Hyrax
I'm big on alt hip hop like Subtle, Busdriver, Dälek, Themselves, El-P, etc. Also love stuff like J Dilla, Del, Dan the Automator, Madlib, Doom, Atmosphere, etc. Also big on classics like Jurassic 5, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Beastie Boys, etc. I really love trip-hop and breakbeat too, that often displays elements of rap and hip hop. F2P Nate
I'm still into my oldschool tupac, biggie, puff, mase, nas, mobb deep, fugees, bone thugs, KRS, busta, jay-z, ll cool j, mark morrison, outkast, snoop, warren g, west side connect, wu-tang, common, all those artists. I'ts a dead genre to me these days, i don't get along with the new "ricky ross" stuff with the same tired old beat, they're not showing me anything new or different. With the exception of that kanye clone bubblegum clothed protege cudi, who can actually belt out a few decent songs, and jay-z whos sticking close enough to his style for me to still maintain a level of respect for him, at that age to still be representing, i don't have much love for any of the other artists these days, and yes that includes the ever so bipolar artist eminem, used to love his work, but now he just seems to be on this whirlwind of a path with his music that i don't understand anymore - which one are you marshall? the funny guy, the angry hateful guy, or the guy who wants to dedicate his songs to saving the world? Doom
Blu AZ Brother Ali Shad Madvillain Lil wayne and drake and eminem were always terrible to me. Kanye's alright as long as he doesnt do verses on pop songs. Late Registration and College Dropout were great. MBDTF was pretty good as well but if you're looking at great sampling, the former 2 are the better ones. I hardly listen to anything that's come out in recent years from a lot of people because the majority of it is just garbage. Redi
Camp Lo, Cannibal Ox, Deltron 3030, JR Swinga, Exile, Little Brother, DOOM (and all his variations), Mos, Quas, Solilaquists... I could go on for days. Glad to see there's a pretty good sized fanbase here in Sal's :D Of course I have to keep it real and say I do enjoy the occasional Rozay or Flocka album. No prejudice here.
