Easl Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Can a rule be put in against wrong answers, not opionated wrong, actual answers that are statistically wrong. It's annoying me that lots of users don't seem to know what they're talking about, and a verbal should be given for this ignorance, maybe 2 and then warns should start going :D Let users realise they're making mistakes with answering questions, but if they keep doing it, give them a punishment :(

Just let them know that they are wrong and then they probobly wont make the same mistake.
zooey Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 The majority of false information is corrected later on in the topic.. I don't see a problem with it, as long as it isn't malicious. :D
Eye Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I'm with the above two posters, there's no real reason for this and it's just not "fair". It's a pretty fuzzy line between someone saying something they thought was true, and someone saying something they know isn't true, and I just don't think it'd ever be right to punish someone for saying what they think is true. As for stuff like "CTRL+ALT+DELETE AND DELETE SYSTEM32".. maybe some warns on that. :D
Easl Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Try to be helpful Step closer to a ban It's not try to be helpful, it's people giving advice they seem to know nothing about :D Anyone seems to be one of my pet niggles, this can be shut
Ambo100 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Punishing members for trying to be helpfully will certainly negatively impact new members. Members should only be punished for deliberately posting false answers, like suggesting someone to 'Take the Wine of Zamorak whilst your holding all your wealth in your inventory' as well as questions that break Runescape rules. I.E. 'The quickest way to get 99WC is to bot'
