So, Quit ages ago to play World of Warcraft, but Cataclysm isn't looking too good for casual raiders so I think I may get back into RS.

 

Anyone wanna tell me what has changed since I left? I quit just before dungeoneering release.

And the damage per minute, that's probably the biggest.

These updates will make it hard for pures.

ye dude, i quit a while ago too just getting back into the game and i'm so damn confused at the stuff i see, new items and stuff driving me nuts. but ye as far as i can see the biggest changes are the new damage thing don't even know how it workks but i guess defence is stronger now..some how ...thank god i'm almost maxed melee.

I have a 1 def 1 prayer range str pure. will this update cause problems for f2p pvp for me?

No idea. But if it shuts up all the people who say "WAH, WAH, COMBAT TRIANGLE UNBALANCE RRRR FIX LMAEGEX" then I'll be happy.

 

I appreciate that the triangle is unbalanced, but I don't like it when people are annoying about it.

I too have just returned from a long break (about a year or so), and to be honest I've not noticed too much difference. Few new items here and there but nothing that drastically changes/enhances the game (though admittedly all I do is slay). If I were you, I'd just log in and go do some things that interest you, take it from there and slowly learn about the new features.

I don't actually know, but I'll hazard a guess that they removed all the towns and just made 1 extremely long road that you can walk (OR RUN?!) down and when you get to the end, you win the game.

 

Either that or that update's not out yet.

I agree 100%, this is ruining runescape. They should re name it because its barly the game it use to be :D

If you guys cant accept forward progression then don't play a game that has weekly updates :(. It can't stay the same forever. If you don't like the game, quit and go play something else, rather than moaning about how it's not the same anymore.

 

Some things:

Dungeoneering

Hp is now constitution and it is 10x higher

Damage soaking

 

Those are major changes, and there's little updates here and there that you will have to see for yourself :D.

More to do in Rs. Like diversions and distractions, they're always fun. Dungeoneering is challenging so give that a try. Oh and it's harder to get bored. So yeah, I advise getting back to runescape. :D

Just came back to RuneScape after qutting WoW also. With the recent news of old wilderness/free trade making a possible return, I'd say that the future looks good.
