Fishing Icon Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Seen the Skyrim video on YouTube some guy made about the trailer and how he always overreacts to them? Pretty hilarious!
Keegan Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Should I buy oblivion? I will be getting it for the Ps3 (Since I hear there are differences depending on the platform). I've never played an Elder Scrolls before but I generally like RPGs. Also, I'll be buying it for $30-$35 or whatever Gamestop has it as.

I'd imagine prices would be similar for PS3.

I think I'll opt for this one.
Ootachi Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) Oblivion for a PC was a fiver on Steam yesterday. Shame. I really enjoyed Oblivion but things started to get less fun when I got 100% Chameleon. Skyrim's out on 11/11/11. Uncharted 3, Minecraft, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Sonic Generations, Old Republic, Saints Row 3, and Modern Warfare 3 are all out in November too. I don't think it's the best plan in the world to release days after Skyrim. Edited July 1, 2011 by Ootachi
The Wolf 23 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 i loved oblivion, however i did find once completed that the entertainment level lowered significantly, and i don't think that should happen with an RPG to be honest, RPG's for me are all about what you do and the decisions you make when your not in the main story line, and how that effects the main story line in turn, like general things like karma in fallout, or with improving your ship by collecting raw materials in mass effect. i hope that Skyrim blows my mind, with hundreds of hours of gameplay, a massive free to roam map with encapsulating side quests and interesting little snippets of lore and mythology. i'd also love it to have a great interface for unique interaction with NPC's. Plus there's dragons and shizz, what can go wrong seriously :(
_max Posted July 1, 2011 Author Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) from what i've heard oblivion for the pS3 was the worst of all the other consoles etc, get it for your comp if you can cause then when your bored you can install midas magic and have endless fun :( EDIT: Dani, you just made my day XD Edited July 1, 2011 by _max

I'm still not bored. I don't mind missing out on the mods, but the ugly vanilla characters do get on my nerves sometimes. Hopefully Skyrim allows at least decent character editing without the need of mods, I'd be one happy camper. Edited July 2, 2011 by MnJu

Ootachi Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 If that was a pie chart of Oblivion the brown section would be a lot bigger.
The Wolf 23 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 My loading was pretty fast considering the size of the game , i did have it installed to my xbox however, still good though :(
_max Posted July 2, 2011 Author Posted July 2, 2011 Loading screens were practically instant for me. i'm referring to 360 load times, my can be pretty bad some times(though i'm sure it due to the fact that i'm not using the GOTY version) the pie chart is for skyrim :(

Micael Fatia Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Loading screens were practically instant for me. Yeah same here, but I have the PC version. Anyway Oblivion was a pretty fun game that gets even better with mods and the official plugins/expansions like the Battlehorn Castle and Shivering Isles. My favourite quest is still The Ultimate Heist, being a thief is so much fun. :( But the The Dark Brotherhood has the best questline, it's just great. Warriors guild is meh, Mages guild is ok, Thieves guild is pretty fun, the Arena faction is just about killing your opponents in 1v1 fights (with very few exceptions like a few combats where you have to kill 2 or more opponents, it's fun :D), Knights of the Nine Divines is decent and the Shivering Isles is just amazing.
Arianna Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 being a thief is so much funWORD Though the Gray Fox's Cowl kind of takes away half the fun
Herty Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 being a thief is so much funWORD Though the Gray Fox's Cowl kind of takes away half the fun I was disappointed that Hieronymous Lex (sp?) didn't have any unique dialogue when arresting you with the Grey Cowl on. You'd think after every humiliation and loss against the Gray Fox, he'd have more to say than "Stop, criminal scum!" At least, thats what I remember him saying. Also, in my game he didn't have a weapon, because I disintegrated it on the first thieve's guild mission. He kept hitting me with his fist, heh.
The Wolf 23 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 But the The Dark Brotherhood has the best questline, it's just great. who doesn't love some cold blooded murder? :(
