Jajajaja, join my roleplay!

(Even though it's on another site)

Think of the bright side! You'll meet new roleplayer friends!

If I just say, "fudge it, I'm going to make a roleplay after three years," how many of you guys would actually join? I mean, actually make CSs, post and the full nine miles.

I did that with DR, and all of you guys joined. Seems only fair that I'd at least make an attempt if you were the one to make one this time.

Here's my concept. Bear with me, it's an unusual one.

In essence, I'm taking two concepts, putting it together. That would be taking Shingeki no Kyojin's(Attack on Titan, Google it)'s plot of mankind walling themselves in to the response of the near extinction event of the appearance of man eating giants, and the concept of the game series Etrian Odyssey's main plot of exploration. I believe the idea has merit if placed in a 1300s-1800s time period --The first thing I thought when I saw the former was "Airstrike that shizzle..."

I love world building.

The roleplay world itself is vast, but inaccessible. There are three main walled coastal cities equidistant from each other: Fortress Bartholomew, City Leander, and Castle Paula. These cities are connected via an incomplete inner wall that shields the land between the walled cities from harm, but this line is often breached. Beyond the walls are vast plains known as The Great Lawn. These three cities and the small population between them is Civilization. Civilization five hundred years ago was thriving; human cities stretched far and wide, with populations in the hundreds of millions. Now, civilization struggles to maintain a population of but four million.

The struggles of man against these foreign, hostile beings led to technical advances not seen outside of prolonged warfare. At the turn of the 14th century, gunpowder and the associated technologies were in their infancy; the fully-rigged-sail plan had not been finalized; agriculture stagnant, and fortresses primative. By the end of the 18th century, cannon eclipsed conventional magic, ships became the only real safe haven, farms became efficient, and the three cities were nigh impenetrable.

Living within the cities, man was safe, but the curiosity of man began to wonder, what lied beyond the three cities, past the horizon of those green, bloodstained pastures? What was beyond the azure blue ocean? Were they alone in the world? Were their other pockets of civilization, or even an empire, thriving elsewhere?

These questions drove man to leave the safety of the city. Those that ventured forth into The Great Lawn sought adventure, riches, and hopes. So did those that set out to sea, but difference is those in the Great Lawn became big, red splotches on the never-ending grass, a natural fertilizer for the land. Those that set out to see to find foreign lands across the sea had some more luck.

We'll follow those people instead.

The idea itself isn't bad but the problem is that many people, especially here, commit to a roleplay when it starts and in the middle just stop posting. I'm fairly sure all of us have done that atleast once. Either way, you know I'd be down to roleplay.

I suppose nobody liked my roleplay concept?

It's not that nobody like the concept, it's that nobody likes you. :cute:

Hmm. Yeah, the idea definitely has potential.

Now if only everyone would stop leaving 10 pages in so we could actually get somewhere. :box:

Yep.

Give me some time, I'll whip up an OOC/signup topic, and if I get 5(five) decent applications, I'll go ahead with it. I'm assuming you, Fake, Rune, and I will be joining, so that makes four. I haven't seen Aliath in ages, but I'll spam him on Facebook to get his attention, and we'll see with the others.

So I've been around, just looking at stuff and watching.

Just to let you know I'd be interested in trying out your new RP. Just to clarify though, is the setting a 'advanced medieval' timeframe? Or are you looking at more tech like Rifles/Pistols (closer to western tech)?

Looking at early 1700s with certain late 18th century advances. Mid-stage artillery. Culverines, carronades, long guns. Early firearms. Muskets. Early long-distance communication. Semaphore lines. Flag semaphore. Pony Express.

Those things are nearly exclusively reserved for the military, however. Normal people would be using things from what you would expect from a late-era medieval time period: Axes, broadswords, love-child swords, but it can be all the way to the rapiers, colchimardes, and smallswords of the 17-18th century.

Edit: Nice to see sword names have been censored. Love-child swords... Heh.

I know! It's going fantastic!

In all actuality, I have the entire plot down, just got to write that OOC. I'll do it after I finals are over.
