O hai im KAMIL Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 So what is your internet plan? ( How many gigabytes you can use per month ). Mine is 170GB Broadband which is INRCREDIBLE! I only use about 2/3 of the 170GB and the speed is lightning quick! Quote
Kemosabe Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 10GB a month. Mega FML, compared to your 170. The stuff I'd do with 170. I have to watch myself when using the internet because it really sucks when we cap. :) Quote

Kwinten Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I think I have 50GB per month. Not that good when there's 4 to 5 people using it. Speed is decent, I'm happy with that. Quote
mr n3wb Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I have no download/upload limit. Download speed for me at max is about 360 kb/s, pretty meh. I can also upload at like 100 kb/s. verizon is meh Quote
Scary Food Item Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I don't have a limit that I know of, but I don't download torrents or porn, and I don't think I've ever downloaded more than a couple gigs in a month. Comcast gets decent speeds. Quote

Comcast gets decent speeds. You don't actually need to press a 'download' button to download data. You can easily go over 1GB in a day or so intensively browsing (mostly Flash-based) websites or streaming (HD) videos. Quote
Real Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Limit of 25gb per month, which isn't very good for a family of 6. Quote
Veni vidi vici Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 We don't have a problem with that, because our ISP doesn't go by monthly data. They go by the speed of our connection, not the data usage of our broadband. We have, I believe a 25MB/s connection, shared over a 360, our desktop, 2 iPod Touches and my laptop. It is pretty good, although it isn't as fast when my brother is on, the itouches are usually off or not connected, and the desktop is usually idling, so my brother and I get to share a 25MBs connection (via a cheap linksys 54MBs router), almost every day. ~Vincent Quote
Mr Summers Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 15mb/s download with no caps. We don't have internet caps here. Quote
Emo Nemo Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Well used to be no caps but Comcast implemented a 250gb cap last October. So about 18mb down/5mb up and 250gb cap. But its not bad since I generally only use about 5 - 10gb a month on average. Quote

Guest Chunk Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 100gb I think, I just went over the limit this month, $2 per gb that we go over. Quote

As Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I have 50GB on peak (12am - 12pm) and 70GB off peak (12pm - 12am). I used to have 7GB this is so much better. As Quote
20000_Posts Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Unlimited I would think...I do a lot of downloading and have never been stopped. 300kB/s download is too slow for me, though. It's either that or the 600kB/s which is better but still, I wish we had faster here. Quote

Which means we can barely download anything, because most of our cap is just used from browsing or playing games. Quote

The lowest Ive had is a 25kb/s, about 6 years back. We had copper cables back then too. Everything is Fiber Optic now Quote

Actually there is a lot of different fiber implementations in current broadband networks the problem is besides Verizon the US we don't really have any true 100% fiber ISP's. I believe ATT and Comcast are Fiber to the node but not to the house. Australia isn't fully fiber optic either. You guys just passed a deal for a total fiber rollout but at the time being Australia unfortunately is on copper for the most part. Edited June 26, 2010 by Emo_Nemo Quote
Mr Summers Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 We've been rolling out Fiber Optic for the past 4 years, but this February everything changed. With the Olympics in town we had a massive boost in all sorts of communication, mainly being cell towers and fiber optic networking. Quote
