I am assuming that you don't have a lot of cash to spend. So, this is what I would stick with:

Rune full Helmet

Rune Platebody

Rune Platelegs

Dragon Scimmy

Rune Kite shield

Amulet of Strength

Ring of Wealth

That is just a basic set up to train melee. Once you get 70 Defense and 70 Attack, then you can start saving up your money for this, or any other options people have.

Verac's Helmet/Slayer Helmet

Verac's Skirt

Verac's Brassard

Abyssal Whip

Rune Defender

Amulet of Strength (t)

Warrior's/Berserker's Ring

That is just my opinion and a nice little set to start out with. The most expensive thing on that list is the whip, and that is 4Mil. I would recommend sticking with a Dragon Scimitar until you can afford the whip. So, If you have a good 1Mil on hand, I would sell your platebody, only if you have enough money for the brassard. Then I'd sell your platelegs, only if you have enough to get the brassard and the skirt. Then you sell your helmet if you can afford the Verac's Helmet and so on. If you want another barrows, then use this to check all the other stats of the Barrow's Brothers.

I would say this:

Zerker

Glory

Rune Plate

Rune Legs

Rune Boots

Rune kite or Obby sheild

And get 60 mage and do mage arena for god cape.

Verac's Helmet/Slayer Helmet

Verac's Skirt

Verac's Brassard

Abyssal Whip

Rune Defender

Amulet of Strength (t)

Warrior's/Berserker's Ring

Melee:

Helm = Neitiznot > Berserker Helm > Warrior Helm > Dragon > Rune

Amulet = Fury > Glory > Power > Strength

Body = Bandos > Dragon > Torso > Granite > Rune

Legs = Bandos > Dragon > Rune

Boots = Dragon > Bandos > Rune > Climbers > Adamant

Gloves = RFD Gloves (Rune+) > Regen Brace > Other RFD Gloves > Fam.Crest Gaunts > Combat Brace.

Ring = Berserker > Warrior > Wealth > Life > Explorer's

Weapon = D Scim > D Long > D B-Axe > Any other Dragon Wep.

Shield = Rune Defender > Obby > D Square > Granite > Rune
