Rufus should have been unbanned.

Anyway,

Undertow-Tool

Aenima-Tool

Lateralus-Tool

Also a GREAT punk/post-hardcore band is Silverstein. I HIGHLY suggest everyone give 'em a try.

I couldn't help but laughing at this.

Crazy Town, RED, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Deftones, Three Days Grace, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Gorillaz, Hollywood Undead, Muse, Moby, 30 Seconds to Mars, Weezer, Skindred, Sum 41, System of a Down, Good Charlotte, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Evanescence, Nickelback, My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Dead by Sunrise, Puddle of Mudd, Richard Cheese, Coldplay, Slipknot, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Chronic Future, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Ill Nino

You don't need to suggest 90% of these bands. Almost ever 11 year old girl knows who these bands are.

f you like metalcore, The Word Alive, Oh Sleeper, Haste the Day, Underoath, and The Devil Wears Prada.

Underoath maybe. Rest, no.

If you like crunkcore, Family Force 5.

Wtf is crunkcore....

If you're into love songs but you like post-hardcore and metalcore, Hawthorne Heights.

Just no...

I bought the new Parkway Drive album Deep Blue, and after a couple of listens, I find it amazing. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Also, anyone else excited for The Devil Wears Prada's new Zombie EP?

The Devil Wears Prada maybe one of the most generic post-hardcore/metal bands i've ever heard and/or known. Some of Parkway Drive's older albums were tolerable though. You must not delve very deeply into metal seeing as all you suggest are mainstream bands.

Hey guys, I found this awesome band called Radiohead. I don't know if anyone here's heard of them (they're pretty obscure), but I like their album Ok Computer.

Are you being sarcastic? Radiohead is a very well-known alt rock band (with previous progressive influences on their first few albums like Ok Computer). I have heard Paranoid Android, which is an awesome song, from Ok Computer.

Jedi Mind Tricks, kind of an unknown rap group, atleast not big. They have some good songs, i suggest Animal Rap. It's much harder rap then most, and a little bit then Eminem.

Crazy town-maybe in 2000 so 21 year old girls, oh and only one of their songs

RED-most people don't know these especially not 11 year olds

Breaking Benjamin-alterative rock isn't really popular with young girls

Linkin Park-didn't know your age group like nu-metal

Deftones-not really appreciated by the young

Three Days Grace-look at Breaking Benjamin

Foo Fighters-prefered more by people around my dad's age

I really cannot be bothered to continue so just look at the list, none have any real kind of impact on the charts recently and when have you last heard a 11 year old girl tell her friends to turn off Bieber and put Slipknot on, it just doesn't happen.

Also have some rescpect for others tastes not just mine, I may dislike metalcore and crunkcore and stuff like that but I don't go around trolling on forums and mocking their tastes.

Final word I don't like tool HA

Mainstream isn't a preference for music; it's an ignorance of it.

This is one of the 10%. I respect this band.

Breaking Benjamin-alterative rock isn't really popular with young girls

My sister got me into BB when she was about 13.

Linkin Park-didn't know your age group like nu-metal

Nu-metal, wtf. It's got rapcore and alternative rock. First band I heard. Was introduced to LP when I was 12.

Deftones-not really appreciated by the young

Exception here, part of the 10%.

Three Days Grace-look at Breaking Benjamin

Same as what I said about BB.

I really cannot be bothered to continue so just look at the list, none have any real kind of impact on the charts recently and when have you last heard a 11 year old girl tell her friends to turn off Bieber and put Slipknot on, it just doesn't happen.

Justin Bieber has arguably more talent then Slipknot, so it would make sense to choose Bieber over Slipknot.

Realism isn't trolling.

Talk about trolling. Don't make decisions without even listening to bands please.

I never said that I only like mainstream metal. Show me some non-mainstream and I'll happily listen to it. It's only ignorance if I refuse to listen to anything else.

Eh. It's not all I listen to, but I like plenty of mainstream music. It's kinda immature to just reject all mainstream music because it's popular. Maybe you could say that it's ignorant to listen to mainstream music without being willing to branch out to anything else, but that's true for whatever kind of music a person likes

cjgone nowhere did I say that I have not listened to Tool, I have and didn't really like them. I think your sister is one of the 10% that likes alternative rock.

Linkin Park is Nu-metal well Hybrid theory is:

The lyrics of many nu metal bands focus on pain and personal alienation rather than traditional heavy metal themes. Tick

Some nu metal bands use seven-string guitars over traditional six-string guitars. 7-string guitars, which are sometimes downtuned to increase heaviness, resulted in bass guitarists using five-string and six-string instruments. No for this

Some nu metal bands feature a DJ for additional rhythmic instrumentation (such as music sampling, scratching and electronic backgrounds). Tick

Nu metal fashion can include baggy shorts, body piercings and tattoos. Tick

Show me a Nu-metal band that utilises 7-string guitars please. Really, the only genre which commonly uses 7-string guitars is progressive (a favorite of mine).

Cliched lyrics.

I don't really listen to metalcore, but a progressive metalcore band comes to mind.

Icarus Lives - Periphery

Maybe even, technical metal band, Between the Buried and Me. This is more of my musical interest.

@cjgone: Bro, Periphery is amazing.

But I prefer Mansoor's original work such as

Icarus Lives was the only good vocal one, probably because it was written with lyrics and vocals intended >_<

Yess it's so good. They're having a concert near me soon with some other metal bands but I don't know if I will be able to attend, unfortunately...

Yeah, it's the only song where the vocals seem to add more than they take from the music. I like the instrumental passages on their other songs though and I have not heard much of Mansoor's older work yet.

Some good bands here. Isn't Five Finger Death Punch a rock band though? You must have heard of Wintersun if you know who Ensiferum is?

Yeah Death Punch is more rock, but I like their new album a lot. And yes I like Wintersun also . Also, Trivium is an epic band.

Power/Heavy Metal:

Iced Earth- mostly stuff from "The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part II" But alot of their older stuff is good too ("Something Wicked This Way Comes", "Burnt Offerings", "Night of The Stormrider", "Days of Purgatory")

Yeah, i'm not a big fan of Trivium. Their first album wasn't to bad. Crusade or something, really despised that one.
