Mining/smithing

Question

Looking to train my mining/smithing up to level 70. I want to level Smithing by making steel platebodies which I will eventually high alch, and I need something like 10k steel bars to smelt to get to 70.

My questions are:

1. Where are good spots for mining coal and/or iron and then banking? (I'm p2p)

2. I know a good choice of anvil is the one south of the east Varrock bank, but where is a close furnace to bank?

Thank you (:

1. There's a 3 spot iron ore mine near the legends guild not too far from the Ardougne banks. You can use the coal carts to get coal or the mining guild.

2. Al kharid is pretty close to a furnace, as well as Port Phasymatys (or however it's spelled lol), Edgeville if you completed the Varrock diary, Falador, and Neitiznot (if you completed or start the Fremmy Isles).

For mining and banking iron you have 2 quite good options.

1) Mining at dwarven mine and banking at Living rock caverns (just down the rope)

2) Just north of Ardougne monastery (requires Ardy cape for teleport to be efficient) banking with duel rings.

Method 1. requires populated world as there are only 2 rocks next to each other.

1) There is also a 3 spot iron rock place south of piscatorus fishing colony.

2)Closest furnace to a bank is port phasymatys. Second closest is Edgeville.

To mine coal, the mining guild can not be surpassed. With about 30 rocks, how could it???

It can be found in falador. See this guide for more information. For iron, mine at the varrock south east mine. There are 4 iron rocks, and it should not be crowded at ALL.
