Arianna Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Why the hell are you a Hawks fan? I DON'T HAVE TO JUSTIFY MYSELF TO YOU! ;_; Now excuse me while I wait for the sweet embrace of death. Also, I can't hold myself responsible for choices made while I played minibasket ;_; Plus you're Italian so you can choose any team to root for except the Lakers, Heat, and Celtics, and no one will care.Heh. :D I doubt anyone would care even if I rooted for any of these three teams. Sadly, Italy's not too big on basketball. Edited May 13, 2011 by Arianna Quote

Doom Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 well one thing i can say im happy about is the mavs in the finals. the series was kind a bummer for me with all the blowouts between what i thought would be closer series. but i hope that the mavs get their ring this year, nowitzki, marion, kidd, they all deserve one before their careers are over. We already sweeped the Lakers, so this will just be a perfect season if we can sweep the Heat as well :D Quote

I think a lot of people are rooting against the Heat, not for the Mavs. There is a huge difference. Also, isn't the Miami bandwagon a little crowded? Miami is just an arrogant team built around superstars. The Mavs have one superstar, and are much more team oriented, which I like. Quote
Doom Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 3 superstars has been enough to get them this far in the playoffs which is the sad thing, and it's going to be like that in the future of the NBA. It happened in boston(although allen/pierce/garnett aren't as big of superstars as lebron/bosh/wade) and now its in Miami. The Knicks started building up a superstar roster and with howard/paul in the free agency in 2012, there's the possibility that more teams will focus around getting multiple superstars rather than builiding a team with solid role players Quote
Lunar Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 The mavericks have a super strong bench and the heat don't, to state the obvious. Because the bench is such a factor in these games, and since the heat don't have a very good one thanks to superstar salaries, the mavericks should pull this off. Quote
Richman99 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 This series could go either way. Personally, I am a Heat fan, and have been one for many years, before Lebron and before their championship win in 2006. Everyone said the Bulls would win, because of their bench, and similar comments are being made for the Mavs Bench. What was the difference for the Heat against the bulls was their final lineup- the lineup that they had hoped to play from Game 1 against the celtcs: Miller, Wade, Lebron, Bosh, Haslem. That was the vision of Pat Riley, and now it has finally reached form. Can these 5 start together? No, because of the acquisiton of Bibby, but this will be very formidable group. If Lebron guards Dirk, Dirk will have problems, and no one can deny that. Quote

If Lebron guards Dirk, Dirk will have problems, and no one can deny that. I will, Dirk is too tall for LeRecedingHairline, if he doesn't get position he wants he can always shoot over him with that unguardable fadeaway, Bron would get in foul trouble trying to D him up How will Miami rebound? The Mavericks have 3 7 footers and one of the best rebounding guards of all time, Mavericks will own them 99% of the time the cHeat play isoheroball, with Bron or Wade, they drive down the lane, travel (not called), and get bailed out with a call. All their other points come off turnovers with the Mavs rarely do with JKidd playing the point, the only time they will get turnovers are when Dirk is passing out of a double. If 1 of the cHeat's big 3 have a bad game it's over. Their bench is lol worthy, you know Erick Dampier sucks when he can't even be activated for the Heat. The cHeat do have the refs in their back pocket though. Edited May 29, 2011 by Cuteass Alec Quote
