Who Do You Think Is The Best Singer?

Recommended Posts

I like both but I think Freddy Mercury's voice was really unique and incomparable.

So yeah Freaddy Mercury imo.

As in quality of voice, or overall performance?

Judging without a partial attitude to either of them, I'd have to say Freddie Mercury. He had a better range and tampered with so many different styles of music. Having said that Michael also pretty much founded what we have as music today and even before then. But Michael just wasn't quite as flexible. For instance, I think I've only ever heard Michael go deeper than his usual in two songs.

I believe that the idea of a good singer is subjective, like music itself. I have favorite singers though, and I judge them based on their range and tone combined. Michael Jackson, Robert Plant, Ronnie Winter, Alex from All Time Low, the guy from The Maine, I'm not good with names but you know.

You don't have to decide between the two of my favourites. If that's what you're doing.

Personally, if I can go off of one song, Celine Dion has a magnificent voice when she sings My heart will go on. So if I may go off one song, then her. I believe Adele has a great voice, mainly because I know she doesn't tune her voice, as in make it the perfect pitch, it naturally is good. Michael Jackson(from the jackson 5) had a great kid voice.

Paul Mcartney(sp?), I always enjoy his voice.

So my list would be:

1) Celine Dion

2) MJ from the J5

3) Adele

4) Paul

THESE ARE NOT MY FAVORITE ARTISTS, JUST THE GOOD SINGERS.

Singer != Writer

John Lennon wrote awesome songs, but, to be fair, his singing wasn't quite as orgasm-inducing as Freddie's

Out of your two, I'd go with Freddie

Male - Mikael Åkerfeldt

Female - Tarja Turunen

Male Death - Mikael Åkerfeldt

Female Death - Angela Gossow

Black Metal - Quorthon

Rap - Immortal Technique

Covered the basics there :D

Maybe Aretha Franklin.

Rolling Stone begs to agree.

Can't really narrow it down but James Brown is just too sexy.

Since I never leave Rap songs unless I hear something good, I'll just let this be known.

Nas is a king.

Thanks

Yes, that is my name :wizard:

At the risk of being shot, Susan Boyle's voice really is sent from the heavens imho.

But Michael Jackson outshines everyone for me, hands down.

Maynard James Keenan

Freddie Mercury

Note, this was from the Activision E3 event last year, hence the Guitar Hero characters in the background. This is the best thing that they have ever done.

But ya, Freddie could hit low bass notes and high soprano notes. He could even pull of tenors. This guy was insane.

Out of the two Freddy Mercury

That said Michael Jackson's music doesn't do anything for me, so I might be a little bit biased. That said, I'm not the biggest fan of Queen ever.

I don't actually know who my favourite singer would be. I just tend to know if I like a voice if I hear it.

Funny watching a guy styled after Abbath singing Queen

Just backing up my previous points, in the likely case that no one bothered to check them out :D
