Sal's Christmas Drop Party!

Recommended Posts

To celebrate Christmas, Sal's Realm is going to play host to a Drop Party! Following this we intend to head over to the Citadel for a little bit of celebration before heading off to the land of nod in anticipation of Santa Claus!!

Not only that, but throughout the Citadel party (which, unfortunately will be member's only), I will play the part of Santa Claus and will be randomly handing out presents to attendees!

I need details, man!

This event will be held on December 23rd, at 9:30 PM GMT.

Unfortunately, this particular event will be members only. However, we will look into organising a free-to-play drop party before the end of the year.

The event will take place on world 71, beginning in the Falador Party Room. The items will be put into the chest at exactly 9:30 PM, and after the dropping is over, we will march out of Falador and to the Clan Portal where we will spend an hour or so in the Citadel. We will play on the battlefield, dance in the keep and anything else you want to do! 'Tis the season to be Jolly!

I will be randomly handing out gifts to people throughout the night, so keep your eyes out for Santa Claus!

You aren't required to bring anything at all, but it might be a nice idea to bring along a little present for somebody else, be they a friend or a new acquaintance at the party.

No items are required, but you may wish to bring combat gear for the citadel, an outfit for partying or a festive costume!

Last, but not least, tell your friends! Let's make this a Christmas to remember!

Why on Christmas Eve? That means 10.30am for me on Christmas day and that means I won't be there.

And is this the only thing happening for the Christmas party?

I think it should be on the 23rd since I'll be spending time with the family and stuff on Christmas Eve.

I'm going to reply to the last few posts:

-I have a pretty hectic schedule at the minute myself, and I think that this may be the only time really that I can host, I'll look into doing it the day before, but I'm working till quite late, and I don't even finish school until the 22nd of December :P

-I most definitely don't have the money to host more than one drop party, even with contributors like Azarath! :D

-I severely hope this won't be the only thing happening for the Christmas party, but I'm going to try and run a number of smaller events just in case. Christmas is the busiest time of the year for me since I effectively spend it in two countries with both sides of my families and step families separately, so I can't commit to a long event like the usual Christmas party :(

EDIT: I'll try and make the 23rd work, same time, 9:30 PM GMT, time changed on OP.

We could always have a second guy work on another event, that way there isn't too much weight on your shoulders

Well, is there any way to keep out the non-sals noobs that will inevitably come to steal the drops?

I suppose you could do a world hop announced in the FC, but since the FC is open to all, that won't really work.

I'll see if I can find any spare dark bows/whips etc to throw in.

We want it to be open to as many people as possible Leaf, that includes non salmons. If nothing else it's a way of getting our name out there and potentially getting some new members. With some luck we'll be able to get some kind of Jagex advertisement, and an advert from Sal on his twitter.

Does it have to be before Christmas though? Wouldn't it be better to wait until afterwards if it means a better turnout for the party?

Fun fun - I'll try to see what I can throw in. I'll also get the citadel battlefields set up for some fun - just don't mess with layout C (it's our summong/agility boosters). By then we should have a tier 6 battlefield too.

I'm hoping to hold a freeplay drop party around the 30th (to be confirmed), but this one I'd like to host before Christmas. We haven't really done anything in game to celebrate Christmas and I'd like to get something done before Christmas.

If it got Jagex advertising people will be expecting very good drops, such as GWD armor, perhaps a rare etc. But, there aren't that many people camping out in fally, so I doubt a lot of randoms will be at the party. I dunno if I can come, I'll chuck in a mil or two if I do come though.
