Well, not sure. Like I said if it's really good I'll join any RP, however I'm limiting myself to two RP's at any time, because of the workload of uni and actually working.

 

But again, don't make something on my one single opinion.

Hi guys. While I don't particularly want to drain Sal's of even more activity, I just wanted to let you guys know I'm roleplaying over at the Roleplayer's Guild, if anybody's interested. And there are some pretty damn awesome roleplays there.

I have to say some of the recent roleplays [here] are very good, but they seriously lacked the activity to make them fun or even work. Again, if anybody's interested, you can find me under my original name, Click This.

(I won't be leaving Sal's yet, though. :P )

Okay, I'm officially working on a fantasy/sci-fi RP based off slave-labour, gladiatorial combat, immortal Emperors and a shadowy police force with the morals of a can of tuna.

Uh, Delred, it's going to be serious and have magic in it at the same time. I don't think anyone will be throwing fireballs, if that's what you mean, but things like telepathy, levitation, Mind over Matter (not just telekinises), invisibility and, as mentioned before, immortality, will probably factor in. Also there will likely be mystical creatures.

 

There will be spaceships, gritty downtown areas, zombies (not so much; at the most there will be a few worlds that have been lost to them which you might get an opportunity to visit), soaring high-rises filled with aristocratic people blind to the suffering of the Underbelly, Underbelly protesters who blame the government and, gods help me, the corporations, and other probably-overdoing-it items.

 

I'd love for someone to help me organize the backstory, because right now all I have is a vague Empire with an oppressive Lord Emperor who means well. And, uh, all that other stuff. V_V;

Of course. V_V But the only really sleek and shiny ones are used by upper-classmen who want to show off their wealthy. Millitary and commerce vesseks, unless those commerce vessels are trying to look nice, are usually more practical, and since piracy is a serious problem (overlooking the problem of infinite space) that means lots of armour and matt-black paint.

 

I'm still trying to decide on the level of weaponry available. If I include laser weapons, they're going to be similar to space-swords (you slash with them rather than fire directly at something). They would be capable of cutting through most ships like butter, but they will require ridiculously large amounts of energy to project and be very inaccurate. The kind of weapon found only on capital ships (such as they are) and defence stations, both of which can afford oversized power generators.

I'm more interested in the psychic idea, possibly mutations or a failed milatairy experiment that they let loose. I think I may be able to work up a character if I can get a better idea on what psychicness entails.

I described how it came about (somewhat) in the PM I sent you. It's more or less a manifestation of energy within the planets, which can be havrsted to produce unnatural powers. Earth had an unusually large amount of it, resulting in stories of gods, monsters, and lightning bolts flying from mouths. Like any other resource, however, it was in limited supply, and constant use stopped it from having any chance to regenerate.

 

The trace amounts found in other planets, especially non-habitable planets, require a sort of mutation in the brain to access. Earth and Prima are the only planets where all humans had access to some form of magic, without modification or mutation.

Three years is a freaking long time, and I don't think I can critique your work with so little information... What I find brilliant was that notion; that mythical creatures and men alike originate from a power within the Earth itself, that can be exploited by alien civilizations far more advanced than our own. :P

Three years is a freaking long time, and I don't think I can critique your work with so little information... What I find brilliant was that notion; that mythical creatures and men alike originate from a power within the Earth itself, that can be exploited by alien civilizations far more advanced than our own. :P

It could've been, but we used it all up during the Medieval ages. V_V That's why the reports of magic diminished drastically over time, as did the Church's power. Miracles were caused by the life force, and without a powerful means of producing them they had to rely on cheaper tricks.

 

Uh, this isn't a godless universe; it's just a universe where the gods don't have much power over the material universe if they have any at all.

It really depends on how indepth I decide to go on it. At the least I'll be naming sectors and giving them cultures and the like; at the most I'll be developing planets and talking about the usual names on each one.
