who witnessed Zen's first murder since he was released. He retreated back to his father's boat and sailed off to alert people. "What do you think you're doing? A picnic?!" Lyon- Lyon is a 15 year old archery prodigy from Camelot. He lives by himself and is skilled in the arts of the bow. Lyon tends to be quite grumpy, but sympathetic at times. "This is great, I can take on Zen with full power. Good thing I still have my arrows with me." Sherry- Sherry is an attractive female warrior from Ardougne. She is a skilled fighter and a strong Saradominist. Sherry tends to be enthusiastic about battle. "The bartender was looking at me!" Ashaki- Ashaki is an old magician that was living at the mountain camp. He is very powerful in the arts of magic although he is aging. He is very wise, and knowledgeable. "You're not going to go anywhere with your power! We will stop you. Everyone will." Kalex- Kalex is an experienced rune essence miner and rune crafter. He is said to be one of the fastest rune crafters in Gielinor. Kalex has a moody personality. "It's the cosmic altar, and don't worry, you won't fall. So stop your crying and stand still." Egaru- Egaru is the gatekeeper of the rune crafting guild. He is an experienced magician, particularly in non-combat spells. Nonetheless, his combat is still acknowledged-able. Egaru has a witty and playful personality. "My name is Egaru, I decided to tag along to help." Evil: Zen- The whole villain to the second book. A long time ago, Zen and his brother(Nez) were two skilled magicians(two of the best)born and raised on Lunar Isle. Zen would always attack each other, forcing the two to compete each other many times, with Nez becoming victorious every time. One time, Zen's unprovoked attack on Nez led to the death of a young boy. This angered everyone and Nez, and so, instead of killing his brother (knowing that he would not have the mental strength to do), sealed his brother inside the rune essence mines of Lunar Isle, far away from the village. Zen had been a very angry boy during his youth times, now he had seemed to calm down, but still carried the fury he once had. He promised to have his revenge on Lunar Isle, but realizing that he had the power to destroy the whole world, he went on his evil quest to destroy the large cities of Gielinor. "You're going to have nightmares of me in the afterlife, old man." Avisiath- Avisiath is a dark wizard, skilled in the arts of - well, obviously dark magic. He seeks revenge on regular wizards as they killed his parents, who were both dark wizards. His goal is to destroy Wizards' Tower, with the help of Zen, of course. He has a very mischievous personality. "Try and hit me for once. Come on, you can do it." Melzar- Melzar is a necromancer (yes, the one from Melzar's Maze). He is a Zen admirer, and is able to summon powerful lesser demons from ash. Melzar has a sort of assistance-like personality, and he'll do anything for people that are better than him. He can be cocky at times too. "You mean, Zen? From the myth?!" Zen's minions- Zen's minions are the people he has taken control of. At first, they are shot by Zen's aura beam. This causes Zen's aura to overtake the victim's aura, rendering Zen's control of their body. Once the victim's aura has become one of Zen's, Zen is able to control them at will. The victim's control, however, will never be able to replenish itself as there is no more of the victim's aura to recover. This makes their body lifeless, unable to move and also very pale, almost like a zombie. Basically, the victim's body is dead as it is unable to move. Just picture it like a toy with no batteries; the person being the toy, the aura being the batteries. Without the aura, the person cannot function. "He's not going to snap out of anything. My aura has gotten into his body and is slowly taken it over. Even if I'm dead, he will be dead because he won't have any more aura of his own. He'll just be a useless body." NOW, we can start the summary! In the rune essence mines located in Lunar Isle, a simple miner comes across the grounds where Zen, a powerful magician has been sealed. The miner ends up releasing Zen (out of curiosity) from the mine and is then killed by Zen right after. Later, Zen exits the mine and heads towards town. He kills a guard and finds a scared woman. Zen realizes that he is able to control the woman by shooting his aura at her body. He suggests that he will create an army. A 15 year old boy, hidden behind a small shack spots Zen, and then runs back to alert his father. Seth, Derek, and Synit meet each other on the edge of Ardougne square, where they plan to spend the rest of their lives after leaving Falador. As they converse with each other, a youth pickpockets Derek, which sparks a chase through the crowded square. Derek catches the man, takes back his belongings and lets him go. Seth and Synit join him. They then meet a young boy named Alex (the same one from Lunar Isle) who seemed to be telling people of a danger (Zen's return). Alex tells the three men about Zen and how he was a magician even when he was younger, and had rivaled with his brother, Nez, all the time. The two brothers would fight all the time, and Nez would always win. One day, Zen decides to attack Nez and sends a fire spell that misses and kills a little boy passing by. Nez becomes furious and seals Zen inside the rune essence mines. Alex also explains how Zen has become much stronger due to the fact that all the rune energy from the mines has been gathering and accumulating inside of him, and also the fact that he has gained the ability to control people. Seth, Derek and Synit decide to help Alex, who leaves them and goes on blurting the news to other people. At Lunar Isle, Zen has created an army and has been wreaking havoc on the island. Zen creates a large crowd and sneaks onto the large boat that would carry people away from the island. The overcrowded boat sets sail for Rellekka, leaving many people behind at the island. Back at Ardougne, Alex finds the three men eating lunch quietly. He scolds them and tells them to go to Rellekka. They briefly finish their lunch and prepare to head to Rellekka. The three pack for the trip and head north. As they continue their journey they come across a large building known as the Ranging Guild, which only allows skilled archers in. Seth displays his strength in archery and would be allowed in. Synit then shows his archery skills, which shocks the doorman so badly that he faints. Seth, Derek and Synit walk in (even when Derek has absolutely no skill). They meet a young 15 year old boy named Lyon, who is fantastic in the arts of archery. The calm-minded youth decides to tag along with Seth, Derek and Synit and they all head to Rellekka. They continue their journey north, and take a shortcut through McGrubor's wood. They encounter a group of guard dogs. Seth, Derek, Synit and Lyon fight the dogs and kill them. Then, they leave for Rellekka again. Soon, they arrive at Fremnik Province, noticing that they are arriving closer to their destination. The large ship from Lunar Isle arrives at Rellekka, with all of its passenger taken control by Zen. Meanwhile, the group arrives at Rellekka. Zen and the group encounter each other in the middle of Rellekka's main square. Lyon immediately attacks, sparking Zen's own attack with an aura control. The group warns Lyon that Zen is able to control people if he sends his aura at them. Seth, Derek, Synit and Lyon clash with Zen's minions and fight each other as Zen spectates the battle. Lyon is distracted by Synit's fighting style (fighting with eyes closed), and his attacked by a minion. He is immediately swarmed but a female warrior arrives at the scene named Sherry. She saves Lyon from further damage and fights the minions away. Zen quickly orders his minions to fall back. Seth, Synit, Derek and Sherry are exhausted as Lyon lays motionlessly on the ground. Zen raised his hand and shoots his aura towards Lyon's body. Derek, noticing that the others are to tired, decides to jump in front of Zen's attack and takes in the aura. Seth is angered and prepares to attack again, but is stopped by Sherry. They leave Derek, grab Lyon and quickly retreat. Later, in a forest where they begin to rest again, Sherry explains that she was sent by Alex. Seth is a little grumpy from the loss of his brother... Seth, Synit, and Sherry are eating as Lyon wakes up. The others explain to him about what had happened earlier at Rellekka. Synit, realizing that Lyon has no bow to use offers the use of his own to the youth. Lyon declines and Seth tells Lyon that he will help train him to use a sword. Lyon accepts with a bit of attitude. The group leave and arrive at the mountain camp, where they will stay for the night. The next morning, Seth and Lyon get up early to sword fight. Seth gives Lyon a couple pointers on stance and defensive maneuvers. They scrimmage with each other a couple times for Seth's lesson. They reunite with Synit and Sherry, then return to the tent. They begin to wonder how they will stop Zen, and is then interrupted by an elderly Saradominist (like Sherry) named Ashaki. The man explains to them an idea where they may have a good chance to stop Zen, and that is to reincarnate his brother Nez to stop him. He also tells them that they will need to split up into groups. One group goes to get the ancient staff needed for the spell. The other group goes and obtains the required amount of runes for their reincarnation spell. Ashaki explains that they will need 500 astral runes, 1000 cosmic runes, and 100 law runes. He tells them that it will require lots of money just to get these runes, and therefore they are going to find the skillful runecrafter known as Kalex. He tells them they will also need an ancient staff, which can be found at the Bandit Camp in Al Kharid desert. The group decides that Seth and Lyon will be the group to obtains the runes, while Synit, Sherry and Ashaki will be the other one to acquire the ancient staff. The five say their goodbyes and finally part ways from the camp. Meanwhile, Zen arrives at Ardougne. As he is wreaking havoc, Alex is killed through the midst of Zen's destruction. Zen is at Ardougne square, in search of a necromancer. He meets a dark wizard named Avisiath, who decides to help Zen on his quest to obtain a necromancer. Avisiath explains to Zen that he knows a necromancer named Melzar and to get to him quickly would be to take a boat to Port Sarim. And somewhere around Sinclair Mansion... Seth and Lyon head east to the western gates. Meanwhile, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki are fighting trolls in the troll stronghold since they are planning to cross through that area in an attempt to reach the eastern lands faster. Zen and Avisiath take a large boat that is able to carry all of his minions to Brimhaven. They arrive at the port of Brimhaven and begin their attack on the island. Seth and Lyon have just recently arrived at Catherby and continue their journey through the serene village. They take a shortcut through White Wolf Mountain and spot the large western gates ahead of them. Soon enough, they arrive at the gates and cross through. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki exit the troll stronghold, but are still in their territory. They are attacked by rocks being thrown from trolls on higher cliffs. Meanwhile, Seth and Lyon arrive at Falador and immediately Seth talks with Sir Amik Varze. Seth introduces Lyon to Sir Amik Varze, and then begins to tell the story about Zen... Finally, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki are out of troll territory and are in the eastern lands of Gielinor (while Seth and Lyon are in Falador already. What a waste of time!) Zen and Avisiath have taken a boat from Brimhaven and are on their way to Port Sarim. Avisiath begins to tell Zen about his life. He explains how he lived in Burthorpe as an only child and also no friends (therefore he was very lonely). His parents were dark wizards and trained him in the arts of dark magic. They sent him to Dark Wizards' Tower to train, but when he finally arrived back home, he figured out that his parents were killed in a magical feud against normal wizards. Avisiath explains to Zen that he wants to kill wizards just to avenge his parents and implies that Wizards' Tower may be a good place to start for him. He persuades Zen to help him destroy Wizards' Tower, but only after they find Melzar. Seth finishes telling Sir Amik Varze about Zen. Sir Amik Varze lets Seth know that he will prepare for Zen's arrival and tells the two that Kalex may be at Wizards' Tower (runecrafting guild). Seth and Lyon leave through the southern gates of Falador just as Synit, Sherry and Ashaki arrive at the wilderness ditch... Zen and Avisiath make it to Port Sarim with the decision of finding Melzar, then destroying Wizards Tower. Rain begins to fall above Gielinor as Synit, Sherry and Ashaki are on their way to retrieve the Ancient Staff. They find shelter in the Black Knight's Fortress, which doesn't seem to be a good idea. Black Knights discover that they have some mischievous trespassers and begin to attack the group. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki fight the black knights, but as they are in combat, Synit feels a little change in him as a large amount of blood comes through his helmet. He immediately changes into Sytin, who puts the battle on his shoulders and quickly defeats his enemies. After the battle, the three take a long rest. Sherry, who was astonished and amazed at Sytin's battle, compliments him with admiration. Seth and Lyon finally arrive at Draynor Village as Zen (and don't forget his minions) and Avisiath are on their way to Melzar's maze. As Seth and Lyon are in Draynor Village, they meet The Wise Old Man. He tells them that Kalex is indeed in Wizard's Tower and that he will even offer them some information on Zen. He gives the duo an old, out-of-shape, damaged book that is the Journal of Nez. He also gifts them with a flask containing a liquid that gives them invulnerability to magic if they drink it. Seth and Lyon enter Wizards' Tower. They arrive at the second floor, where the entrance to the runecrafting guild is. The wizard doorman doesn't allow Seth and Lyon to enter, so Seth proceeds to tell the wizard of Zen's story. Zen and Avisiath enter Melzar's Maze and meet the necromancer himself. They confront each other briefly until Avisiath tells Melzar about Zen. Meanwhile, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki decide to head to Barbarian Village in an attempt to take a boat along River Lum down to Al Kharid. It has reached nightfall in Gielinor while Seth and Lyon are pleading to be let into the runecrafting guild. They fight with the doorman a little, but know that he's very powerful and they cannot stop him. A man then stepped out of the portal who turns out to be Kalex himself. The wizard doorman asks Kalex for his address, thus helping Seth and Lyon find him later. Seth and Lyon understand, and then follow Kalex to his house. They then begin to tell him the story about Zen. Back at Melzar's Maze, Melzar has constructed a few lesser demons. Zen explains that he also had a deal with Avisiath to destroy Wizards' Tower. Realizing that it is already too dark into the night to sail, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki decide to go to Varrock and stay for the night. They stay at the Blue Moon Inn, but there are only two rooms; one with a queen-sized bed and one with a single bed. Synit and Sherry decide that they will stay in the queen-sized bed room, and Ashaki in the other single-bed room. Synit and Sherry have a little romantic mishap in their rooms. Then, they sleep for the night. Seth and Lyon are meanwhile sleeping in Kalex's house as Zen, Avisiath, and Melzar stay at a house in Rimmington (after raiding the place). The next day, Seth, Lyon and Kalex wake up and prepare to go to Wizards' Tower. Kalex explains to Seth and Lyon about his plan to use the Abyss in order to runecraft their items in a shorter amount of time, as back at Varrock, Synit Sherry and Ashaki are eating breakfast. Also, Zen, Avisiath and Melzar have just woken up and are on their way to Draynor Village. Meanwhile, Seth, Lyon and Kalex have arrived at Wizards' Tower and have just teleported to the rune essence mines. They begin their tough job. Meanwhile, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki take a boat from a station just south of Varrock. The man working there tells them to stop at Lumbridge Station and warns them to not go any further. They begin their journey through the river. Seth and Lyon continue mining rune essence. Kalex appears with a friend, Egaru (the doorman of the runecrafting guild). He also brings along many rune essence pouches to keep their items in. About half-an-hour passes and the winds begin to pick up, clouds begin to form, and rain begins to fall, which will be causing a lot of trouble for Synit and the others as they ignore their recommended stop at Lumbridge Station. Zen, Avisiath and Melzar cross through the bridge. Zen leaves his minions behind at the front of the bridge as they continue across until finally arriving at the tower. Zen commences the attack with a fire wave that burns a wizard into ashes. He orders Melzar to make demons out of them. Zen and Avisiath enter the building, wreaking havoc to all the wizards they encounter. They burn much of the tower until realizing it is going to crumble. They hurriedly exit the tower and reunite with Melzar. The tower finally collapses, killing everyone currently inside and the wizards in the basement (including Sedridor). The Wise Old Man, looking through his telescope, spots the destruction of the tower and decides to serve justice to the evildoers responsible. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki crash through the rapids of the river through the stormy weather. They are about to pass through a dangerous rocky drop, and decide to use an inclined, flat rock as a ramp to avoid the dangers below them. They catch some airtime before finally arriving on a peaceful, slowly drifting water. They were out at sea, but without any paddles now. They accidentally drift onto the shore of a small island. They get out, drag their damaged boat with them, hoping to find somewhere to stay. Seth, Lyon, Kalex and also Egaru have been working for a long time now. They are finally finished their job and they stuff their bags with pouches filled with rune essence. They step through the lit portal and begin their teleportation back to Wizards' Tower. The Wise Old Man arrive at the Draynor side of the bridge, and is confused about the group of minions standing there (he thinks they are just normal people standing around). Meanwhile, Seth, Lyon, Kalex and Egaru arrive back at Wizards Tower. They end up being teleported onto the remains of the tower and gaze in terror at the mess. Kalex spots Zen, walking away in the distance. Egaru, who is furious, wants to attack Zen right out of aggression. Seth tells Kalex to hide, but tells the others to follow him. The Wise Old Man confronts Zen and attempts to attack. Zen then uses his minions to fight for him, forcing The Wise Old Man to kill them. Back at the tower, Seth and the others find Melzar and decide to hold him hostage. They bring him to Zen who forces Melzar to his side with telekinesis. He briefly scolds him on getting caught. Zen sees Lyon and shoots his aura at him but Seth tackles Lyon out of the way. He begins to get impatient and then shoots his aura at The Wise Old Man, who begins to become taken over by Zen's aura. Zen then starts to walk away, ignoring the others. Seth is angered, and notices his brother is still in the middle of the group of minions. He is determined to stop Zen and retrieve Derek. The other realize his helplessness and they all begin to attack. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki have crashed their ship onto Tutorial Island, an island that runs a program that trains soon-to-be swordsmen to gain the skills they need to survive in the wild. They visit the bank and meet the financial advisor of the island, and he tells them to go south and they will be able to see the bandit camp. Meanwhile, between the fight on the Draynor bridge, Zen begins to retreat with his minions. Seth, Lyon, and Egaru are able to retrieve Derek's body and they keep him from running away with Zen. Egaru, skilled in the arts of aura, is able to remove Zen's aura from Derek's body, who finally returns to his original self. Seth, who was very emotional at the time, introduces Derek to everyone and tells him what's going on. Finally, the sun peeks through the clouds. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki depart from Tutorial Island with a new set of paddles. Back at Draynor Village, the group decides to head to the Abyss. Lyon, noticing that something had sparked Seth to fight stronger and more aggressive during the battle, asks what happened. Seth concurs that it might have been his determination, and whispers to himself that 'he might just be like Synit.' While Zen and the rest of his gang walk through the forest and prepare to attack Lumbridge, Avisiath is able to decipher our heroes of the story's plans. He notifies Zen about it, who ignores the statement completely. With a couple more minutes passing, they arrive at Lumbridge and attack the small village. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki are at the Bandit Camp now and they enter the local bar. The bartender tells them that the ancient staff is in the building right next door. They enter the building, not knowing that this is an anti-Saradominist camp, and they have just entered a building filled with anti-Saradomin bandits (Sherry and Ashaki are noticable Saradominists). Although the group refuses to fight the bandits, they are forced to in order to protect themselves. They fight the bandits and defeat them, asking them where to retrieve the ancient staff. Meanwhile, Seth and the rest of the group are walking passed Draynor Manor, heading to the destination. Seth begins to read the Journal of Nez... At the bandit camp, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki have just recently obtained the ancient staff, a key piece to stopping Zen. Back at Lumbridge, however, Zen and the rest of his crew have finished destroying the village of Lumbridge, and plan to attack the castle itself now. Zen orders his minions to do with work for him and fight with the knights in front of the castle. Zen, Avisiath and Melzar simply walk out of the brawl and rest for a moment. Avisiath tells Zen to consider what he told him before and questions Zen on what he'll do after he destroys all the cities. Zen, who is annoyed of Avisiath's nagging, tells him to shut it. Zen, realizing his minions are being killed off, decides to go and help them. But before he could do anything, most of the minions are killed and guards quickly retreat into the castle, placing an anti-magic spell on the doors. Zen, knowing that they only placed the spell on the doors, creates a whole in the wall with an earth spell and they finally attack the indoors of the castle. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki decide to go to Wizards' Tower, hoping that the others may be there. Seth and the others are at Barbarian Village, and stop at the local restaurant as a checkpoint. They do their business in there, and leave after Lyon has a brief altercation with Gunthor, the drunk barbarian. Zen, Avisiath and Melzar search through the castle, looking for the duke of Lumbridge, while killing many people. They are unable to find him and soon, they check the basement. They find a crack in the wall and Zen realizes that the duke has retreated to Doorgeshun. Meanwhile, Seth and the rest enter the Abyss. They are immediately greeted by many creepy monsters and fight them off, while making an entrance into the cave of portals. Zen, Avisiath and Melzar capture the duke, and then kill him, while Synit, Sherry and Ashaki head for Wizards' Tower. Seth, Derek, Lyon, Egaru and Kalex leave the abyss, knowing that they aren't even able to take a portal to the astral altar. Instead, Egaru takes the group to his friend at the monastery who is able to teleport them there instead with a spell from the Lunar Spellbook. Also, he gives them an amulet of glory to teleport back to Edgeville. Just as Synit, Sherry and Ashaki pass through Turorial Island and are their way to Wizards' Tower, Zen and his group arrive at Varrock. He quickly manipulates and takes control over many of the villagers there, forcing them to become his minion. He spots King Roald atop the Varrock palace and begins his attack (with the help of a couple of Melzar's demons). However, he orders his minions to stay in the city and kill anyone that enters the city. The group previously on Tutorial Island are able to get to Wizards' Tower after a brief but romantic occurence between Synit and Sherry. They find the tower to be totally destroyed and burnt to the ground. They confront a couple people at Draynor Village, who tells them that Zen had attacked it and there were no survivors. A villager also tells them that Zen was going to Lumbridge. Synit, however, knowing that the burnt marks were old tells Sherry and Ashaki that he was probably already finished with Lumbridge and is now at Varrock. Meanwhile, Zen, Avisiath and Melzar search through the first two floors of the castle, figuring out that no one was there. But, they are able to find people atop the roof of the castle, and kill them. However, though, none of the people they found was King Roald, who a guard they had murdered on the roof had told them that the king had retreated to Falador. Seth, Derek, Lyon, Egaru and Kalex have completed in making a rune with 500 astral charges and now they teleport back to Edgeville with their amulet of glory. Next, they are determined to get to the cosmic altar. And with a dozen minutes passing, Synit, Sherry and Ashaki are able to find Varrock and realize that the city is destroyed, with Synit's predictions being correct. They quickly fight the minions that are attacking them. A body is thrown off the roof of the palace by Zen, and falls near the battle at the Varrock square, where Synit and the others are at. They find out that Zen is atop the roof. With a few minutes passing, they realize that the minions, all of a sudden, stop fighting and run towards the palace walls. Zen, Avisiath, and Melzar stand in front of them. They groups exchange looks between each other. Finally, the group obtaining the runes arrive at the cosmic altar from the abyss. They finish runecrafting their cosmic rune, and now are on their way to the law altar, but not from the abyss. At Varrock, Ashaki makes a remark about Nez being stronger than Zen, who becomes jealous and gets a flashback of all the memories he had with him. He is angered, and Zen performs a powerful spell with the strength from his rune powers. He releases a powerful beam that forces Synit, Sherry and Ashaki to run back. They are able to narrowly escape the spell's power. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki go back to Varrock square to meet up with Zen again, who forces his minions to attack once more. Synit, seeing that Zen has begun to walk away from the battle in order to get to Falador quicker, decides to follow him. Zen sees him, annoyed, and prepares to shoot his aura towards Synit. Zen sees Synit with his aura vision, noticing that Synit already has two different auras within him, which throws him off his guard a little, allowing Synit to get close enough to attack. Synit attacks, but Zen blocks it and Synit retreats back. The three fight are forced to fight the minions, and Zen and the other wizards immediately leave Varrock. In soon time, Zen, Avisiath and Melzar are at Falador. Sir Amik Varze immediately spots Zen and surrounds him with his white knights (anticipating that Zen would come to Falador, because of Seth's warnings). Sir Amik Varze is killed, and the other knights and burnt in order for Melzar to use his necromancy powers. Meanwhile, Seth and the rest of the group are on the island of Entrana and have recently runecrafted all the law runes they needed. They are ready to go back to the mainland, along with some new weapons Seth recently purchased. Back at the white knights' castle, Zen and Avisiath continue to wreak havoc, using white knights as minions. And outside, Melzar continues to cause destruction with his lesser demons. Zen and Avisiath find and kill King Roald, signaling a successful victory against Varrock. They exit the castle and find that Synit, Sherry and Ashaki have just entered the city of chaos. Seth, Lyon, Derek, Egaru and Kalex take a ship to a beach nearby to Falador. They hop off the boat, and continue their journey towards Falador, in hopes to find someone that may know where Zen is. Synit (who had actually turned into Sytin at the time), Sherry and Ashaki continue fighting the minions. Sytin is hit with Zen's aura rays, while Sherry sees and becomes emotional. However, instead of Zen's aura taking over Sytin's body, it attracts another split personality into the scene. Sytin turns into Tysin, who is much more powerful. Zen, realizing that Sytin had not been taken over by his aura, leaves with Avisiath to go to the southern part of Falador. Seth and the rest of the gang have just arrived at the southern gates of Falador (however, Kalex has gone as he realizes he's done everything to help them. Egaru has stayed with them, though). Tysin, Sherry and Ashaki attempt to follow Zen, but at the same time, are forced to fight his countless white knight minions. Seth, Derek, and Egaru are fighting at the southern part of Falador while Lyon shoots arrows from the top of a tall building (after Seth had gotten him arrows from Entrana). Zen, Avisiath and Melzar are together now, and they watch the southern group fight his countless minions and dozens of lesser demons. Zen goes into his aura vision and sees everyone's aura. He notices that Seth had two different kinds of aura, the very smaller one growing a little. Synit, Sherry and Ashaki finish with the northern side and find Zen, and Seth's group. The two meet up together and begin to conduct the resurrection spell. They are able to resurrect Nez, and quickly brief him on the situation. Nez helps kill the white knights as Ashaki follows Zen, seeing that he was deciding to escape but ends up being hit by Zen's air wave. Seth, Derek, Sherry, Tysin, Egaru and Nez finish killing the enemies down south, and find Ashaki to be dead. The group confronts Zen, Avisiath and Melzar. Nez, who was a little hesitant about whether he could kill Zen or not, tries to reason with him. Zen refuses to stop his destruction, and Nez is forced to attack, still a little unsure of what to do. Because of this, he is killed by Nez almost immediately. Egaru, realizes that all their hard work was put to none, angrily attacks Zen out of aggression. He soon finds out that that was a noob move, and is hit by Zen. He is knocked unconscious, but is still alive. Zen, seeing that there isn't many of them left and is a little annoyed of them, sends a barrage of fire waves towards them. They bring Egaru's motionless body to safety, but Sherry is hit by a fire wave. Now, it is Seth, Derek and Synit left to stop Zen (Lyon is somewhere... don't you worry!). The two proceed to fight, three-on-three. Zen fights Synit (who before has finally confessed his love to Sherry, and is furious that she was hit), Avisiath fights Derek, and Seth fights Melzar. I recommend you read this chapter because the fight scenes are pretty intense. And if you're too lazy to read it, Seth kills Melzar (with the help of his hidden power! Oh boy!), Avisiath and Derek are knocked out, Synit is knocked unconscious. Lyon comes into the battle (they had left the poor boy back at Falador), and fights Zen. Zen is able to injure Lyon, and then has a chance to take control of him. Seth sees Lyon get hit, causing a little more of his hidden power to be unleashed. He then goes on to attack Zen, but is interrupted by an arrow from his former companion, Lyon. Okay, it's the last chapter. I recommend you read it! Seth, knowing that there is no time to keep himself from killing Lyon, is forced to fight. Zen explains that once his aura has taken over a body, the body will be useless because no more aura of that person's body will be intact unless fixed so by a spell. Seth, who still had the emotions and feelings for companions, but the determination to stop Zen, kills Lyon. Seth, whose guilt has now begun to bring out even more of his hidden power, gently puts Lyon to rest just as Zen shoots his aura towards Seth. Seth gets up from Lyon's body and he's instantly hit. However, there seems to be no effect. Zen, who seems to begin think of Seth is a nuisance, uses all his energy and forms it into one magical beam of power. He shoots this aura attack towards Seth, who begins to run backwards to get to his bag. The aura beam hits Seth, literally rendering him from sight through the large beam of power. As the powerful aura shot begins to fade away, Seth reveals to be standing and is holding an empty vial of anti-magic liquid given by the W.O.M. Now that Zen is fatigued because of his high-energy-required attack, Seth begins to fight. He kills Zen with all of his power from his hidden abilities. After Seth makes sure Zen is dead, he falls to the ground, fainted. THE END. Yeah, Zen was a real Johnson. He did all this because nobody liked him back at Lunar Isle. What a loser! EPILOGUE: Everything is good in the hood with Gielinor now. Cities are being repaired as people that have fled from their cities come out of hiding. Royalty have risen up to take their new places as kings of cities. Seth and Derek move back to Varrock in search of a new life (still, nobody knows about their doing in Zen's death). Synit and Sherry now live in Falador, with Synit as the new leader of the white knights. Egaru and Kalex continue their lives in Draynor, helping rebuild the Wizards' Tower. So now, everything is running smoothly in this land, hooray! ...and Seth still doesn't know what the **** happened to his body when he fought Zen. Anyway, I now present everyone with the... Prologue: It was midnight in Gielinor. The land was making a slow, but efficient recovery from Zen's attack. The stars lit up the sky in beauty, and the moon stood still, placed in the middle of the dark array of lights. There was going to be a new beginning for this land… refreshment. It was a similar situation for the Fraternity. Royius sat comfortably in the seat of the leader's office of the Fraternity of Lost Thieves headquarters. His feet lay crossed around each other atop the wooden desk, and his palms were resting on the back of his hands. This figure seemed to carry a playful nature, but at the same time, its eyes were alert and serious when needed to be. He had short, dark brown hair and a handsome face. "It feels good to be at the top," Royius said, smiling to himself. "That damn Steven was definitely not a great leader. I mean, what kind of leader declares war on a huge city just to kill two people?" He reached his hand over to the top of his desk and grabbed a slip of paper. He examined it, his eyes following the words that were written on it. "It's a good thing he wrote this." Royius snickered at the paper. "Because now I have my first assignment as leader of the Fraternity." He laughed again. "These brothers named Seth and Derek, huh? They certainly sound interesting; why would anyone in the right mind want to kill them?" Royius muttered. The door to the office crashed open. Royius stood up from his chair abruptly, ready to scold the man rudely trespassing into his room. "Sir," the man started before letting Royius talk. "We've spotted the brothers." Royius paused, and sat back down with his eyes drawn to the slip of paper. "Now, I'm about to make them even more interesting." Helm Lardar
Yes, I like the prologue, it seems varied and interesting. I wonder what Seth and Derek did? However, there is one thing that confuses me: a comfortable castle-in the wilderness? Aren't they worried a revenant could pop in at any time? They can walk through doors, you know, and they are immensly powerful!
-CoSMIC Gears-
I'm actually still pondering why the Fraternity is still bent on the destruction of Seth and Derek. However, the prologue was indeed enjoyable, and I look forward to the first chapter :) I found one error: Royius stood up from his chair abruptly; ready to scold the man rudely trespassing into his room. The semi-colon should be a comma. Again, good luck in Chapter 1! Cheers! -Wabbit Edited April 25, 2010 by rabbitfuzzy0
hlow
This is an important bump. Chapter One: Competition The land of Gielinor; a large, vast area filled with many people, cities, creatures and of course, danger. The place had once been wreaked of havoc by a powerful magician, who was known as Zen. He had been sealed away in the rune essence mines of Lunar Isle until he was accidentally released. Eight brave warriors united together and fought against this man and were able to stop him before Gielinor was surely set on a doomed trail. All of these warriors ignored the fact that they were heroes, and just continued on with their lives as normal people... the ones that they originally wanted to fulfil but couldn’t, all because of one oppose. After the death of Zen, the evil magician, the land of Gielinor was severely damaged. Cities were destroyed; dozens of people had their lives lost, and it was all because of one man... Nobody knew if Gielinor would recover. Luckily though, it was recovering perfectly. People immediately chipped in to help heal this ravaged place. Towns were being rebuilt, people beginning to step up as new leaders, children with lost families being taken care of... it was all going well. A year and a half later... things were pretty much set for Gielinor. Things were running on track. Cities, people, the economy, everything was just fine. Yes, thanks to the people of Gielinor, things were being recovered. But the real recognition was deserves to our great heroes, who didn’t ask for anything in exchange, but a better life for everyone that lived in this peaceful land. To be even more exact, this wouldn’t have happened if it hadn’t been for three open-minded men, who decided to take a challenge, and ended up saving the whole land. And so, they got what they wanted; a normal life. However, anything big could happen to them, even when they just didn’t expect it. In the large town of Varrock, in the small back alleys, Seth and Derek raise their swords once more and attack each other again under the clear morning sun. The two twenty-three year old brothers’ blades clashed against each other, erupting in sounds of metal carving imprints into each other. Seth took a few steps back into a defensive sword-fighting position, his blade standing sideways, with his two hands tightly gripped around the hilt of his sword. He had long dark-brown hair, with bangs thrown to a small tilt. Any look into this skilful swordsman’s dark-brown eyes would radiate the fact that Seth was a very serious man and that anything you would say would not normally be taken as humour the first time. Derek, on the other hand, didn’t even take a step back. As a matter of fact, when reacting to Seth’s step back, he quickly charged forward, showing one word to all that gazed at him; aggressiveness. Derek was loud and he knew it himself. He had black fair hair and dark-brown eyes, just like his brother counterpart. The two brothers, continued with their scrimmage. Precisely, but elegantly at the same time, they placed slashes and swipes at each other. You can obviously tell that these knew their way with the sword, and could easily take out opponents individually and even better when they are together. The two fighters gave one last hit with their blades against each other until they finally took a few steps back, and gasped for their breath again. Both of them smirked as they stared at each other. “Good fight,” Seth murmured to his brother. Derek nodded as a response, his smile increasing in size a little. “You want to eat lunch now?” he asked Seth, pointing to his home which was right in front of them. “Sure,” Seth answered, still gasping a little. The two turned towards Derek’s door but stopped as a voice boomed at them, “Bravo,” it said. The voice had belonged to a man with short blond hair, who had been leaning on the side of a shack the whole time they had been fighting. He clapped his hands together and giggled a bit. “You guys were just fantastic.” “Thanks...,” Seth replied slowly as he and Derek stood there. “Have you been watching us the whole time...?" "I have," Blake stated, "You two seem to be very skilled. Instead of fighting with each other, have you ever wondered if you could fight together? I mean, side-by-side?" "We have," Seth simply answered, "Many times." He surveyed Blake's appearance a little. "Who are you?" “My name?” the man questioned, pointing to himself. “My name is Blake, and I am a fellow swords-man like your selves.” Before the two could even say anything, he continued, “I couldn’t but catch a glimpse of you two practicing. I came over here once I saw your skills.” He paused for a brief moment. “I was wondering if both of you would enjoy some competition...?” He smiled mischievously. “I’m up for some competition!” Derek broke out enthusiastically. Seth stared at him for a moment and then spoke, “What kind of competition?” “Sword-fighting competition,” Blake quickly responded, “It’s a two-on-two. I think you guys would be perfect to enter.” “I don’t know...,” Seth murmured, “I’m not much of a competitive guy.” “Oh, Seth,” Derek whispered to him, “Seriously, we haven’t gotten any sword-fighting action since Zen got here. And I’m honestly not going to keep sword-fighting with you each and every morning. This will be good for us; it’s a change.” “Alright...,” Seth muttered, sounding a little unsure, “I guess it’ll be okay...” “Great!” the blond-haired man spoke with a large grin. “I’ll tell you what; I’ll meet you guys here tomorrow at dusk. I’ll then lead you guys to your competition area.” “That sounds good to me,” Derek said, already excited. Blake laughed a little before finally walking away, with his hands dug into his pockets. “I don’t know about this,” Seth said with unease, “How come I’ve never heard of any competition going on in this city?” He looked the dirt on the ground a little. “This is sounding really weird to me. He's just a man we've just met too. How can we even trust him? We also don't even know where this place is and it could be very dangerous...” “Seth,” Derek began with a serious voice, “You don’t need to worry. Maybe this might be a bad idea, and he might be planning to mug us or something, but come on; we’ve gotten ourselves out of plenty of tough situations so we’ll obviously be able to handle anything bad out of this.” Seth had a nervous look on his face. “Look, Seth, there is a reason we’re training with each other every day, and this is that reason!” Derek yelled, “I mean, do you want to be like Synit? You know; get married and spend the rest of your life with your boring, nagging wife?” “You know, Derek,” Seth interrupted, “I doubt Synit will like that you insulted his wife, nor will Sherry like it either.” “I don’t care, man!” he answered, throwing both of his hands in the air, “They’re living in Falador now; they can’t hear me.” “Fine,” Seth said, “But if anything goes wrong that gets us into trouble, I’m blaming you.” “Don’t worry,” Derek smiled at his brother, “Let’s go eat now! Not at my house though, we’ll go to The Blue Moon Inn. I’m paying!” "And you should know, Derek," Seth started, "Synit's the new leader of the white knights. He is bound to get some good sword-fighting action." Derek laughed, "Especially when his wife can destroy half the men in this world." The two began to stroll to their destination with Seth still keeping an uneasy look on his face. He knew something was not right about this competition, but then again, there was only one way to find out. hlow
Finally. Chapter Two: Survival A beautiful navy blue sky floated across the city of Varrock, displaying the graceful occurrence and exhibited that is was now dusk in this land. Seth and Derek stood at their meeting spot that they had been told to go to just yesterday when they were approached by a mysterious man named Blake. "Honestly, Seth," Derek began, jittering from the excitement of actual competition, "No need to be unsure about this. We can handle it if things go wrong." Seth didn't respond for a brief moment, but then opened his mouth to speak, "He barely gave any details of the place. I mean, we don't know how many people will be in this competition, nor do we know where it is, and what kind of environment we will be fighting in." "Well, Seth," Derek assured, "We shall see what it's like once we get there!" He smiled, laying his hand on Seth's shoulder. All of a sudden, a voice spoke, "Hello, you two." Seth and Derek quickly reacted and looked in the direction it came from. It was Blake, "How are both of you?" "We're excited," Derek laughed, not allowing Seth to speak, "Let's head to the competition now!" "Boy, aren't you eager?" Blake muttered, "Alright, follow me." The three men began their walk to the competition area, walking through mysterious alleyways and unusual shortcuts over walls and such. Seth and Derek continued to trail quietly behind Blake. "So are both of you from Varrock?" Blake said, not even looking back. Seth and Derek looked at each other for a second and continued to walk. "We're both from Lumbridge, but we moved to Varrock. It's because we're brothers." "I see…," Blake murmured, "Well! Here we are." He stopped after they walked in between two buildings. He put his hand down and grabbed a hold of a manhole cover and pulled it off with ease. "The competition is in the sewers," Blake said bluntly, "Please head down with me." He climbed down and motioned for the two brothers to follow. "Still think this is legit…?" Seth whispered to Derek, who was now a little unsure about this. "Why is this competition sewers?" Derek questioned, his voice beginning to sound hoarse. Blake turned around and stared at the two brothers. "You guys have nothing to worry about. You will not be robbed, mugged or murdered. Both of you are two skilled fighters. If I wanted to rob two people, I would've brought two wimps. Now, come with me." He smiled. They climbed down together and dropped onto a hard gravel ground. They were in a very large, but empty room. There were a couple puddles and pipes running along the walls and some doors that led to who-knows-where. They walked through and saw Blake, who gestured for them to follow. The three of them walked through a couple hallways. They passed by more doors and through the brick-filled walls of this mysterious place. They stopped once they arrived at a door, and Blake took out a key. Seth and Derek could hear cheering and noise. He jabbed it into the keyhole and twisted it. From there, the man simply pushed the door open. They ended up a very, very large room filled with crowds of people, all spectating a fight between two swordsman inside a square cage with iron bars surrounding it. They headed to a desk separated from the crowd. A roughly-bearded man sat behind it, who had a large two-handled sword inside a sheath that was wrapped around his back. "Blake!" the man behind the desk said, with a tough smirk, "Who are these guys?" "These guys are the brothers I was talking about, Nicputer," Blake answered, "They want to fight." "Hey!" the man yelled, a little annoyed, "If you call me that again, I might just have to bash your head in!" "Sorry," Blake replied, laughing. He whispered to Seth and Derek, "That's Nick. A mildly... important guy in this place." Nick grunted, his voice was rough, "Hello, boys. I'll be looking forward to seeing you two fight, and in the future." He laughed very loudly. Seth nodded quietly and looked at Derek, who was actually feeling a bit better about this competition. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. "Follow me, guys," Blake said, smiling, "We're going to watch the current match." The three walked towards the crowd and once one person saw Blake, the rest noticed too. They quickly made way for the three to walk through. Seth could tell they were a little afraid of this man. They stopped as they got to the side of the cage, which was a little bit above the ground. Seth, Derek and Blake stood quietly, waiting for the match to start. A man in a nice suit stood in the middle of the ring, with two men standing on one side, and two on the other. "We came just in time…," Blake said, grinning largely. "Begin!" the man in the suit announced and then ran through the exit of the cage. On the left side of the cage were two men, dressed in armour and armed with steel swords. They were a little uneasy about their matchup for some reason. On the other side were two males that seemed to look almost in their teenage years. They both carried very emotionless faces and they wore nothing but normal clothing to this event. Both of them had dark-brown hair and eyes. One of them carried a scimitar while the other had a dagger in his hand. The one with the scimitar had short hair on the sides, which faded into more hair atop his head. The boy with the dagger had a full buzz-cut, leaving a very sharp look on his face. Seth and Derek both noticed that they had scars on their left hands in the design of crossbones. The two were very surprised, as they began their fight, their mouths couldn't even move as they watched the two youths fight their opponents with grace and skill. "The one with the dagger is Rapid, and the one with the scimitar is Talent," Blake explained, his eyes laying very closely on the fight, "Or at least that's what we call these brothers." "Who is we?" Seth quickly replied. Blake instantly looked at Seth and assured, "Us. Everyone in here, that's what I mean." Seth nodded suspiciously and continued to examine the fight in amazement. He could tell that these two knew how to fight and that they worked very well together. One of their challengers swiped a sword at Rapid, but quickly dodged it and manoeuvred himself with great speed to grab the hilt of his attacker's, and then twisted, causing him to flip in the air. Then, Rapid moved out of the way and moved away as Talent jumped off his own opponent and slashed his scimitar into the stomach of Rapid's previous opposition, who cried out loudly. Talent quickly spun around and gave a strong kick to the face of Rapid's current opponent, who ducked in order to avoid any contact with his brother's attack. Rapid then swiped at his opponent's chest, releasing a large gash that spurted out of blood. Finally, he gave the final stab and his attacker fell to the ground. He grabbed a hold of his dagger and pulled it out slowly. The two of them, who were facing away from each other, both staring at the bodies on the ground that lay in front of them, slapped their weapons together behind their backs, signalling victory. And at that, the crowd burst into cheering at Rapid and Talent, and also the blood that lay around their victims. Seth and Derek stood there, silently. There was no tap-out, no surrender, and most of all, no mercy in this tournament. They knew that if they were to win this tournament, they would have to kill their opponents. "What the hell…?" Seth muttered to Blake, "What is this place?!" "I'm sorry, but," Blake began, shrugging, "This is the tournament. You fight until the death." "You never said anything about this!" Derek added angrily, "This isn't even legal! And you're forcing young people like those two into this. Who are these people?!" "These people…," Blake said, cracking a small smile, "These people are part of the Fraternity." Seth and Derek's eyes opened wide in surprise, until they were forced through the ring's entrance. The two attempted to push back, but everyone around them had forced them into the ring. They turned around, staring at the ring's entrance hopelessly and knew they couldn't run out now that the door was shut and locked. Then they looked at Blake, whose smile was a lot bigger now. He was joined by another mysterious man. Blake stood casually, his arms wrapped in front of his upper body. He noticed the man beside him instantly and questioned, "You've actually decided to come and watch?" Seth and Derek stared in front of them, right into the eyes of their opponents (probably two members of the Fraternity too). The bodies from the previous match had just been cleaned up, but the blood stains still existed. They knew there was only way to get out of this alive… and that was to kill. "You didn't watch the last match with our young captains," Blake stated bluntly. "This is different," the man responded, his eyes carefully examining the two brothers in the ring, "Now these are the two brothers I really want to watch." "Of course," Blake smirked, "I wouldn't want to miss this either, Royius, sir." Edited December 8, 2012 by hlow
Fake
This chapter was good; I really liked it. It had a very good build up to the next chapter and it gave a great description to how ruthless and pitiless the fraternity really is. Keep it coming, Halloween. hlow
Haha, thanks Buland. It actually took me a couple weeks to write that summary. Chapter Three: Concealed Cheers, yelling and chanting erupted from inside the tournament room. Everyone had come in here for one particular reason, and it wasn't just to watch people die. It was a reason that Seth and Derek were unaware of, but it was the Fraternity. Seth and Derek stood inside of the fighting cage; their opponents stared into the back of their eyes. They already discussed what they would have to do to survive; they had to kill, but it just didn't seem right to them. This was illegal. "Come on," one of the oppositions taunted, "I'll let you guys have the first blow." Seth and Derek glanced at each for a moment, and then tightened the grips around the hilts of their blades. Seth nodded in approval; they were going to fight. And so it began. Blake watched in awe as the brothers gave graceful, yet powerful and aggressive blows to their opponents. Wounds were appearing left and right each time the two brothers' blades came across their skin. The mischievous leader of the Fraternity stood there, a smile stretched across his face. Royius examined the two brothers, primarily Seth and his actions, his face and his emotions. His hands were in his pockets, fondling with certain stone objects that lay in there. Seth and Derek gave the final swipe of their blade to both of the opponents. As bloody wounds and puddles surrounded them, they dropped to the ground, motionless. The two brothers didn't know what to do. Derek was silent, for once. He faced the ceiling of the place, his eyes disgusted at what he had done to these two men. "Oh god, what have we done?" Derek moaned, his head facing upwards. Seth, on the other hand, felt like he had a sense of accomplishment, a sense of pride and power amongst him. Certainly it was no negative feeling, but why was he feeling this way? Normally, he'd be feeling a lot worse than Derek. Seth's morals and standards were definitely not lower than Derek's; what was making him feel this way? "It's alright, Derek," Seth said, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder, in an attempt to display a little sympathy, "We did what we have to do to survive." "Alright," Derek yelled at Blake, ignoring Seth's remark, "We fought, now let us out now! This is just goddamn wrong!" Blake briefly glanced at Royius, who had his analytic eyes carefully placed on Seth. "What are you thinking?" Royius paused for a moment, thoughts going through his head. "Send in more men," he responded, a little eagerness displaying from the tone of his voice. Blake looked to the opposite side of the cage and then pointed at the two. Seth and Derek looked away from Blake, and to the other side of the cage as the door opened. Five more people came into the ring and the cage door loudly shut behind them. "I can't do this, Seth…," Derek muttered with helplessness, "This isn't legal. We could be jailed, or maybe even executed if someone finds out we have done this!" "What do you expect?" Seth responded ignorantly, "This is a tournament. You can't win without any bloodshed." "We need to get out, Seth," Derek spoke with sincerity, "Now." "There is no way out," Seth mumbled back. He sprang into action, dashing towards his opponents, a small creeping smirk slowly gaining from his face. He felt different, more aggressive, more expressive, more powerful… sort of like he was getting to feel like when he killed Zen, only he had passed out before his actual power kicked in. Derek, although realizing that Seth was right and that there was in fact no way to avoid their situation, stood there, frozen. He was still unsure. Seth spun around, his blade carving wounds into the stomachs of his five opponents. He stabbed his sword into the stomach of one opponent. Letting go of the hilt, he clenched his fists and socked them into the faces of two opponents before kicking another one in the stomach, who kneeled over in pain. With three bodies on the floor, one bent over, hurt, his untouched opponent raised his dagger and attempted to throw a swipe at him. Seth skillfully grabbed the dagger-wielding opponent's arm, and jerked it backwards. He cursed as Seth pulled the dagger out from his hand, whipping his opponent on the temple with its hilt. The swordsman then twisted the dagger upside-down. After ignoring his most recently attacked victim drop to floor, he turned around and then stabbed the last kneeling opponent in the back of his head. Seth raised his fist in the air triumphantly, signaling his victory. "I have won!" Derek just looked at him. He was more scared, then angry but that was only because he had never been angry at his brother before. It would take something more than this to become furious at his blood-relative. He couldn't say a word. The crowd had not done anything after the match ended. The cheering had stopped, leaving only silence in the room. They had frightened looks on their faces. They didn't move a bit. They were all part of the Fraternity of Lost Thieves, so they knew who these brothers were. They were not surprised at the dead bodies, they were surprised about how they became dead. These members were told about Seth and Derek, known as the two brothers that greatly contributed to the ending of the first Fraternity. They even knew about Synit, the dagger-wielding genius that enters combat with his eyes closed. But still, they were surprised. Seth casually strolled over to one opponent with a sword through his stomach, grabbed a hold of it, and pulled out his bloodied blade from the dead body. He looked around at the five bodies on the floor, and then at the blade of his sword. He gazed at the crimson red liquid that stained his sword. "This colour," Seth whispered, examining the blood with an evil passion, "It's beautiful." The silence was then broken as Royius brought his hands up from out his pockets. For a brief moment, everybody in the room froze, but then as he brought them together and applauded, Blake began to clap as well. Soon after, the rest of the Fraternity members cheerlessly joined the two, along with the two brothers, Talent and Rapid. "Give it up for these two brothers!" Royius hollered, a grin across his face. The crowd began to cheer, voices sounding and whistles screeching around the room. He walked towards the cage entrance. "What happened to you?" Derek questioned, with a terrible look on his face. Seth stared back at his brother. He saw the helplessness and the frightened look. The feelings he had previously had during the fight had completely disappeared. Guilt was the only emotion that had flooded his mind now, the pride and aggression had vanished. He frowned and slowly backed away from the middle of the ring, his eyes gazing at the blood on the floor. Then, the cage door opened behind the two brothers and Royius stepped in. The Fraternity leader simply walked over to Seth, and delivered an extraordinarily powerful blow from his fist to Seth's temple, not even allowing a stumbled Seth to dodge it. Seth lay on the floor, his thinking knocked right out of his head from the quick attack. He could see as that he was now being carried out of the ring and away from his brother. With a blurry vision, he observed Derek being hit with a strong earth spell, knocking his brother to the ground, unconscious. He wanted to make a move, but he couldn't. Seth realized that he had a bind spell cast on him. With the pain from the hit beating on the side of his head, he simply closed his eyes and thought to himself that he may have to prepare for the worst. -CoSMIC Gears-
Very good chapter hlow. :( I'm wondering if Seth has become like Sytin. I'm thinking some traumatic event with Zen may have triggered this...? Here are some mistakes I found: Letting go the hilt, he clenched his fists and socked them into the faces of two opponents... It should be "Letting go of the hilt..." That's all I could find... It's really good so far, but I really think you let Seth and Derek get captured too much. True, the capture/escape ploy can be pretty intensive, but I don't think you should overdo it. I like your fight scenes. They are very delicious like Buland and Fake's fight scenes. I am drowning in the buffet of fights with yumminess. :D So, I'm not that good of a final rater. In fact, I suck at marking things on a scale of 1-10. Oh well. 9.3(repeated)/10 -Wabbit
Fake
I really liked this chapter, can't wait till Synit is reintroduced! Congratulations and keep it coming!
hlow
Fake- He's indefinitely part of the story. He's going to make sort of a contribution to help solve the plot in this story... Rabbit- I'm just going to go ahead and say that it has nothing to do with Zen. Something happened back in the first story that changed him (more specifically his blood). :D
